Had a great stay with friends and family. Walkable to the meadow, which we enjoyed. Nice layout with small kids. Easy check in and out process. Would definitely stay here again!

Glad to hear you had a good time with family and friends and enjoyed the house. We like to hear how other families enjoy relaxing at the Ranch.
We loved our stay at this house. It was spacious, clean and well appointed. We were able to easily bike to the Lodge area, the stables, and the Glaze Meadow Activity Center. Having the Paulina swimming pool and tennis court just a quick walk away was also a plus. We will definitely come back.
Just returned from a week at this home. Was such a nice stay - one of the cleanest rentals we ever stayed in. Very comfortable beds, spacious and had everything we needed to feel like home. Communication with the owner was great and was very quick to respond with any questions. We wish we could have extended our stay - will definitely be back! Thanks for all the fun memories!
We loved our stay here. The home was immaculate and had so much room. It is absolutely the best stocked kitchen with any cooking item you could need. Plenty of towels for guests. All TV’s are Roku so you can log in to any of your regular steaming platforms. It snowed while we are there and it it was beautiful. We would definitely return!
Our family loved our week at your home. Had perfect weather and even had a full moon! Although we were not bothered by the Oregon wildfires, the haze. certainly made the moon and sunsets spectacular. The home was well stocked, clean, and had very comfy beds. Our AC was not working when we arrived, but the owner got someone out to fix it on Monday. This is a property we would love to visit again.
Springhouse 25 was wonderful. Black Butte Ranch has so many amenities you need more than a week to take advantage of all of them. We used three pools, golfed, tennis and pickleball, even rode horses!
Only had 7 staying at the house, but have family here locally, so had some sizable gatherings on the deck under the trees at the ranch. We are already planning our next family get together.
We had a fabulous weekend at BBR. The house was comfy and spacious. The kitchen was very well stocked. We love going to the pool and hot tub and had several great days skiing at Hoodoo. The house would be plenty big for two families of four to share. Jon was an excellent communicator and very helpful. Thank you! We hope to be back!
Cute, cozy cabin near Paulina pool. Fully stocked kitchen, very clean, soft beds and air conditioning (which is a must for me in any house we rent!). We had some questions for the owners and they were quick in response and very helpful. The deck did face onto the busier street and the neighbors driveway (which they always seemed to be outside playing basketball, so we felt a lack of privacy) but otherwise it was a cute little place.

Deck in bad shape
The house is ok, but the deck was dangerous. I unknowingly stepped on a rotting board, that broke under my foot. I was afraid I was going to step all the way through. That experience made me question the safety of walking on the deck. I emailed the owner with a heads up but there was no response. This place was mot cheap ... I would at least expect a sorry. Inside is fine, but the beds are strange...it is like they are inflated with air. One mattress seemed to leak air. When we arrived it was essentially flat on one side. Lastly, my pet peeve: the barbecue had not been wiped off and there were mouldy food remnants on the side boards.

We would like to clear this up right away.
First of all we are extremely sorry anyone is disappointed with our home and the last thing we want is for anyone to feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Responsiveness: we absolutely replied to the renters email - within 30 minutes of receipt on a Saturday morning a reply was returned. It is still on my phone as a sent reply message. Evidently the email was either spam filtered out or not read. We would NEVER ignore a message from a renter!
***We list our cell #'s as well as home phone on all documents just so we may remedy any concerns on a timely basis. This renter decided not to call but to write a negative review. ***
Deck: evidently there was one end of one board which was decaying. This four foot section of deck is being replaced and the entire deck has been checked over and is structurally sound.
Beds: yes, indeed they are 'air beds' - the downstairs bedrooms each have Select Comfort mattresses which are adjusted for firmness to suit each individual. There are corded controllers at the headboard of each bed along with instructions on each nightstand on how to make your first nights sleep a comfortable one. A phone call could have remedied this issue.
BBQ: the condition of the BBQ as reported is unacceptable and we have spoken to our housekeeper about this.
'Not Cheap': correct, our home is not a 'cheap' home. It has a very open vaulted layout with a large stone fireplace area, well equipped kitchen, plenty of supplies, laundry and large deck spaces. It absolutely is not 'cheap' to own and maintain, pay dues and taxes on but we do offer it at a rate that is very reasonable when compared to many other options.
This is our private home which we use to relax just like everyone who rents - we want everyone staying at our home to be comfortable and have a relaxing stay.
Our big family of 7 really felt this was a great house for us. Everything was clean, worked well, and came with excellent customer service / directions. A winner of a house all around!
We stayed here for a long weekend in May and the house is a great house in BBR. We've stayed at several homes over the years at Black Butte and this is definitely one of the better ones. Perfect for a larger family and excellent access to the Glaze Meadow area. Super clean and all the necessary amenities included. Highly recommend.
Very clean home! Plenty of room for us to spread out with 4 bedrooms. Everything you could possibly need was available in the kitchen. Comfortable beds.
This was the best appointed rental home we have ever stayed in. The giant wood burning fireplace made it feel like a mountain getaway. We will definitely return!
Homeowner was very helpful and quick in responses to a few questions
Very easy.

Why they chose this property
We will admit we are a little on the biased side - having lived in one of the first homes built on the Ranch and experiencing quality family time we value what Black Butte has to offer. Our children know when we visit the Ranch it is family time and the distractions of everyday life are left behind. The close proximity to Portland as well as the less commercial, less crowded and gated security attributes of Black Butte Ranch add up to a wonderful place for rest and relaxation.
