About this property

A Place to Gather - At the Heart of all Black Butte has to offer

Located on the 12th hole of the Big Meadow golf course, overlooking the course and lake, our 2,100 sf home with 5 bedrooms and 2-1/2 bath home is perfect for families, friends, or couples traveling together. The open floor plan of our cabin is designed around the idea of gathering with a large central area, with sweeping wood beam ceilings, connecting the kitchen, dining, and living room for friends and family to come together and share in each other's company and the beauty of central Oregon’s surroundings. With large windows overlooking the golf course and surrounding forest, large decks nestled amongst the ponderosas and aspen, it’s easy to quickly slip into vacation mode!

The large open kitchen has an abundance of lighting accented with skylights and windows to provide a bright and cheery cooking environment. Overlooking the dining and living, the cook(s) is never left out of the day’s events. The kitchen is appointed with all appliances including oven and cook top, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and grinder, toaster, griddle, mixer, blender, dishwasher, and an assortment of food prep utensils, pots/pans, knives, dinnerware, mugs/glasses and serving utensils.

The open kitchen has an eating bar with 4 stools to keep the cook company or for the kids to have a quick meal. For more formal dining, depending on the size of your group, there are table leafs to expand the dining table to seat 10-people.

Directly off the dining area is one of two large decks. Whether you’re, sunbathing or enjoying a cold beverage under the shade of the umbrella, or grilling up the evening’s meal, you may find this to be one of the most used “rooms” of the whole cabin.

The living room has a large stone fireplace, and seating “in the round”, with large windows looking out into the trees and golf course beyond. And when you’ve had your fill of that, wrap the day up with a little TV, a board game or cards, or perhaps a short drive to one of the Ranch’s hot tubs.

Downstairs off of the central space, are 3 –bedrooms and 1-1/2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, closet space and dresser. Bedroom 1 is the largest of the bedrooms, is the most “removed” from the central space, and has its own access to the back deck. Next to it is the downstairs bathroom, with a double sink vanity, toilet, and a walk-in shower. Then is the utility room, equipped with spare towels and rags, and a washing machine and dryer. Bedroom 2 is more central to all the action, and is better for those early risers. Bedroom 3 is off the kitchen, and has its own ½ bath with pedestal sink and toilet.

The upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bathroom. Bedroom 4 has built-in bunk beds, a couch, closet, and TV/DVD. Bedroom 5 has two closets and a dresser with two twin size beds. Between the two bedrooms is the bathroom with a double sink vanity, toilet, and tub/shower combo.

The home offers access to all of the Black Butte Ranch recreation facilities! Registered guests will enjoy the five pools and two spas, two golf courses, tennis, stables, biking and walking trails, and tasty restaurants. The views from the main lodge are unmatched, looking out over the lake to the to the Cascade Mountain Range!

The charming town of Sisters is just fifteen minutes away, and the picturesque Metolius River and town of Camp Sherman are just north of the ranch. A visit to the Camp Sherman store and fish hatchery is always a fun trip, as is a hike up to the ranger station on top of Black Butte. Whether you are here to relax by the pool or to explore the great outdoors, Black Butte Ranch is a great place to set up home base for whatever your interests may be.

The quoted rental fee does NOT INCLUDE Black Butte Ranch's daily recreational fee for all guests. This fee is an an additional 12% fee based on the base rental amount, and will be quoted upon determination of the number of days rented. Check in at the Ranch's welcome center is still required for gate access and recreational facility access code(s). Please note that motorcycles, motor homes, and camper trailers are not permitted within the ranch or on any of the Black Butte properties.

Great location in BBR
Good house for our 2 families of 4. The bunks in kids room were too small for our teens, but thankfully there was a pull-out sofa for them. Huge, well stocked kitchen although we didn't use it much for large meals. Deck was relaxing, but cushions were left out in rain so we couldnt sit on them for a day and a half or so. Remodeled bath down had great shower and water pressure, carpets a bit stained, but other than that it was a good house with great proximity to walk to Paulina pool, golf, and lodge.

Great place to gather the family
I can only say great things about this property. Location is great. Accessibility is great. Lots of room. Very clean. Easy to control the temperature. Great kitchen. Comfy beds with lots of extra blankets. The kids loved the secret passageway from the front closet into a bedroom, the bunk bed upstairs and the secret ladder up to a secret child-friendly playroom. The living room and dining areas are a wonderful place to gather. The deck out back is the perfect place to relax. We walked across the golf course and found a nice hiking trail. We loved the Lodge. We loved going swimming at the Glaze Meadow Rec Center. We would love to gather here again in the future.

About the host

My brother and I purchased this property from our Aunt & Uncle and Parents so that our growing families could continue to enjoy it for years to come.
Bob lives in Eugene with his wife and daughters.
David lives in Portland with his wife and son.

Why they chose this property

We built this home (actually our parents & aunt/uncle did) over 40 years ago. Through the years, it has seen multiple additions, renovations, and upgrades. And although the years have seen many changes to it, its' essence remains the same; it is the root of so many amazing memories of family gatherings, weekend get aways with friends, and quiet retreats of solitude. To this day, our cabin continues to be equally enjoyed and loved across the generations of our families.

What makes this property unique

Ready access to bike paths and meadow boardwalk, the Paulina pool (a smaller neighborhood pool), and a single tennis court (by Paulina pool).
