A delightful property set in stunning grounds alongside the host’s residence. The pool was incredibly tranquil. Hosts were very helpful, offering suggestions for days out.

Fantastic stay at La Ravaloire

We had a fantastic week at La Ravaloire and highly recommend this beautiful spot. The charming hosts Henri and Noëlle welcomed us to the lovely cottage set in gorgeous and peaceful grounds and woodland. Kids of 5 and 8 loved the fantastic large pool and lawn, and we all found the cottage, it’s fab veranda and grounds a fantastic base for a week exploring the Loir, cycling from La Flèche to an ice making windmill and beach by a lake, canoed in Bazouges getting the best view of the castle, day trips to Chenonceaux and Angers and many visits to the fantastic local Boulanger. Henri recommend a vineyard for Jannieres variety an hour east which was excellent. Would love to visit again sometime. Thank you Henri and Noëlle.

Fabulous Stay!

This was a return visit to La Ravaloire for me, having had a fantastic stay here in 2022 with a friend but it was my Husband's first time and it certainly lived up to expectation and he, too, loved it here. Our stay, the cottage and our lovely hosts were all we could have asked for... The cottage is fabulous - very comfortably furnished and very stylish in decoration. Noelle, Henri and their gorgeous spaniel Athos are the perfect hosts, friendly and attentive without being intrusive in any way. The peace and tranquility that this place provides is absolutely amazing; a stone's throw from both La Fleche and Durtal plus a little further afield to amazing chateaux, vineyards, other places of interest to visit, yet set in woodlands and meadows with a beautiful pool as an added bonus. We can't wait to come back again in the future.

Fantastic place - loved it.

Everything was as or better than described in the listing. Very quiet and safe location, in beautiful countryside. Comfy furnishings and lovely pool. Hosts were welcoming and informative - and then left us to enjoy the place.

Simply perfect

Every aspect of our stay at Gîte La Ravaloire "The Orchard" was amazing. From our wonderfully friendly and welcoming hosts (Noëlle and Henri). Gîte La Ravaloire is beautifully presented and picture perfect. The location is serene, with the beautiful wildflowers, sprawling woodland and a fabulous pool area, which we thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the excellent weather. So glad we got to spend some time with Atos, enjoying our little visits from him on an evening. All amenities you could need are provided, and local shops, markets and places to visit are an easy 10 minute drive away. Think you so much to Noëlle and Henri.

Beautiful, Peaceful French Gite

As a family, we felt we were in paradise at this beautiful property. A very friendly, warm welcome from Henri and Noelle, the owners. The Gite was very well equipped with everything we needed, immaculately clean with beautiful views from every window and door. The pool was wonderful, lots of fun for the adults and children. Very relaxing looking out over the French countryside. It is situated near the local village with a great bakery and very near La Fleche with lots of restaurants. We all felt very lucky to meet their lovely dog Athos who visited us every day. Would we recommend this property to anyone? That's a definite YES. Thank you Henri and Noelle, this holiday will always bring back wonderful memories.

Magnifique propriété dans un cadre bucolique. La maison est charmante, très bien équipée et confortable. Très belle piscine ainsi que l’environnement général de la propriété (immense!). L’accueil de la propriétaire était parfait, rien à redire. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Wonderful holiday

We have just returned from a brilliant holiday at La Ravaloire. Noelle and Henri were excellent hosts and happy to recommend nearby places to visit and restaurants. Our children loved the pool, exploring the grounds and of course playing with Athos! We hope to return.

Family holiday

We stayed as a family in this beautiful location with our two boys and family, we could not have wished for more. The views and location were so peaceful and our boys thoroughly enjoyed playing with Athos and in the pool! Our hosts were super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed at all times - I would highly recommend staying here as a family!

Perfect and Peaceful

We’ve just returned from a week at La Ravaloire and have had a lovely and relaxing week. Noelle & Henri are perfect hosts, giving help and guidance when needed but generally just leaving you to it. Our 12 year old made full use of the pool despite us picking the first week of rain that France had had in over 5 weeks! We did manage a few hours of sun each day so not all bad. Being in a small village didn’t bother us at all, in fact it was nice to not see any fellow brits and to have to use our pigeon French! We visited Le Mans old town and the race track and on a particularly wet morning went to the Atoll shopping centre in Angers. We would highly recommend La Table De Lauren in La Flèche for a meal- it was delicious but you have to book. All in all, a lovely stay in a beautiful location.

Happy family holiday

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa - very well equipped, brilliantly located and lovely hosts. We enjoyed cycling too and from Durtal along the excellent cycle path in the village, a wonderful trip to Angers, Kayaking and paddleboarding on Le Loir and lots of time enjoying the pool in the heat wave! A very special meal out at Les Quatre Saisaons in La Fleche too. Thank you for a lovely stay - some special family memories made.

Wonderful pool and delightful Gite in a quiet countryside. Hosts very easy to communicate with.

Our three bed gite fitted our family well. The owner asked us how we would like the beds arranged, we had one double and two rooms of two singles. This is a very flexible arrangement. Plenty of parking in the shade - very useful in the summer of '22

Tranquille retreat

A lovely rural converted farmhouse surrounded by gardens and discreetly placed next to the owners house who were delightful hosts. Lovely swimming pool. Complimentary bottle of home-made apple juice on arrival was very welcome.

Lovely hosts and a beautiful, peaceful retreat!

Our stay at Henri and Noelle’s lovely property was a wonderful experience. They are so welcoming and thoughtful. Noelle’s incredible style and attention to detail creates a haven to rest, enjoy family and take in the beautiful garden and countryside. We greatly appreciated their suggestions about the area and their gracious hospitality while still creating a private and quiet atmosphere of rest. We hope to get back to this special place again!

A truly fabulous Cottage

My best friend and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at this fabulous Cottage and I can't wait to return! This is one of those places that you find and know that you will return again and again. Noelle and Henri (and Athos, their incredibly sweet and friendly Springer Spaniel) were really great hosts! Attentive and friendly, without being at all intrusive. The Cottage is set amid fields and woodland and it is so peaceful, the only sound you hear is the bees buzzing and the birds singing. While we didn't see any Deer ourselves, I'm reliably informed they visit the pasture regularly! There is plenty of outdoor space, a swingset for young ones and of course, the fantastic pool! The Cottage decor is beautifully presented - both comfortable and stylish, whilst also retaining a feeling of tradition. The thick Tuffeau walls certainly helped to keep the cool in and the heat out! The kitchen is well appointed, the lounge has 2 comfy sofas and 2 occasional chairs, there are books and games... The Cottage has 3 generous bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - the ground floor bedroom (with en-suite) stayed very cool even in the 40°C heatwave - the Linen bedding (thoughtfully provided by Noelle) was really appreciated upstairs, as it made a huge difference to sleeping in those high temperatures. I really can't praise this wonderful place highly enough - my only regret in doing so is that others will see the Review and it will be so booked up, I'll never be able to find another free week!! Here's to the next visit...!!

Secluded bliss in the woods!

We had a lovely ten days at Henri’s and Noelle’s gite. They are very welcoming and friendly hosts (as is their very calm - and baby friendly - dog Athos) whilst respecting your space. The space is really fantastic - loads of open green lawns surrounded by woodland that you can walk through, which was great as the temperatures rose! The pool was also perfect for this - with wonderful views reaching down over the valley. The cottage itself is homely, nicely modernised (compared to many French gites which can be very dated) and well equipped. Just pay attention upstairs if you’re tall as the sloping ceilings are low in places! The gite is north of the main Loire attractions but we found several chateau to visit in the area as well as some nice markets and the zoo. The village (which we walked into, 25 minutes) has a nice boulangerie, a convenience store and a good restaurant we went to for lunch one day if you don’t want to go any further. Overall I’d really recommend La Ravaloire. Have a great stay!

Beautiful cottage in a quiet and tranquil setting

The property was comfortable, spotlessly clean and with more than enough space for myself husband and four teenage children. The location of the cottage was absolutely perfect, with lots of activities to do locally and a little further afield. We we’re travelling with two ASD children who struggle with noise and need calm surroundings. The immediate surroundings of this cottage offered the peace and tranquility that they needed. The pool was large, well heated and again like everything else, was perfect. One thing I was concerned about when booking this cottage was being on the same grounds as the owners. We usually rent out villas or cottages that are private. However, with the positive reviews we had read of the quiet and peaceful settings I decided to give it a go. Im glad I did, our hosts did all they could to make our stay comfortable and happy, answering any questions we may have whilst ensuring we were never disturbed and had our private space to relax. If you are looking for peace, quiet and somewhere to get away from it all, this is the place for you. It was a perfect holiday and we couldn’t fault it in anyway.

A true hidden gem

We have had a wonderful week at La Ravaloire. The owner Henri was very helpful, kind and generous. We loved the property and the surroundings. It’s a magical place to stay. A little paradise hidden in a beautiful forest. Our kids had a lot of fun swimming in the pool, playing in the garden and goofing around with Athos, the nicest dog. We enjoyed the quiet French countryside from our lovely terras and relaxed under the beautiful trees. Our gite was nicely decorated and had all the comfort we needed. We would recommend this place to all of our friends and family. It’s truly a hidden gem.

tolles Ferienhaus, sehr nette Vermieter und Entspannung pur

Wir haben hier sehr schöne und entspannte Ferien verbracht. Das Haus ist superschön und mit sehr viel Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Umgeben ist es von einem herrlichen großen Grundstück. Der Pool ist sehr groß und eignet sich hervorragend zum Schwimmen. Noelle und Henry sind sehr freundliche Gastgeber und wir wollen auch Athos erwähnen - unseren neuen Freund. Athos ist der Hund der Gastgeber, er ist sanft und umsichtig und passte immer sehr lieb auf uns auf. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder. Merci beaucoup Noelle et Henry! À l'année prochaine!! Splendide ?

L’acceuil était chaleureux. On a passé un séjour très agréable en compagnie de ce fameux chien Atos. La piscine valait vraiment la peine. Un endroit spacieux pour faire des promenades dans le forêt avec le chien. L’environnement parfait pour s’échapper du stress de tous les jours !
