We had a wonderful stay at Serendipity Lodge. The property was spacious and beautiful with tons of fun things to do - from billiards to lounging by the lake, to heading out in a kayak. The house was clean and we especially loved the seasonal screened room - it was such a relaxing space with gorgeous views and there was always a nice breeze blowing through. The property was super quiet, which was lovely. We headed out for little hikes with our dog several times a day, as there were nice trails, but recommend to bring bug deterrent clothing if you’re venturing off the property. There were very few horse/deer flies on the property itself but they were quite relentless in the trails and down the side roads. We would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage and location to anyone who enjoys nature and the spectacular lake views.

Serendipity Lodge is a gem. It is in a quiet corner of the lake and had everything my family could want. The lake is beautiful with both a dock and walk-in, many vantage points for relaxing and boats for use. The cottage is extensive, quirky (as it should be), and has lots of space for a family to spread out. The cottage is very well stocked in the kitchens and there a lots of indoor entertainment for rainy days.

We had an incredible time at Serendipty Lodge. The lake, cottage, and facilities are the perfect combo for creating life long memories with family. The surrounding area has everything you need for shopping, groceries, souvenirs, grabbing take out, or picking up some last minute items. Natasha is also a wonderful host who is extremely responsive and goes out of her way to make sure you’re comfortable and equipped with all the knowledge and tips to make the most of your stay. We can’t wait to return

Weekend Getaway

We had an amazing weekend up at Serendipity Lodge! The location of this cottage is perfect and right next to the trail system. It is such a unique cottage and we absolutely loved our stay there. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing cottage weekend. The hot tub and sauna were defiantly added perks. Communication was so easy and we never had any issues at all. 5 stars!! Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful peaceful location.

The cottage is in a beautiful location. It is very peaceful & has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great to have 2 separate kitchens if travelling with family members. A great selection of boats to enjoy time on the water. The games room in the basement was great fun for the evenings. We enjoyed using the sauna & jumping straight in to the lake - very refreshing! Plenty of room for our family group of 4 adults. Communicating with Natasha has been an absolute pleasure.

Our stay at Serendipity hosted by Natasha was an absolute 10/10 experience. Even though it rained the entire time, we still had such an amazing stay — which honestly says everything about how special this place is. The water was beautiful, the atmosphere was so peaceful, and there was always something to do no matter the weather. This was my first time ever booking through VRBO, and Natasha made the entire process incredibly easy and stress-free. The instructions and communication were beyond thorough, thoughtful, and helpful from start to finish. Everything was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and clearly cared for.I shared photos and details with both my family and clients, and every single person said they would love to visit themselves. That alone speaks volumes. Serendipity truly feels like one of those rare places where you can fully relax, reconnect, and enjoy quality time together.Highly, highly recommend staying here. We left with wonderful memories and would absolutely book again. Thank you Natasha for such a lovely experience!

Hello Trystal, thank you so much for your very positive review. It was been such a pleasure hosting you and your group. Although it rained on the Saturday (which brings its own charms - especially in the Sun Room), I am glad you made the most of the extended check-out time and got to fully enjoy the full day on Sunday and experience the lake in all it's glory. We would welcome you back any time - thank you for bringing great vibes to our special place :)

Adjacent to Algonquin Park

My friends and I were keen on a winter trip skiing or snow shoeing in Algonquin park and wanted a cozy place to stay. Serendipity Lodge worked for us. Four rooms suited our group. The two kitchens did as well. Lots of firewood for the wood stove made our evenings very cozy. The lodge may offer more on-site activities during the summer with great access to the lake along with a large property. My communications with the owner were great. The distance to Algonquin Park was a little too long though for multi daily treks to the trails in the winter.

Thanks for your review and choosing us for your winter trip. We enjoy winter at the cottage and many guests take advantage of the frozen lake to do ice-fishing, ice-skating and make cool toboggan tracks down to the lake since we have a good incline. Having a sauna and roll in the snow is another popular activity! And of course the trails opposite are like Narnia. Algonquin Park is a 25min drive to east gate. Natasha & George

Overall the stay was nice, property is pretty, house was clean!I have one concern and one heads-up regarding this property. I hope to just add a little clarity for future bookers.First the concern is that the listing does not specify a rental agreement will be needed to be signed. We only recieved this once host had accepted the booking and my credit card had already been charge. Our group would have appreciated knowing in advance to requesting a booking. To reiterate no one had issue that an agreement was required, but this should not come as a surprise. Alongside this concern, the agreement requires you to email your ID to an unsecure Gmail if you are not verified on Vrbo. The host also accepts healthcard as a form of ID, which is illegal in Ontario. As for the heads-up, the host does not show pictures of the stairs. The stairs are very narrow and the last step wobbles at times. All the men in our group had to go down the steps side ways. This may or may not be an issue for some, but just in case someone has accessibility issues, this is something to consider before booking. (Picture attached)P.S. Property owners require you take your trash and recycling home or to an off-site facility at the end of the stay. For us this was a huge inconvenience as the day we checked out, off-site facility was closed so either way we had to drive home with trash in the back. This may or may not be an issue for some. Again a detail that we found out AFTER our card was charged.

Hello, thank you for your review and helpful comments. Part of our cottage's charm and uniqueness is the quirky original design and beautiful remote location in true Canadian wilderness. As is very common in cottage country, there is no garbage collection service to the area. However there are multiple waste facilities in close proximity on different times and days (provided in our cottage guide both at the cottage and on email). This has never been an issue for other guests. There is a note about the narrow internal staircase on our listing. In case it is an issue, the outside steps are very wide and each level is fully self-contained: there is an entrance/exit door, bedroom, kitchen and full bathroom on each level. I added a note about the rental contract onto the public listing though it's important to highlight that upon the booking request being accepted, guests are automatically provided with the rental agreement through the platform and could take advantage of the 48hr cancellation window if not in agreement. We do not request ID information since that is already collected by VrBO. We are always looking to improve our service to our guests and appreciate each piece of feedback received. Thanks for taking the time .
