Welcome to Union Gateway - Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home at the entrance to Cottonwood Village in a fantastic convenient location in Salt Lake's Midvalley Fort Union area walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Cottonwood Canyons are a short 10 minute drive for accessing all 4 ski resorts and endless year-round mountain recreation. Freeway access is just 3 minute drive in all directions in Salt Lake valley. There are 7 additional homes you can pair this home with or rent out the entire community for large reunions or groups. Rent as many homes as your group needs and save!

You will love the park next door with a playground for kids to enjoy and the unbeatable Fort Union location near countless restaurants, premier shopping, and entertainment to enjoy. This home is dog-friendly, with a $100 fee per dog. No cats. If you are planning on bringing your furry friend, please make the appropriate selection at check-out or inform us directly so that we may update your reservation accordingly. Lovely town, perfect location

Clean, stocked, spacious, fun (hot tub, air hockey, ping pong, Xbox, next to large park), central location in the Salt Lake basin. Couldn’t have asked for better accommodations for family vacation.

Great short trip

The house was beautiful. Much bigger than I expected, and beautifully decorated. The neighborhood was very comfortable, and the location was awesome.

Enjoyed the stay

The place is very convenient to skiing and stores/restaurants. It was very comfortable, but in need of general cosmetic care. Walls are marked up, baseboards are cracked and peeling, drywall patches haven't been sanded and painted. I would also suggest a check of the plumbing in the master bath. The shower drained slowly and the toilet didn't flush very efficiently.

Good Location

Overall our stay was positive. It worked for our 4 day trip. Pros:Great location close to ski resorts, restaurants, and shopping. Plenty of room for my family. Hot tub great after a day outside in the cold. Beds were comfortable. Cons:Couches were worn out and stained. Lots of dirty dishes and silverware in the cupboards. Could have been cleaner. Smelled like air freshener covering up smoking.

Great stay and close to everything!

Stayed here for a Christmas visit with our son and the space was great. We enjoyed the hot tub and the home was the perfect size for our group. The kitchen has lots of amenities. Beds were super comfortable and we loved having tv's in all the bedrooms. Garage was great as it was so cold.

Comfortable/roomy house

Found some minor issues and theproperty managers quickly responded to our needs. Always checking to see if we needed anything! Close to shopping, grocery and food venues. Grocery close by allowed us to put a roast in the provided crock pot which was wonderful on our return. Parking inside a garage gave us easy access to house!

Great stay!

This property was perfect for a quick ski trip with our kids. We had a great time playing ping pong, the kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean.

great place away with friends

This place was great. As expected and lovely. It is conveniently located near shopping, etc., but far enough away that nighttime was plenty quiet. Everything functioned, and the hot tub was a nice bonus. We would definitely stay here again. We did not have kids with us, but the basement would have been a great place for games and fun.

Amazing Rental in Prime Location

This rental surpassed all of our expectstions. Cleanliness, communication with the property managers, location, and available amenities were more than enough to help us relax after a busy day celebrating our recent University graduate. The beds were comfortable. The whole hoise was spacious, and there was more than enoigh in the kitchen for use to prep meals. We were able to sit comfortably and talk with family without feeling cramped. The rental location is located a stone's throw from just about everywhere. We would DEFINITELY recommend this property to anyone with a family. Thank you for a relaxing place to retreat to!

Entry code provided was incorrect and we were locked out and unable to enter the property until 11 p.m. We had to wait in the driveway for three hours. We called the number for the host and the person we got was extremely rude and had an attitude and was not helpful. After three hours they were finally able to to get a hold of onsite maintenance and get us in.

House was exactly like they said. Several reviews mentioned difficulty with front door lock. If a company repair man hadn't been next door, we would not have gotten in. Person on the phone was worthless !! Unlock process they give you is WAY too complex, and it didn't work. Push this, then press this, then push this, then pull this, then press down door handle. And TV's have 500 channels, but NO ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FS1, CBS Sports. Why is there not an instruction sheet on TV remotes ? Coffee maker didn't work, they brought a new one over in a couple of hours. All in all, liked the house. Change the door unlock process !!!

Significant Check in Difficulty (Read their response before booking).

After giving us a code for entry the day before our stay, we were given a second code and told the door lock had been giving them trouble. When we arrived on a Friday evening, neither code worked. We waited over an hour to enter. The "maintenance man" arrived without a key and used a credit card to break into the property. I wrote to say that it was a "joke" to wait an hour for entry, to be let in by a credit card when there was a known door problem. This was their response: "We are sorry there was a problem with the door and it wouldn't work. Unfortunately the best laid plans can sometimes fail. I am not sure if you are a homeowner but I am sure you have had something fail on your home at the most unhelpful time. We had everyone we could get available to you to help fix your issue. To wait an hour well after our business hours are over on a Friday night is actually not that bad. If it was your personal home, probably couldn't get someone out within an hour to help. Arriving late in the evening is always difficult because if anything goes wrong, it's hard to get a hold of someone. These are residences, not hotels so the same rules that would apply in a home apply here. I hope you can appreciate that everyone did everything they could to get you inside the home and we definitely do not consider ourselves a joke at all and are very sorry there was a problem with your lock and I hope you will not let that 1 hour delay ruin your whole trip and you can reset today and enjoy...

Ski vacation

My family and I stayed at this rental for our annual ski vacation. The location was good, close to many shops and restaurants and a convenient drive to the mountain. The house itself needs some attention. Our code didn’t work on the door when we arrived and it was very hard to get the deadbolt to open or close from the outside. We had planned to cook the first night and found that the majority of the items in the kitchen were dirty and crusty from the previous guests. After driving 8 hours, we were disappointed to have to do someone else’s dishes. When finally sitting down to relax, we found stains on the couch in the living room and to say it was uncomfortable is an understatement. We were excited about the ping pong table and air hockey table in the basement but found that all the paddles were damaged and broken and neither game was usable. On our second day in the rental we received a call letting us know maintenance was coming to fix the ice maker. We knew it was broken when we arrived but hadn’t complained. We informed the management team that we did not feel comfortable with maintenance coming into our rental when we weren’t there. The final straw was after a long day on the slopes we headed back to the house only to find that a worker was emptying the hot tub and we would not be able to use it for 4-5 hours while the water warmed back up. Utterly disappointing when that is why we booked the house. I would not rent from this management group again. The home is in a nice location but isn’t worth the other items that came up during the trip.

Almost perfect.....

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The check in process was very simple and consisted of an email with instructions on how to access the lock on the door. The property was exactly as described in the photos. Additionally, the management company thought of everything in regards to stocking the house. We didn't want for anything. Included were all cooking items including a blender, cookie sheets, measuring cups and even a slow cooker. Plenty of linens, towels, pillows, toilet paper and such. The beds were super comfortable, slightly on the firmer side which I love. I'm usually a hot sleeper, especially when the bedrooms are upstairs but the house was very well insulated and the AC unit worked extremely well. The bunk bed room was perfect for our three year old and we took the room next to his so we could hear if he got up in the night, great setup for little kids. Our little guy also loved the game room setup in the basement and spent many hours playing down there as it rained for the first two days of our stay. The location was perfect, located in a quiet, safe cul-de-sac next to a really cool park for kiddo's and a walking track. Grocery stores are super close, Whole Foods was a short 7 min drive. The only down side of this property was that it could use a good scrubbing. While all the bathrooms, kitchen were very clean, the walls/door had some stains and the blinds were pretty grimy. I spilled something on the floor in the kitchen and got some kitchen spray to clean it up and the paper towel came up black, which was kind of gross. Even with that though, we would probably stay here again although I'd love it if management would do a deep clean of this property, then I'd be able to give this place 5 stars instead of 4.

Just needs a little TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: With a little attention, this could be a great place to stay. When we first arrived, we thought we might have been at the wrong place. The yard was a mess, the address did not include "east" as indicated and the code did not work on the door. After calling, they reset the code and we were able to access. When I tried to reach them them the following day, I never got an answer or a return phone call. This is very much a rental unit and only contains what is necessary. I am sure that everything we bought will be cleaned out before the next guests arrive (cooking oil, kleenex, coffee filters that actually fit the coffee maker, tin foil, etc.). Pros- Good location, nice set-up, large open gathering space, garage, hot tub (though it needs the sand cleaned out).Cons-needs thorough cleaning and maintenance, bags of pine needles look awful in front yard, outside furniture falling apart (would have been nice to sit outside), broken hair dryer, grill ran out of propane on second use, reaching rental company is inconsistent (when I reached them via email, they replied that they would get a hairdryer to us on the second day of our stay but I never heard from them again and did not get a hairdryer), small annoyances like lamps that could not be plugged into full outlets and heat that returned to 72 even when we kept turning it down, not very clean (the kitchen sink was full of brown, dirty water and counter looked unwiped when we arrived.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would give 2.5 stars if I could, but I'm rounding up. This is a vacation rental business that simply uses Airbnb as a marketing and booking platform in addition to their own. One of the first things they ask you to do is download their own app. I don't want to download another app. I booked on this app. We had too many issues ranging from large to small, and it didn't seem like we were much of a priority. We had communication failures, dishwasher that was broken that they knew about before we arrived and didn't proactively fix, an unusable squeaky bunk bed, a washing machine malfunction, an unusable shower because standing water was trapped in the pan underneath the shower floor, general uncleanliness, past renter's clothes in the sheets, and past renter's food in the oven when we arrived. The maintenance crews did come to fix most of these issues over the course of our two week stay. They were professional and kind, but nothing from the company by way of apology, reimbursement discount, or courteous concern. The place is well furnished overall, although it was more dated than the pictures show. We needed to stay in this area for our travels, so location wasn't really a factor. The park/playground featured in the post was great. This is, however, not a part of the townhome community, but a public park two blocks away. I had inquired about this beforehand and was told it was a part of the community. All in all, we were disappointed and felt like the value and quality didn't add up for what we paid.
