About this property
la Grange - Pontoux - Gîte
Charming 17th century farm barn with an elegant brick facade - steeped in history and carefully restored - quietly located on the edge of a lane, in the heart of a peaceful little rural residential village nestled in the countryside on the banks of the Doubs, accessible 500m away (kayakers' paradise and ultra-renowned fishing site for its famous catfish, pike-perch and carp / remarkable ecosystem partly classified as a "Natura 2000 Zone", for its exceptional ornithological reserve rich in 160 species and its very rare plant varieties). Nestled in a beautiful, unspoiled rural and natural setting of agricultural hedged plains, Pontoux has the distinction of having the last floating mill installed on the Doubs (one of the very last of this type in France) and boasts a 27-hectare pond in a protected site (1.5 km away), an exceptional "sensitive natural area" unique in Burgundy, classified as a "Natura 2000 Zone" (nesting of numerous birds with more than 130 species recorded including one of the largest colonies of black-crowned night herons in Saône-et-Loire) with an educational trail (to be discovered discreetly...). Comfortable cottage. Pleasant contemporary character. Zen and gentle atmosphere. Large exposed and/or shaded terrace. Enclosed courtyard (with electric gate). Composition: House comprising 1 gîte + 1 small "family" accommodation (semi-detached) adjoining the owner's house (total independence from each other). Wifi. Electric heating. Duplex gîte. Ground floor: living room-kitchen-lounge, laundry area, separate toilet. 1st floor: 6 bedrooms (3 including double bed 140x190cm + 1 single bed 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm + 2 single beds 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm + 2 single beds 100x190cm + extra single bed 90x190cm / 2 single beds 90x190cm) with private bathrooms (showers/toilets), 2 of which have a second separate toilet. Private terrace + parking. Shared enclosed courtyard (electric gate). Amenities 10 km away. Comfortable gîte with bedrooms with private bathrooms nestled in an elegant characterful 17th century agricultural barn - comprising 2 gîtes - steeped in history & carefully restored, located in a quiet countryside setting, in the heart of a peaceful little residential village nestled on the banks of the Doubs (an extremely famous fishing site), 10 km from the charming, typical market town of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs nestled at the confluence of the Doubs & the Saône (all amenities on site and river marina). Pleasant rural and natural environment preserved adjoining two protected sites classified in "Natura 2000 Zone" for their remarkable ecosystem, close to numerous hiking trails marked as "green walks", 4 km from the greenway connected to the EuroVélo6, 35 km from the vineyards of the Côtes Chalonnaises neighboring the famous Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côte de Beaune (various wine routes to explore including the illustrious Route des Grands Crus) and 40 km from the vineyards of the Jura. At the crossroads of Chalonnais & Bresse Bourguignonne (cradle of the famous AOC of Bresse poultry), superb preserved territories rich in sublime landscapes, recognized gastronomy and an exceptional historical heritage, in close proximity to the mountainous foothills of the Jura massif, at the crossroads of Bresse Jurassienne & Pays Beaunois as well as the departments of Côte d'Or & Jura. Ideal for exploring several departments: 13 km from Seurre, 29 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "Town of Art and History"), 32 km from Beaune, 39 km from Louhans (& its iconic medieval street with 157 arcades), 40 km from Dole, 54 km from Tournus (world-renowned abbey site) & 61 km from Le Creusot TGV station. Possibility to rent the other gîte next to the owner (reference n°1107 located 30m away) for a total capacity of 22 people. A "pied à terre" of choice for a comfortable getaway in the countryside with your family close to nature!
