Experience the ambiance of South Africa in this beautiful lodge nestled among the pine forests and vineyards of the Hérault region. This air-conditioned, all-wood chalet features a living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with a smart TV, a bedroom with bunk beds, a large bathroom with a toilet, 35 m² of living space plus a 25 m² covered terrace on stilts, and ample storage.

Enjoy a private wooden swimming pool, a large terrace with a relaxation area (perfect for summer aperitifs), and a pleasant barbecue area.

Good Wi-Fi coverage makes it ideal for working from home.

Located in Plaissan, a small village near the Mediterranean Sea and the Hérault gorges, just a few kilometers from canoe trips, the Clamouse and Demoiselles caves, and close to Lake Salagou and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, come and stay in this beautiful wooden chalet with its elegant and stylish decor and high-end amenities.

Wir verbrachten zu zweit herrliche ruhige 14 Tage in dem schönen Cottage und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.Das Cottage verfügt über eine tolle überdachte Terrasse mit guter Abendbeleuchtung und einem tollen Blick auf die Umgebung. Das Häuschen ist über einen ansteigenden Holzweg (der ca. 30m entfernt vom Parkplatz liegt) zu erreichen, leider etwas ungünstig bei An- u. Abreise, sowie nach einem größeren Einkauf.Ein Parkplatz ist reserviert für die Gäste des Cottages, die restlichen gehören zu dem auf dem gleichen Anwesen gelegenen kleinen ruhigen Hotel.Der schöne Pool ist ca. 5x3m groß und ca. 1,20m tief.Das Cottage ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, weißt aber an manchen Stellen Gebrauchsspuren auf (z.B. Eisfachklappe und Terrassensofa-Umrandung eingerissen, 2 v. 3 elekt. Rollläden können nur heruntergelassen werden, wenn man von außen etwas zieht, Mülleimerdeckel abgerissen)Alle sonstigen kleinen Defizite hat Pierre, der sehr nette und bemühte Gastgeber, schnell behoben.Der gesamte Müll muss in öffentliche Tonnen entsorgt werden (ca. 200m entfernt).Erst am Tag vor unserer Abreise wurden wir informiert, dass die Unterkunft sauber und geputzt übergeben werden soll, ansonsten würden 60 in Rechnung gestellt werden. Das sollte bereits bei der Unterkunftsbeschreibung erwähnt werden! Zudem taugt der Staubsauger nichts und Putzmittel fehlen! NICHT falsch verstehen, alles in allem eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, bei der ein erholsamer Urlaub garantiert ist!

Overall we loved our stay at the cottage

What we loved about our stay at the cottage, was the idyllic views across a vineyard covered landscape, beautiful sunsets, sitting on the quiet peaceful veranda and taking in the views, the privacy that the cottage and outdoor space offers as it is not overlooked at all, cooling off in the swimming pool, cooking on the BBQ in the evenings, the air conditioning unit in the lounge which catered to the whole cottage, the powerful shower, dishwasher and washing machine, a well equipped kitchen with all the essentials needed, and enjoyed the space within the cottage which for a couple, was an adequate amount of space to sleep, eat and relax. A few things could have made our trip that bit better, such as a more comfortable double bed (ideally for a couple a larger bed too, as this is a standard double) with a deeper, slightly softer mattress and a bed frame that does not creek. We would have appreciated it if all cobwebs and spiders in the cottage were vacuumed away ahead of our arrival. The owners could have done a check of the whole property ahead of our arrival to ensure everything was being maintained. We discovered a wasp nest in the top of the outdoor parasol. The freezer draw could not be opened due to a broken handle. The television in the lounge intermittently didn’t respond. We experienced a power cut which we suspected may be due to a bulb blowing over the BBQ. The first time we used the BBQ the thick layer of burnt on grease and drippings on the bottom of the BBQ burst into flames and burnt our dinner which was a frightening experience more than anything else; we feel the BBQ could have been cleaned ahead of our visit. The outdoor sensor lighting didn’t work reliably. There were no instructions to use the oven so we were unable to use this during our visit (we tried to find an online manual with no success); a simple set of written instructions from the owners would have been appreciated, as even if written in French we could have translated them. The end of the hand held shower hose leaked. The toilet seat was loose. We quickly learnt to keep doors shut to keep out mosquitos, which were rampant during our stay. A car is essential. We would only stay again if the comfort of the double bed was improved, as for us, a good nights sleep is essential to optimising the enjoyment of our stay. Pierre and Melanie were quick to respond and resolve any matters we raised during our trip, which we appreciated. Overall we loved our stay at the cottage.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour vraiment reposant au calme avec une magnifique vue sur les vignes! Jolie chalet avec tous le nécessaire! Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les propriétaires. Je recommande sans hésiter si vous souhaitez passer des vacances reposantes et ressourçantes !

Toller Sommerurlaub!

Im kleinen Chalet in Plaissan verbrachten wir 2021 einen wunderschönen Sommerurlaub von zwei Wochen. Das Chalet liegt herrlich ruhig, man hat eine tolle Sicht und viel Privatsphäre. Haus, Pool und Grill waren perfekt, wir kommen gerne wieder!

We very much enjoyed our stay.It is a beautiful place and location, absolutely stunning view. Great pool very well equipped and clean ,Everything was fresh and new including the Bedding , the owner is a great responsive person which was absolutely wonderful . Kitchen was fully equipped and very clean . The view at night is absolutely STUNNING!!. We really LOVED IT .It’s our first time to rent but we will absolutely do it again as soon as we can it’s a highly recommended place .

Fantastic lodge with beautiful views

We loved our stay in the lodge. Its really well equipped, the decking makes it feel really spacious and we had everything we needed including air con and music. It was so lovely sitting outside looking at the view of the vineyards and great to have the pool and garden. The hosts were really welcoming, we appreciated their homegrown tomatoes and the village shop was brilliant for bread and croissants. We found the beds really comfortable and all had a great relaxing time. The beaches / lake nearby are good for swimming with the kids and the fishing villages provided some lovely seafood meals. Of course the wine was pretty good too from the local producers. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would love to return.

A fantastic holiday in a beautiful location..

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the beautiful "Villa Bois" it really did feel like a safari Lodge! You almost expect to see elephants and giraffes passing by but instead there are plenty of butterflies, cicadas and birds of prey hovering overhead. We also enjoyed seeing the bats come out in the evening! We loved spending our days on the veranda and down by the pool, both were very welcome in the July heat and the air conditioning inside the lodge was definitely a bonus! The lodge itself is very nicely decorated and perfect for a couple. In our opinion you will need a car as there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance although one is planned in the near future. The owners were very friendly and contactable if we needed help during our stay. We highly recommend visiting Beziers and Pezenas and also a trip to Carcassonne is a must. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and didn't really want to leave!
