Awesome stay - Tranquil Retreat at Tahoe Donner

The place truly was a 'tranquil retreat' and is exactly what my fiancee and I were looking for. If anything, the pictures didn't do it enough justice because we were very impressed with the place. Everything worked well, was clean, and very cozy. About the only 'complaint' would be that we hoped there would be shower toiletries as we did not bring any. Regardless, loved the house and would stay here again! Bonus points for having the coyotes play in the meadow everyday we were there!

Beware of Tahoe Getaways

Pictures generally reflected the property (important caveats - read on) - it was generally nice, good location, easy check in process. However, a few important things to be aware of: 1. Tahoe Getaways is dreadful as a property mgmt company. While they claim to professionally clean the house, it was in a disgusting condition when we arrived (hairs and stains on the bedding, crumbs on the floor). They asked for pictures to prove this (which we had) and then offered to reclean it after we already left. Read the Google reviews on them - this appears to be how they do business. They don't properly clean the room, offer to reclean, if that's not possible, you get a refund but only if you sign a docusign including non-disparagement. 2. the driveway is very steep (to be fair, they warn you about this) and it is not cleared prior to guest arrival (it is cleared in the mornings - this is conveniently not mentioned) so if you arrive when it's snowing, be prepared to spend 30-60 minutes clearing the driveway (as no street parking is allowed) 3. The place is a bit outdated that pictures don't show. For example - the toilet in the downstairs bathroom isn't properly secured and thus appears to leak. The grout in the downstairs bathroom sink is largely missing. The tile floor has sunk in multiple places (causing tripping risks) so be careful if you're walking around barefooted.

We appreciate your detailed feedback on your recent stay. While we're pleased you found the property nice with a good location and easy check-in, we're disheartened to hear about the issues you encountered. We apologize for the cleanliness concerns and will address them promptly with our cleaning team. Regarding the driveway and property condition, we'll take steps to improve communication and address any necessary repairs swiftly. Your feedback is invaluable, and we're committed to making improvements, however, we don't take kindly to threats of credit card disputes and demands for full refunds. We are the local property manager and work 7 days a week to help address issues whilst guests are in-house. We can agree that some items fell short during this guest's stay but were committed to come to an amicable solution. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
