About this property

LaySea 8 - Across from Nature Preserve and steps to the best beach!

LaySea 8 is an octagonal house with a spectacular 360 degree view of the Gulf of Mexico, Nature Preserve and Pine Island Sound. Located on the last street on the island across from the Nature Preserve and just a short walk to the nicest beach on the island. House has been recently updated and has everything you need to relax and escape to paradise! The house has a huge screened-in wraparound porch on the main level that offers areas to dine, nap, read or have an intimate conversation. On the main level is the kitchen, dining room and living room....each with a big slider to the porch. Two bedrooms (both have king beds) are on this level along with 2 baths. The upper level is a beautiful octagon shaped room with a futon for extra sleeping. From there, go up to the Crow's Nest for beautiful 360 degree views of the island. Watch the sunrise over Pine Island Sound and catch the most spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. Get around the island using the provided golf cart.

ABOUT NORTH CAPTIVA:
North Captiva Island is a small remote island measuring 4 miles long and 1/2 mile wide that is only accessible by water taxi, private boat or private airplane. No cars on the island, only golf carts and bicycles! North Captiva is known for it's world class fishing. Fish from the beach or book a charter to catch, tarpon, sea trout, red fish, snook, grouper and snapper. Across from LaySea 8 is the Nature Preserve that is home to abundant wildlife - gopher tortoises, osprey, bald eagles, and pelicans. Don't forget the manatees. They can be seen at various dock locations on the island. Some of the best shelling in North America is right here on North Captiva.

Another Great Trip with Memories
Raj and crew were super attentive throughout our stay. Owner was very communicative leading up to our trip. The house was perfect for our group of 4 and the bonus room is very relaxing to listen to the ocean and wind through the trees. Very happy with our stay!

Fun and relaxing
Best house we've stayed in on the island. The location was great and the views from the upper decks were amazing, during the day and night. The wrap around deck was lovely with patio sets all the way around, and my husband and son loved the hammocks(there are 3). The layout of the house worked well for the 4 of us. My son loved staying on the top floor and having his private space. I liked the octagon shape of the house so much because of the decks. The decor and furnishings are good with really comfortable beds. When we were out and about we would run into the caretaker Raj and his wife. We really enjoyed talking with them, such nice people!!! The owner and caretaker are the best! Great communication before, during, and after our trip. Highly recommend this house!

Peaceful Paradise
This is our 2nd year at LaySea 8. We enjoy house because it is so close to the beach and reserve. It is a very comfortable home. When we are not at the beach we spend all of our time an the deck relaxing in hammocks or just chilling with family. We will definitely be back in 2024!

Great!
Beautiful as always. Our favorite location. House is also beautiful but needs a few small things. Just a bit of TLC. But Cheryl and Jenny are great and the communication is fantastic. Second time booking this house.
