The first thing you’ll notice is the soothing sound of cascading water. Originally built in 1830 as part of a mill dating to 1766, this beautifully restored home offers a rare blend of history and tranquility. The waterfall and a long gone waterwheel once powered the milling of lumber used to build the surrounding town.
Set on a quiet side street in a charming historic town center, the home is surrounded by lush, private gardens and scenic views in every direction—waterfall, barns, flowers, hills, and woods. Inside, an open floor plan provides light-filled, comfortable living with a refined yet relaxed feel.
Walk to the General Store, nature trails, recreation area, and local historic sites. Spend your days unwinding to the sound of the falls, or stroll through the vegetable and herb garden, picking fresh ingredients— for your next meal.
This is a peaceful, restorative retreat just 2.5 hours from NYC, perfect for those seeking quiet, beauty, and a slower pace.
Please note: The waterfall and stream areas are not accessible for safety reasons.

This property is a very nice New England gem!! The house itself was fantastic with lots of antiques, and the gardens throughout the property were beautiful. I think our favorite part was the calming sounds of the waterfall on the property. We would definitely recommend a stay here!!
Wonderful! The home is right out of a storybook. Beautifully decorated with old New England charm. The waterfall leading into a stream is so peaceful. My kids loved it too! The owner was very kind and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again ( and we traveled all the way from Arizona) . I highly recommend!
My husband and I stayed at this gorgeous property for a week celebrating his 50th birthday. To say we enjoyed it is an understatement! The grounds of the home are incredible and the home itself is beautiful, charming, and well-furnished. The master bed is very comfortable and the attached bath is fully updated. We didn't use much in the kitchen but it is fully stocked with anything and everything and has very nice appliances. Thank you, Scott, for providing us with such a wonderful stay!!! We will be back.
Lovely property, great house. Such a beautiful place to spend a few days. Parts of the house are very old, which give it some charm and quirks. For example, the staircase is very steep and the landings of the steps are shallow. My elderly, but still otherwise mobile, father in law had a. Wry difficult time with them. This was mostly fine because there is a bedroom on the ground floor, but the only shower is upstairs. This wouldn’t stop me from returning to this lovely property, just something to consider depending on the make up of your group. We’ll be back!
