Ducks, geese are daily visitors and occasionally a bald eagle will also do a "fly by". This lake is home to many nesting Loons. There is nothing like the call of a Loon to make you feel like you're in the wilderness.
A little country store is only a couple miles away in case you forget some basic necessities. It also has live bait and a liquor store attached.
Alexandria is only 10 minutes away. It has big city amenities with a small town feel. You can find grocery, hardware, and sporting goods stores. Also rental and repair shops for boats, bikes, water toys and autos. Plenty of restaurants and bars make the nightlife is inviting. The boutiques, antique shops and specialty stores make this town a shopper paradise.
With many parks, bike trails, and even an amusement park, you can always find something to do in town.
Excellent wineries are only a short drive away and a couple micro-brew houses are right in Alex.
Andes Tower Hills is a only a 10 minute drive for skiing, snowboarding and tubing for some winter time fun.
