Lovely and quiet stay

Jan and Bill's place was perfect for us as a long-term tenant. The studio was cozy and kept us warm during the winter, with peaceful views of the surrounding hills and farms to keep us occupied. The studio has everything you might need for cooking, and the bed was very comfortable as well. We highly recommend this location for both short-term and long-term stays. Jan and Bill's hospitality made us feel right at home from day one.

Rural Getaway

Very kind and accommodating hosts. Had all the kitchen and bathroom amenities we needed. Loved the rural setting with our bovine neighbors and lovely birdsong throughout the day. Had a wonderful stay and the town of Tokoroa has everything we needed for groceries, gas, etc.

Great rural spot close to town

Great spot to enjoy a rural setting but still be close to town. Everything you need in the container and the fenced area outside for the dog was great. The hosts were very friendly and the place was nice and private.

Great overnighter!

Thanks! Really nice spot, small and cosy but has everything you need. Definitely appreciated having our dog with us, and the flexibility there. Fun morning tour through the aviary too! Thank you!

Tokoroa hideaway

We were looking for somewhere to stay with our two dogs, a Pomeranian and a Border Collie. This was perfect for what we needed, place for the dogs to do their business and comfortable for us. We were able to travel to Karangahake Gorge to do the amazing walk there and the following day to do some walks around Rotorua.

Comfortable and quiet

We really enjoyed our stay here, the hosts were super friendly and made a special effort to sort out the TV which wasn't working. A very quiet environment, 5 kms off the main road, comfortable and clean. Seperate cabin away from main house, so privacy ensured.

Pineapple Bliss in Tokoroa

Wife and I had a quiet, relaxing, enjoyable stay. Jan and Bill let us have our space, yet were warm and friendly for the brief moments we did get to chat. Enjoyed the peaceful and scenic rural setting. The space was simple, yet comfortable. Well stocked with amenities. I would stay again next time I’m traveling that way. Mahalo

Absolutely peaceful, and the view was amazing. We love the country so the smell we were okay with

The Studio was so cute we really enjoyed our time out in the country relaxing from our busy days and nights we had over the 3 days we stayed. Jan and Bill are amazing hosts. Our 2 furr babies loved relaxing on the deck in the sun as well. Recommend this place if you just want to chill and of course don't mind the country smells.

The hosts were very approachable, kind people. The container a different experience, but comfortable and private. Unfortunately there is no stove top or oven, but a microwave and an electrical pan.

Superbly presented self contained one bedroom with ensuite. Unique design in renovated metal container. Great peaceful setting in rural location only 7 minutes from Tokoroa centre. Hosts accommodate any additional needs. If you want the serenity, weather and picturesque early morning or night sky take a moment to consider this gem.

Certainly a different experience to stay in a converted shipping container. There was everything I needed for an enjoyable 3 night stay. Jan and Bill were very obliging and I appreciated the eggs for breakfast plus the other items. The bed was really comfy, shower good once the water heats up. Lovely deck with a beautiful view of the countryside and farm animals. The wifi worked but intermittent at times which forced me to rest. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Hosts were very pleasant and respectful. The sutdio was very accommodating for our stay. Peaceful

I booked this place as it was perfectly between my two destinations that was too long to drive for. I stayed one night but wish I could have stayed longer! Super easy to find. The cabin had everything you need. Perfect spot to take dogs to. Loved all the little touches such as variety of hot drinks, biscuits, milk in the fridge, lovely toiletries, parrot theme. The bed was super comfy and the whole place was spotless. Loved waking up to birdsong and watching the cows and ducks stroll past while sitting outside with my morning coffee. My dog had an awesome time too. I didn’t want to leave ! Thanks Jan & Bill!
