Secluded and private but close to the Blue Ridge Parkway exit at Little Switzerland only 3 miles away! We now have wireless internet and left a monitor and printer on site for your use if you need to work while on vacation. We have both been on zoom meetings and had no issues with the wifi but do encourage you to try to unplug while you are there! So much to enjoy and now wifi too! Bikers welcome. Enjoy the large covered area to park your bikes while you enjoy an escape only minutes from the Little Switzerland Diamond Back exit! 9 miles to major shopping, 3 miles to closest restaurants and shops, 25 minutes to Burnsville and 15 minutes to Grassy Creek. If you are looking for a fun day trip you are only an hour from Ashville or Boone and less than that to Sugar Mountain! This centrally located hidden treasure will impress you! We now have wireless internet too! Also, in the Spring of 2022 we updated any older furniture including a brand new leather couch, new picnic tables, outdoor seating, etc.. Additionally, we have all new bedding, linens and towels, replaced any worn appliances and hired a new cleaning company that is close by and has excellent reviews. We have also lowered our nightly rate to encourage smaller groups and families and then added a fee per person above 6. The cabin comfortably sleeps 10-12 but we wanted to make it available for smaller groups as well. Please understand there is now an additional charge for more than 6 people. The reason for this has to do with the amount of cleaning, linens, utilities, internet usage and general wear and tear. Please know, we take every review to heart and appreciate any feedback provided. We will always do everything we can to make your stay 5 stars! Please give us a try. You will not be disappointed. Roads are gravel for the last 1/2 mile only and not very steep at all. We had them graded as soon as we heard there was so bigger bumps from all the rain over the Summer. New picts uploaded show the roads as of Sept 2023. We will continue to upgrade and update and always want happy guests. Come stay for a while and enjoy our mountain getaway.

About the host
Hosted by Dawn Berard and David McLean

David and Dawn have both owned and operated 5 star vacation rentals on the NC Coast and purchased this beautiful mountain retreat as our first vacation home together in the end of 2020. We spent a the past year restoring this amazing retreat. We are excited to share it's rustic charm with all the modern day amenities. We would love to have you come stay and share your feedback. We plan to expand this 12 acre mountain side property to include a few other quaint cottages over the years so please be one of the first to see it's debut. We are committed to providing a fully stocked kitchen and a great, clean unique property for a vacation you will not forget. Feel free to ask about the NC Coast as well.
Why they chose this property
As beach lovers we had not spent enough time exploring the mountains until 2020 when we were looking for somewhat local places to enjoy quality time with our children and pets while remaining safely distant during covid. We began our search for a mountain home on the other side on the NC Coast and as we toured properties and the areas, we ruled many out quickly. When we found Lunar Ridge, we knew instantly it was the one. Not only are there marked roads (remote but marked), they are drivable and not treacherous in the winter, the address shows up in GPS and you can get a signal on your phone, yet you are secluded in the most tranquil setting at the end of a windy road with zero traffic unless it is someone you invited to visit! You will find that although you feel like you are in a remote area, you are only 3 miles the the Blue Ridge Little Switzerland exit with shops and restaurants of Little Switzerland and only a few more miles down the road to major retailers. Also, easy quick drive to Ashville, Boone, Sugar Mountain skiing and Beech Mountain, and home of the best gem stone mines and waterfalls around! It checked all the boxes for us and we do hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
