About this property

Adventure Awaits at the Deer Trails Cabin!

Our cabin is located in a great area to explore all that the Buffalo National River area has to offer. We are located in Deer, Arkansas about 1 mile down a well maintained gravel road that is easily accessible in any type of vehicle.

The property adjoins the Ozark National Forest providing you with endless opportunities to explore the surrounding area all on your own. We are located within 30 minutes of some of the areas most popular trails. Whitaker Point (Hawksbill Crag), Lost Valley Trail, Glory Hole Tail, Alum Cove and of course the Elk in the Boxley Valley and floating the upper Buffalo River from Ponca.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The kitchen is fully equiped with a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery. There is a gas grill as well. There is a fire pit available for you to roast marshmallows or hot dogs or just relax by the fire. (area is subject to burn bans). A large covered deck with expansive views in the winter provides plenty of room to relax.

There is a walkout basement which contains a game room. We have Galaga, Out Run, and a convertible gaming table that has mini pool, mini ping pong, and mini air hockey. There is a hot tub located on the downstairs covered patio so you can enjoy it rain or shine. There is also a washer/dryer located in the basement in case you need to do laundry after a few days of hiking and exploring the beautiful outdoors.

Perfect Home Base
This was an awesome place to stay. We have a 13 & 17 year old and they loved the location. We loved the hiking, all the back roads, and swimming holes. I would have to say the favorite was the swim hole right down the road from the cabin. If you have a side by side I would recommend bringing it. We went to Alum Cove, Glory Hole, Buffalo River (Steel Creek Campground), Ozark Cafe (Jasper), & Cliff House Inn (Jasper) and would recommend all. There’s a lot more to see and we will be back.

Great place
This house was so clean! We had everything we needed. We messaged the owner about finding the private swimming spot and got a quick response. It was such a beautiful place to swim and enjoy the day. The location is out in the middle of nowhere, which made for the most chill vacation ever! It was phenomenal. The kids loved the play room downstairs, especially the vintage games! We would stay here again, it was a great house.

Cozy, Secluded Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at the Deer Trails cabin. The location was wonderful. Close enough to where we wanted to hike, yet secluded where we didn’t see anyone else during our stay. The cabin was quite cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the downstairs game room and the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Check in process was very easy. Our only complaints is the stocking of kitchen supplies, coffee maker and the barn doors on the bedrooms. There was no multi-surface cleaner, coffee, and minimal kitchen towels/washcloths in kitchen for cleaning during cooking. The coffee maker worked fine, but was not ideal for our group of 4. Would suggest a regular 12-cup maker. The barn doors are beautiful but don’t stay closed. Even if they are closed, there’s a huge gap on the sides of the doors. Overall, this cabin was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to friends and would stay here again in future.
