About the host
Hosted by brad doern
We’re Brad and Heather, a couple from the Midwest who fell in love with the magic of Sedona. Drawn in by its red rock beauty, peaceful energy, and unforgettable adventures, we knew we had to make it part of our lives. Now, we’re excited to share that experience with others. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, inspiration, or a bit of both — welcome to our Retreat.
Why they chose this property
The setting: It’s a deep red-rock gorge carved by Oak Creek, shaded by sycamores and cottonwoods—a lush contrast to Sedona’s desert mesas. The canyon air stays cooler, the nights quieter, and the light shifts beautifully along the rock walls through the day.
• Exclusivity and quiet: Homes here are limited and tucked along winding roads. You won’t hear highway noise or tourist chatter, just creek water and birds. It’s the kind of seclusion that feels restorative rather than remote.
• Proximity to adventure: You’re only a short drive from Sedona’s restaurants, art galleries, and trailheads, yet close to swimming holes, fishing spots, and hiking paths right out the door. Oak Creek Canyon bridges luxury and wilderness better than anywhere in town.

What makes this property unique
First, location: it’s in Oak Creek Canyon, one of Sedona’s most exclusive and scenic areas. The home is literally surrounded by those iconic crimson cliffs and whispering pines, and you cross the Oak Creek River just to reach it—a cinematic entrance that sets a tone of quiet seclusion and natural drama.
Second, the design story: it’s a modern remodel, slated for completion in 2025. That means clean lines, fresh finishes, and contemporary comforts layered atop Sedona’s timeless desert beauty. The contrast between sleek architecture and rugged wilderness is a big part of its charm.
Third, the experience itself: the home isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a retreat. The new outdoor entertainment area (with hot tub, fireplaces, and BBQ) invites long evenings under red rock sunsets. It feels designed for connection and indulgence.
And finally, the view—which in Sedona is currency. Many homes have a “peek” at the rocks; few are cradled by them. This one seems built to frame the landscape like art.
It’s the rare combination of privacy, design, and panoramic beauty that makes it feel like luxury rooted in nature, rather than imposed upon it.
