- Nestled in open fields and with its own forest, our Southern Vermont nature retreat is set in beautiful natural surroundings providing the ultimate in peace and privacy. The home is a traditional post-and-beam country house in classic Vermont style built to high standards that blends comfort and style with immediate access to nature and the outdoors. A perfect retreat for nature lovers.
The swimming in the pond (we call it the Lake) is superb and one of the main attractions in summer. The lake is a huge, (1-acre plus) manmade pond with a small beach and clear water that is spring-fed (natural wetlands ensure the water flowing into the pond is fresh and clean). The bottom is sand. The depth averages around 12 ft. Swimming is delightful. Our kids love to spend their whole day around the lake.
*Note: We love dogs but because of severe allergies, can only considered hippoallergenic well behave dogs.
Nearby is the quaint village of Weston with the renowned 'Vermont Country Store' and Weston Playhouse theater. The city of Manchester for outlet shopping 20 minutes away. Conveniently located in the foothills of the Green Mountains National Forest between Stratton and Okemo (20 minutes) and with Bromley (10 minutes) and Magic Mountain (just 5) minutes around the corner, our home is the perfect family retreat. No traffic, no noise, just peace, quiet and complete privacy. This property is surrounded by nature.

Some of Vermont's best restaurants like J.J. Hapgood in Peru are within 10 minutes and top restaurants in Manchester and Dorset within 20 minutes. Hike or cross-country ski from your doorstep into the forest across the fields, or start from the best cross-country skiing in Southern Vermont at nearby Greendale Rd. and go as far as you want (trails connect all the way to Canada.)

Once you settle down in front of the stove in the comfortable living room, or sit outside at the back of the house to take in the views of the Vermont mountain range, or sit down at the private beach, life leaves nothing else to be desired. Open floor plan, nice bedrooms with a lot of character, and large family room.

Lovely and comfortable stay in beautiful southern Vermont

Our group of 4 adults and 3 children enjoyed our holiday ski season stay at this well-appointed property. The host, Luisa was very welcoming and helpful leading up to and during our visit. We appreciated her gracious hospitality and thoughtful gift basket. The home is conveniently located near Bromley and Stratton and includes a well-equipped kitchen, reliable wi-fi, wood burning stoves, sleds and other amenities. The house layout is ideal for two families traveling together. We hope to visit again soon!

Charming Holiday Vacay

Special thanks to Luisa and her family in sharing their lovely Vermont home with our family for the Christmas holiday season. Clear communication up front prior to arrival, just a text message away during our stay, and a friendly followup after our rental to be sure we enjoyed our time. Fresh flowers and baked treats awaiting upon entry. The location is beautiful... close enough to an assortment of shops and activities that the area offers, yet situated on a 100+ acres of privacy. A true gem. We'll be back.

Wonderful Stay in Beautiful Vermont

We had a fabulous stay at Luisa's home! The house was wonderful, spacious, and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. The property is expansive with a beautiful pond. The views and sunsets were beautiful. The house was immaculate upon arrival! Luisa is a terrific host and was available to answer any questions we had. She was extremely helpful and caring. We were welcomed with fresh flowers in the kitchen and a delicious pie upon arrival. She provided us with a list of local eateries and recommended activities in the area. We skied with our snowboarding teenagers at Okemo mountain which was a short 20-minute ride. They had a great time! We visited the Vermont Country store that was down the street. I definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home any time of the year. I would recommend having an all-wheel-drive or a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the winter months to access the property. COVID respite

The comfy, spacious house in the Green Mtns offered us a chance to unwind without crowds. We brought all our food. We watched a few movies and played board games for the weekend. One day we went shopping at the VT Country Store and skied at Wild Wings Nordic Centet. Great way to connect with each other!

Lovely!

We just returned from a fantastic week at Luisa's property. The house is lovely and the setting couldn't have been more gorgeous and private. The house is spacious and well equipped. Luisa was very easy to work with and gave us great suggestions to guide our time around the area shopping, meals, and activities. While you'll need to drive, there's plenty to do and food/supplies/quality restaurants and take out are all accessible. She truly went above and beyond to make sure our family had a great stay and that we could enjoy the pond to the fullest. We saw deer, partridges, and tons of frogs, which the kids loved, and the foggy mornings and sunsets over the trees and mountains on the back porch/patio are stunning. Truly a wonderful place to spend time. I highly recommend!

Seamless and then lovely

We are frequent VRBOers - and we really value a seamless rental process (some are not). The process for staying at this house was seamless and organized - and so appreciated. The house is located in the middle of many ski mountain choices making it a perfect location in our view. Close enough to town but far away enough to allow enjoyment of the beautiful outdoor setting, it really was just right. I do recommend having a 4WD car in the winter. As far as the house, absolutely clean and warm and gorgeous. We also arrived to a delicious pie about which my teenagers are still raving. Thank you Luisa and family for helping us make fantastic family memories. Stop scrolling - choose this house.

Outstanding Vermont Getaway

We loved everything about our stay at this Landgrove property. The setting could not be improved upon. The views of meadows and mountains and forests were breathtaking. We spent hours just exploring the miles of trails right outside the door! Luisa is an exceptional host. She was extremely responsive, flexible and provided excellent information and tips on areas to explore and restaurants to try. The house was perfect: super clean, well organized, comfortable and cozy. Vases of fresh flowers were placed throughout the house. A homemade berry pie was waiting for us in the kitchen. We could not have asked for anything more. We hope to return soon!

Paradise in Vermont

The house and the setting exceeded expectations. It is the perfect choice for a vacation which bespeaks the beauty of Vermont in a home that accommodates a family adventure. It is beautifully and warmly appointed. A radiant fire in the wood-burning stove while looking out at 170 pristine acres is idyllic. We snow-shoed the property and were totally enveloped by nature, all while remaining on the property itself. The owner is incredibly accommodating and responsive. She was responsive and accommodating in a manner that only one who truly cares about whether you are enjoying your stay can project. She not only loves her home, but she wants you to love it too, and we certainly do. If you are looking for a special place to enjoy all that this area of Vermont has to offer within close proximity to where you are staying, there cannot be a better choice than this property.
