Summary:
Nutmeg Cottage is a charming Key-West style cottage that sits at the edge of the dune with dramatic Gulf views. It is just steps to the beach. The large porches, both upstairs and downstairs, offer balmy tropical breezes and comfortable spots to watch dolphins and shorebirds on the beach. A comfortable hammock offers the perfect spot to relax in the fresh air in the fenced private yard. The island is only accessible by boat. Take a quick water taxi ride to the island or use the dock included in your rental.
The Space:
A large open kitchen/living and dining area has plenty of room for everyone in the family to gather. There are two bedrooms and a full bath downstairs. One bedroom features a queen bed and the other has two twins. (daybed and a trundle.) Upstairs, accessible by an outdoor staircase, the master has a king bed, a half bath with toilet and sink and doors opening to the private porch with its stunning views of the beach!
There is a large fenced in yard and the home is pet friendly, so the large yard is the perfect spot for your pet to enjoy the beach as well! There is a separate laundry room outdoors where the washer, dryer and beach equipment are stored.
Guests of Nutmeg Cottage do NOT have access to the back patio and outdoor shower. Renters will have sole access to the main home, porches, front yard, and side deck.
Nutmeg Cottage also features a guest cottage directly next door. This small cottage, named Bunkini is available to rent separately or in conjunction with Nutmeg....so if you have a larger group, or a couple who wants even more privacy, the separate cottage can also be rented. If you are interested in both cottages, ask about special pricing for both. (The two cottages do share the outside laundry facility. )
Nutmeg Cottage comes with access to a dock slip on Dock 42. Small boats will fit easily but there are restrictions on boats in excess of 24 ft.
The water taxi runs by appointment only and it is $15 per person (each way) during regular daytime hours.

Holiday surcharges: applied for reservations for Independence Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, and Christmas/New Years timeframes. PLEASE NOTE THAT MINIMUM NIGHTLY STAYS MAY BE INCREASED FOR THESE DATES AS WELL.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES ARE SHARED WITH BUNKINI NEXT DOOR. THERE IS A SEPARATE ENTRANCE FOR THE LAUNDRY/STORAGE AREA.
The Neighborhood:
The island is only accessible by boat. Enjoy uncrowded beaches and pristine wildlife on LGI!
Getting Around:
You must bring a boat (dock slip included) or use the Pirate's water taxi. The water taxi will run by appointment only and is $15 per person each way during regular daytime hours
Other Things to Note:
Please evaluate your expectations before booking a stay on Little Gasparilla Island. If you are expecting a polished "resort" atmosphere, Little Gasparilla is decidedly more rustic. During periods of heavy rain or tropical storms, there may be standing water on the roadways, at the dock and around the house. This is a tropical environment with mosquitos, rust, power outages and other minor inconveniences. If you are expecting resort amenities and services, the island might not be for you.
