About this property

Lake Front Log Cabin located directly on ATV and Snowmobile Trails

Welcome to our log cabin on beautiful and crystal clear Island Lake near Barnes, WI! Island Lakehurst is over 50' deep and approximately 60 acres. It is large enough for skiing and tubing but small enough for kayaking and paddle-boarding and doesn't have the heavy boat traffic of a larger lake. The lake is almost all sand-bottom and you can swim or float right from the shore!

Our outdoor accommodations include a Weber gas grill, picnic table near the lake, a fire-pit and a dining table on the deck overlooking the lake. We have 2 stand-up paddle-boards, a canoe and a paddleboat available for your use. We have a dock available if you would like to bring your own boat or rent a boat and have it delivered to our lake.

Our home is perfect for year-round recreation as it is located directly on a snowmobile/ATV trail and features a huge trailer-friendly circle drive with plenty of parking (and a basketball hoop). The home features heated floors and a wood burning stove on the main level for the cold months and air conditioning for the hot months! We also have a back-up generator should the power ever go out during your stay.

The main floor features complete living facilities including a main floor bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom with a tub and a washer and dryer. Enjoy the gorgeous lake views from the open floor-plan and complete wall of windows and doors to the deck overlooking the lake! The master suite is upstairs and includes a queen bed and large master bath with a separate tub and shower and walk-in closet. The lower level features 2 bedrooms overlooking the lake, a a family/game room with a sleeper sofa, air hockey table, foosball table, dart board, a new arcade game and another bathroom with a shower! The first lower level bedroom has a queen bed and the second has a twin over full bunk bed and an additional twin bed. There is new carpet and fresh paint throughout the entire home. Please note that we allow a max of 8 adults with a total max of 12 guests, including children.

Our location is great…Cable, Duluth and Hayward are all within a short drive!! We are an easy drive from the Twin Cities (approximately 3 hours and all on paved roads). We are also not far from Bayfield, where you can hop on a ferry to Madeline Island for a fun day trip! Let me know if you have questions about our location or activities! We would love to share our home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

I try to accommodate last minute rentals but it is not always possible with our cleaner’s schedule…please send a message (rather than try to book) to inquire if you are trying to book last minute. Please note, after your booking is accepted I will email you additional info pertaining to the cabin and surrounding area. Thank you!

Comfortable for our group of 8. Great kitchen that was well stocked and easy to cook in. Beautiful setting. It was lovely hearing the ice on the lake popping and singing.

Enjoying Colors of Fall on UTVs
Beautiful property to go with the colors of the season. We've stayed in the past, and this home has absolutely everything from the moment you drive into the property to falling asleep in the beautiful 5-star bedrooms. This property has something for every season, and it's our plan to make it an annual outing. Thank you.

Perfect for a family vacation
This worked so well for us! The beach was better than it looked online and our 1 and 2 year-old grandchildren loved it. The beach was sandy and very shallow so we felt safe. The house was nice, but even better - it was family friendly. No knick-knacks for the kids to worry about, furniture and floor coverings nice but still washable. We are already talking about our next visit. One thing that was really nice is that there are three different living levels with a bedroom and bath at each level. We were able to have each family in a different level and it worked out very well, especially for things like toothbrushes. Angie almost instantly responded to all our questions and was very easy to work with.

My husband and I have 3 teenage children. We live in the Twin Cities. Our oldest attends the University of Wisconsin- Madison and our other 2 children are in high school. Our youngest plays a lot of sports so it is hard for us to get to our cabin too often, which is why we have chosen to share it with others!

Why they chose this property

We chose this cabin because we love the peaceful wooded lake and love that it is a real log cabin! We also love how deep, clear and quiet the lake is!

What makes this property unique

We love that you can swim and float right from our yard! We have rented a ton of cabins in various locations prior to purchasing this one and we've never had such good swimming (and clear, clean water) right from shore and our dock!
