We were pleasantly surprised that the home was above and beyond our expectations based on the listing. It was so spacious with plenty of room for our guests to congregate in shared living spaces indoors and outdoors. We were even able to walk to a nearby beach for the afternoon. Would highly recommend a stay here and hope to be back in the future!
A couple of small things need some work/repair but nothing that impacted our stay. This area of Mashpee is great. It was very close to our event at the Lure. The Pommpy Raw Bar is a must! Killer Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder. Over all a great house, good location, family had a great weekend.
Lovely upstairs space would have been enhanced with a bathroom. Our guests had to come down steep stairs to use one. Great outdoor shower. No laundry soap. Some deferred maintenance (towel rack in master bath). Overall, nice quiet location.
Great location, but layout problematic for young families
We had a great stay and the house is in good shape inside.
Note that we found that the layout of bedrooms vs bathrooms was not ideal for our party (2 families with 2 adults and 2 children each; some of the children were only 3 and younger). The two bathrooms are on the ground floor, but the largest bed room is on the top floor with a very steep stair case down. Unfortunately one of us slipped and fell down the last few steps during the night while trying to take one of the little kids to the bathroom. There's nothing wrong with the house, just a result of the layout.
Also note that the bathrooms a quite small - fine for one person, but tricky if you don't have time to fully "serialize" the bathroom routine with so many people as we had.
The only thing I'd recommend to the owner is to take care of some of the decay on the siding of the house before it becomes a problem (I've just been through that with my own house).
