Everything was great and as advertised. Good communication with hosts. A 4 for location only because it is a bit remote - but this can also be an attraction for some (it was for us). There is a hot tub, but did not experience it due to it being a rainy April day / night. Would recommend and would stay again!
Very nice, quiet, wooded setting! We used the hot tub in the morning and the firepit at night. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a 5-10 minute drive!

Nice but a bit below expectations
The road to get the property is not great and parking is tight. The house is nice clean and spacious. We did not expect the owners to be upstairs as it’s listed as the whole place. It really wasn’t a problem but not what we expected. The extra insurance paid for as a bit over the top and seems unnecessary. Overall ok but not great.
My girlfriend & I stayed here for an evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Enjoyed the seclusion and hot tub. Huge kudos to Tammy for letting us borrow her corkscrew (we forgot to bring one of our own)——as a result, we were able to enjoy the wine we brought!
Place was awesome big and just as described.. host was very helpful.. only problem was the road getting to the house but that was only because me and buddy rode motorcycles
Nice location, had a DD to get to the game and downtown. Sitting on the porch swing with a cup of coffee in the morning was very relaxing. If you're going to cook onsite, bring seasonings/accessories. Everyone enjoyed it and I highly recommend.
We stayed at this super cute rental, the hosts were tentative and friendly. The house was well equipped and our 3 year old enjoyed exploring the lay of the land. It was a peaceful and relaxing little getaway in close proximity to Penn State making it a breeze to move our daughter in and attend NSO. Would recommend!
Lied about privacy, have cameras watching the pool.
We were looking for a private honeymoon, this property is listed as having an upstairs unit and downstairs.
We requested to book on condition that the upstairs was vacant so we could have privacy. They agreed and told us noone else would be there.
We get there and there is a couple staying upstairs with windows overlooking the pool.
There is also a camera over the pool. ‘For Safety’
After driving 3 hours to get there, we spent our honeymoon elsewhere.
A nice place for a brief stay, had plenty of beds and extra bedding to sleep a crew. Detailed driving instructions were helpful. Kitchen had essentials including coffee, hot tub worked great. Owners were home upstairs and AC is a bit loud if you're sensitive to that kind of noise.
Nice private place to stay with family and furry friends :)
We’ve stayed here twice when our son was attending a sports camp at Penn State and had a positive experience both times. The setting is very private and serene which we enjoy. It is a 25-30 minute drive to the campus, but that was worth it for us to be able to bring our dog and have a nice place to stay.
This is a lovely property and there were only minor issues with cleanliness such as dead bugs and spider webs throughout the rental which leads me to believe it is not thoroughly cleaned regularly. My major concern was that the listing stated that the owners who live in the house above stay at one of their other properties when the downstairs apartment is booked. Not only were the owners onsite and present throughout our stay, they were using the amenities such as the pool and they also invited their family and friends so it was very much like being at a hotel property instead of a private rental. The owners were very friendly but I would not have booked this property had I known the amount of people I would be sharing this space with. Because this space is beneath the house, we heard the noise of the children running throughout the house as well as the conversations of the adults. The listing was very misleading.
We stayed over for a tournament at penn state and this was the perfect place! Super helpful hosts and the hot tub was super nice!! Plenty of space for 6 people and it was a very homey feel. Definitely would recommend!!
Overall, my son and I enjoyed our stay in this house. We brought our dog and he loved running outside. Lots of space to run around, squirrels to chase and cats to sniff. The kitchen had all the basic requirements. The bathroom was a little tight but fine for two people. The third bed in the office makes it a little tight if you want to use the office desk. I found the bed to be a little hot because there are waterproof mattress covers on everything. I totally understand why owners would want to use those, but it does make for hot sleeping. The owners were very responsive to any questions and reached out to me early due to weather concerns.

About the host

Husband and I like to travel a lot to Fl and we don't use the whole house. Thought it would be fun to rent it out to students, or people passing through.
Why they chose this property
This property when we bought it had a magic feeling about it. Its secluded you can watch the deer off the porch. Lots of Forrest sounds all around. Great hiking paths all throughout the woods. Very quiet and just a great place to be in the outdoors.
What makes this property unique
Take advantage of the hot tub on cool nights and the pool on hot days (seasonal). Relax by a campfire while watching the wildlife.
