One of the most frequent questions we're asked is "Why Firestone's?"
Our quaint house was first owned by Kenneth and Wynona Young. Both grew up in our little community of Rocky Hill and built the house in the 1970's after they were married. They raised their daughter, Reba, in the home and were always known to their neighbors to be loving and helpful.
While Aaron grew up in the neighborhood, we only made it our forever home around 8 years ago. As we passed everyday to go into town, or to work, you could always count on Mr. Kenneth sitting on the back porch giving you a wave. Mr. Young, before retirement, worked at a local factory that made Firestone tires and coincidentally developed the nickname "Firestone" for all who knew him.
"Wave at Firestone!", we'd always tell our boys.
And when we'd say "Let's go visit Firestone", our kids would always be excited because they knew Mrs. Wynona would always find them a piece of candy in the pantry.
When we purchased the house in 2021 in order to host people from all over the world. One thing we didn't have to think about for long was the name. For over 50 years our house has been called "Firestone's" and we couldn't be more honored that it will continue to be.
