Great place, exactly as pictured. Was very clean, neat and organized. Very affordable. We appreciated the extras such as water, coffee, soda and snacks. Highly recommend and would stay here again.
The drive from PSU to this location was gorgeous and easy The home was very clean, very detail oriented and offered so much to make the stay very pleasant. We enjoyed being there and would absolutely come back. The owners were easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a nice and comfy place to stay.
Simple check in and responsive host. Super clean and decorated beautifully. Easy drive to Penn State. Great hospitality and we will return! Thanks Gio!
My 1st Vrbo experience was A+++ at "Hillside Home".
Warm, cozy, welcoming, comforting, like home and my 12 yr old said alluring! Super clean and full of amenities and details to keep you comfortable. This quaint countrt home was the perfect spot juat 25 minutes from awesome Penn State University, where were visiting and enjoying Nittany Lions Sports! We absolutely loved it.
The property was very very clean and situated in the small town of Snow Shoe. We rented the house for our family of seven and had a very fun and relaxing time. The location worked great for some of the family that attended the homecoming football game at Penn State University. Unfortunately it was very rainy and we could not enjoy the outside of the property that was very well kept and had a lovely patio and backyard.
Thank you Gio!
We struggled a bit with the lock box on arrival, but we’re older so probably just operator error. The house was very clean which is a huge plus! Not a ton of things to do right near the house (like coffee shops, farmers market, etc.), but we took a few long drives and the scenery was beautiful and very relaxing. It was perfect for what we came for. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a rental in this area.
We rented the property for Parents Weekend at Penn State. It was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of campus. Sitting by a fire after a long day was so amazing! The rental had all we needed amenities wise. The only downfalls were that the WiFi did not work and having only one bathroom with 6 people is a little challenging. I plan on definitively renting this property again when I head up to Penn State!
This house was perfect for a weekend and two-day event at Jordan Center.
We could get two from the BJC within 30 minutes.
The house is located a few minutes from I-80.
The house is in a rural community; however, we found a pizza, sandwich shop, ice cream store, dollar store, and gas stations within 5 minutes of the house.
The Perfect Place to Stay While Moving In To State College
We were moving my son from California to State College and this property was our perfect hub. It’s conveniently located near the freeway, roughly 30 minutes away and had everything we needed. The property was spotless, very homey and welcoming, cutely decorated and had the essentials. The beds were very comfortable and the owner was a dream to deal with, always there and quick to respond. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and will likely look to stay there again for future visits. The hotels in State College are ridiculously overpriced, so the savings alone justify the slightly longer drive. Thank you again for being great hosts!!
Was in town for a graduation. House was comfortable and clean. Safe and quiet area. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Just minor note: Internet very temperamental. Had to restart router to join with my phone. My wife was never able to join. May be good to check before next guest.
Recommendation to get coasters and placemats.
I had such an amazing time with my family celebrating my nieces birthday! Gio was extremely helpful and was always available to answer our questions. The house was super spacious and comfortable. My favorite part of the house was the patio! My family and I watched beautiful sunsets all weekend. The only issue we had was that the house was so secluded from the town. The nearest town is 20-30 minutes out. Overall we had an amazing experience and look forward to booking in the future!
Owners extremely comminicative. Property immaculate. Welcoming. Quaint. 10 out of 10. I'm extremely picky. Inpressed.
Only negatives. Laptop would not connect to WIFI. Area very rural. No place to shop/groceries. Buy your gtoceries before check-in.
Perfect rental for our family ! We used this rental when we moved multiple children back to Penn State for the school year. Little outside the Penn state area with a 30 min or so drive but it was worth it. The home was exactly as described on the listing, very clean well equipped home. Lovely sitting area out back, even provided simple snacks and drinks which were a huge hit with our college students. We will definitely utilize this rental again for future visits to the kids, Thanks again
Very clean and cute farmhouse decor. Wide range of kitchen gadgets and supplies. Thoughtfulness of supplying extra supplies (toothbrushes, razors, snacks) if needed and house binder with instructions and recommendations. My one recommendation would be more plates and utensils. We had 8 people staying at the house and there were not enough place settings for everyone (only 6 plates and 6 forks).
We found the property to be exactly what we were looking for. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to our fishing destinations. The host provided plenty of coffee and snacks, and the air conditioners in each bedroom were much appreciated given the weather. We had absolutely no issues or complaints and would happily stay again if we return to this part of the country.
The place was great. It was so quiet and clean. We got to hang out with our two older kids and relax for the weekend. Plenty of space to watch some shows with the beautiful fireplace. It was so warm and cozy. Will definitely rent this property again.
