Excellent Value
We had a great time! The kids loved the beach and had a great time fishing steps away from the house. Host is a great communicator and provided helpful information about the house and the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home and wonderful host!
We had such a lovely vacation at Irene's home. The house is as beautiful as the pictures - airy, nicely-decorated, and spacious. Irene is a wonderful host - she has stocked the house with EVERYTHING that might make your stay more enjoyable (spices, pantry items, toiletries, board games, you name it). She was also very helpful with any questions we had about the house, local activities, etc. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Irene!

Perfect Serenity
From start to finish, the property owner/manager was on top of it. She very promptly answered any questions that I might have since I had some specific questions regarding someone with limited mobility. The property was amazingly clean. Of note, for future renters, it does contain personal items including items of food, with condiments etc. available for your personal use. That was quite helpful to me since I didn’t have to buy a whole new bottle of paprika! It also made me feel at home and made me feel like I could trust the owners to deliver a great stay. Everything was quite clean and cleaner than would be expected for a cabin in the woods. The property itself was serene. Although it abutted the road and not the lake, it was a very low traffic road and was very quiet. A short walk to the lake was very convenient for the complimentary kayaks or to dip your feet in the lake. There is a an Italian restaurant in the neighborhood approximately 1 mile away with amazing food and super friendly servers. I gave location 4 stars only because it is a little more remote from everything, which may be the intent for most people anyway. Also, I was less familiar with with area so maybe that is my bias. However, grocery stores are within 10 minutes as are additional restaurants. There is plenty of sleeping room and the washer and dryer were perfect as we stayed for two weeks and needed to do some laundry. The water was super nice and hot for showers. The bathrooms are extremely clean. The beds and pillows were a little softer and lumpier for my taste, but no one had any complaints! The Wi-Fi was amazing as I was able to work remotely during my stay. The children were able to watch all their favorite shows with logins on a Roku. There was a cute little fire pit to roast marshmallows although we didn’t get to use it because of the rain. Overall, I would definitely stay here again as the cleanliness was better than most hotels! The responsiveness of the host was wonderful and she took care of any small bumps that came up in the road during our stay. The owners should truly be proud of what they have created as a serene mountain retreat.

We are married with two children. We currently live in Brooklyn, NY. We enjoy music, cooking, travel and spending time in nature. I am originally from Philadelphia, and my husband is from Connecticut.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this home so that we could get a break from city life. This area is very quiet (especially at night). We have enjoyed many weekends, holidays and summers here boating, swimming and hiking to the amazing local waterfalls. Our home is situated right beside Gold Key Lake, a beautiful, clean, natural lake.

Our community has a beach, Recreation Room, Lodge with ten guest rooms, Adult Lounge, Restaurant, picnic grounds with BBQs, children’s playground as well as a large lakeside deck for dining and entertainment. Other amenities include rowboats, canoes, sailboats, kayaks and paddle boats available for use by members and guests. All necessary equipment including oars, paddles, and life jackets are available. We also have: tennis courts, softball field, basketball courts, boating and fishing.

Milford is a very special town on the Delaware River. The beauty of the mountains and the river definitely drew us here. In town, there are high quality restaurants, art galleries, specialty shops and antique stores.

What makes this property unique

We really fell in love with the high ceilings and the modern, renovated, open living room/kitchen area. We also really love the wrap around deck for entertaining. We were definitely drawn to the beauty of the Gold Key Lake!
