Completely refreshed in the spring of 2024, Memories on Magnolia has been modernized to enhance its functionality while maintaining its coastal charm. Designed for relaxation and memorable experiences, you’ll feel completely at home in this serene seaside retreat.

With a spacious open layout that accommodates 20 guests (and an elevator to whisk you from ground level to the first floor), this home is perfect for multiple families, reunions, wedding parties, and groups looking for relaxation and adventure in Garden City.

Living Spaces
When you arrive at Memories on Magnolia, step into your private in-home elevator to ascend to your modern coastal retreat. Located on the elevated first floor, you’ll find the stylish open living space. With contemporary decor, huge picture windows showcasing the views, and tons of natural light, you’ll love relaxing here.

After days filled with exploration and adventure, kick your feet up on the comfy sectional and stream your favorite shows on the Smart TV, check in with friends using our high-speed WiFi, or host a competitive family game night using our board games.

Upstairs, you’ll find a bonus space to relax – the media room. With a twin sleeper sofa, a large flatscreen TV, and a door to separate the space from the bedrooms, it makes an ideal kids’ hangout spot or extra sleep space.

Kitchen & Dining
Open to the living space, the high-end chef’s kitchen is ideal for preparing meals for any size group. You’ll love the upgraded stainless-steel appliances, the large island with bar seating, and the benefit of two refrigerators. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances like a Keurig Duo and blender, plus tons of cutlery and cooking and serving utensils.

Steps from the kitchen is the elegant dining space. Gather with your favorites for meals at the table for six, island seating for four, and bar seating for four. There’s easy access to the deck from here, so it’s a seamless transition to outdoor living after your meal.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
With six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, this home easily accommodates groups of up to 20 guests with plenty of privacy for multiple families traveling together. Each bedroom has its own dedicated ensuite bathroom for ultimate privacy, and we provide fresh linens and towels for every guest. There are even two sets of full washers and dryers for your use (one on each level)! Adults in your group will love having their own suites, while the kids will love the two nautical blue double bunk rooms.

Outdoor Space
When you’re staying just a block from the beach in Garden City, it’s all about outdoor living! That’s why we designed the outdoor spaces in Memories on Magnolia to have a little something for everyone.

After a quick stroll home from the beach, rinse off the sand in the outdoor shower and cannonball your way into the private heated pool! Lounge poolside on the chaises and soak in the sunshine while the kids play.

Just outside the pool gates is our lower-level entertainment space, perfectly positioned in the cool shade under the house. It’s decked out with a stocked propane Weber BBQ grill and a picnic area with two tables for casual al fresco meals. In this shady space, you’ll also find a lounge area and Adirondack seating where you can kick back and relax with a drink.

Upstairs (just outside the first floor’s sliding glass doors), you’ll find an expansive sundeck furnished with rocking chairs and a table for four. With string lights providing the ambiance, it’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Also on this level is a covered wrap-around porch with cozy rocking chairs and cafe seating, so there are plenty of spots to spread out and enjoy the sea breeze.

Around the Area
Memories on Magnolia is located in beautiful Garden City, South Carolina, one of the 14 picturesque communities along the 60-mile stretch of beach known as the Grand Strand.

Garden City’s main attraction is the beach, of course! Grab a boogie board and body surf on the waves, or build sand castles with the kids. Adventurous adults can try parasailing above the ocean or exploring the inlet on a jet ski, while those looking for relaxation can enjoy fishing from the pier just a short walk from the house or crabbing in the marsh.

Seafood is the order of the day in the Grand Strand. There are numerous restaurants up and down the Strand offering lots of choices, plus plenty of bars and spots for treats like ice cream. The hub of Garden City is the pier, which offers fun and entertainment for the whole family, including live music on two stages, two full-service bars, karaoke, and a full arcade.

Garden City is also close to Myrtle Beach (about 10 miles away), with its many exciting attractions. Visit the old-fashioned Family Kingdom Amusement Park, browse endless souvenir and surf shops, ride the SkyWheel, or play a round at one of the celebrity-designed golf courses.

Other Things to Note
While Memories on Magnolia promises a delightful beach escape, there are a few natural aspects and important property guidelines we like our guests to be aware of for a fully informed stay.

Living with Nature: Given our proximity to both the marsh and the ocean, you might occasionally encounter insects. We proactively manage this by scheduling bi-weekly visits from our exterminator to ensure your comfort. Additionally, the beautiful oceanfront location means exposure to salt spray, but we diligently maintain the property to manage any effects from the saline environment.

Weather and Environment Considerations: Our unique position a block from the marsh and ocean can lead to occasional flooding in extreme weather conditions. Rest assured, we have measures in place to handle such situations effectively.

Pool Maintenance: The pool at Memories on Magnolia was replastered in 2022. Although it shows some staining from past hurricanes, we assure you this is purely cosmetic. The staining does not affect the pool's functionality or water chemistry, and it is not due to algae.

Security and Privacy: The property has 8 exterior security cameras in the following locations: 2 cameras covering the backyard, 1 camera covering the side yard, 1 camera at the elevator entrance, 1 camera entering the stairwell, and 3 cameras covering the driveway. Video footage is recorded for liability reasons only, is not shared, and in no way infringes upon the guests’ expectations of privacy in these public areas of the property. The goal of using security cameras is not to monitor guests’ coming and going but to prevent break-ins, stop a potential party, and identify suspicious activity.

No Pets: We love animals but for maintenance and allergen considerations, pets are not permitted.

No Smoking or Vaping: To maintain a clean and fresh environment, smoking or vaping is not allowed on the premises.

No Parties or Events: Please respect the peaceful nature of our community by refraining from hosting parties or events.

Electronic Boarding Pass: All guests are required to use our electronic boarding pass which includes a verification process to enhance security and ensure compliance with our house rules.
