About this property
Saugatuck Harbor Luxury A-Frame, View of Downtown
Known locally as The A-Frame of Saugatuck, this historic landmark was originally built in the 1950s, and in 2022, the Sinchaks decided to renovate the home while preserving as much of its historic nature as possible. The home remains less than 15 feet from the water’s edge and its iconic, A-shaped roof remains its most recognizable feature.
As A-frames are known for their interior abundance of natural light, this home’s entire waterfront has become a wall of windows with expansive, unrivaled view of the water and downtown Saugatuck. Plus, the interior of the home has been expanded to include bedrooms, lofts, and luxury modern home amenities like a rooftop deck veranda. During holidays, the panoramic firework views are unparalleled.
A unique property requires a spectacular location, which is why The A-Frame of Saugatuck is positioned directly across the lake from downtown Saugatuck. Yet, it doesn’t only have the most spectacular views of the entire downtown, the A-frame is a short walk away from Saugatuck’s famous public Chain Ferry, which shuttles our guests downtown, no driving or parking necessary.
The A-Frame of Saugatuck provides a rare combination of Saugatuck Harbor and private dock, downtown restaurants and dune hiking at Mount Baldhead, access to Lake Michigan and a harbor full of boats, music, and amazing views. Like we said, spectacular.
A-Frames are known for cozy interiors, but also a lack of square footage – not so at this expertly renovated and expanded home. In keeping with the historic nature of the house, the open floor plan of the main room is a nautical dream and includes two bedrooms, full bath, and kitchen, while the second floor has been expanded to include a second-story veranda, bedroom, full bath, and a loft-style living area. The third floor loft, accessible by ladder, is simply an added bonus. The perfect place to nap, read, and take in the views.
Outside, a natural gas grill is accompanied by outdoor seating, a firetable, and jacuzzi. So whether your family and friends want to gather round the island for a late-night treat, indulge in a feast of local delicacies, or grill the perfectly cut steak, The A-Frame of Saugatuck is a special place to celebrate your loved ones through food.
The A-Frame is a truly extraordinary experience, providing the best views, amenities, and historical significance that will outshine anything else you might find in the area. Stay with us and revel in the Lux.

About the host
Hosted by Erica Sinchak

Our family has been visiting the Saugatuck/Douglas, Michigan area most of our life. We hold a million sepia-colored memories in our heads. As Chicagolanders, we escape suburbia for the dunes, beaches, and woodlands of the Lake Michigan shoreline every chance we get.
We enjoy the area so much that I thought others should too. At a time when the town was still quiet and homey, I started on a journey of building true vacation destinations that are unique from anything you would find in suburbia, true cabins that drive relaxation and escape.
With no appetite for owning or managing rundown, churn-n-burn properties, we prefer to focus on high-end vacation homes with incredible amenities. In order to deliver value to our guests, the properties themselves became more than places to stay, they became experiences. Providing an experience is a combination of a unique property, different than anything our guests have at home, quality in-house amenities, unique exterior amenities such as location, and on-property activities such as jacuzzi, pools, and fire features. Finally, the experience is topped off with special treatment and high-attention from the management company (quite literally, us).
Someone once told me, “After kids, you don’t go on vacation. You visit places.” I didn’t want that for Lakewood Lux. I wanted to make each property family-friendly with the comforts of home. We splurge on high-end items like kitchen appliances, pots and pans, serveware, linens and towels to ensure a guest experience that is like or better than home. Then, we make sure all the amenities are maintained by professionals. Folks work hard to earn their vacations, and I wanted to ensure their visits were pleasantly clean, comfortable, and fun, because that’s what I would want.
Revel in The Lux.
