We absolutely loved our stay at the Doe House! Our family along with some soon to be in laws stayed at the house and it was the prefect setting for a beautiful wedding weekend. The bridal party even got ready at the house and couldn't stop talking about how impressive the house was. We loved the history of the how well taken care of it is. Becky was a fantastic host and her attention to detail and small touches did not go unnoticed.
Was a great location for our weekend with family and friends from different states. Host added touch of local bakery items. Thanks!. I did take one star off of accuracy of rating since it lists a hot tub in amenities.
Absolutely beautiful property that perfectly complemented our wedding weekend. Me and the girls got ready here the morning of and it made for such beautiful pictures! Becky was also so sweet and easy to communicate with!
The house is absolutely beautiful! We were in town for a volleyball tournament and stayed at the Doe House. It is a very cute, historic mansion with tons of space! Becky was wonderful and very responsive to everything inquiry. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful house and grounds.
We were coming from out of town for our son's wedding - and knew that our family and friends would also be coming from out of town as well. The goal was to find a place that would serve as a gathering place when we weren't involved in the the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception - a place people could come to socialize and relax. This house not only provided that kind of place but did so with a beautiful elegance befitting a wedding weekend. It was fantastic - surpassing our expectations!
All of us were so amazed at this incredible property. Everything was so clean and organised and the lovely Ladies that take such good care of "everything" and are so close by were also amazing. Thank you sooo much Becky !!
The Doe House makes coming to Oshkosh feel like home!
The love and care put into the restoration of this property is the same love and care the owner shows you when making sure you feel at home staying at The Doe House. The kitchen and location makes you ask, should I be dining in or eating out. We always choose to do a little of both. Centrally located in downtown Oshkosh allowing you to access amazing places to eat, doing some quick shopping or grab a cup of coffee (all on foot). Do not hesitate when booking your next stay!
We had an amazing time using the Doe House as both a place to sleep for myself and my bridesmaids, but also as a getting ready and photo location for the wedding day. Everything was beyond expectation--the rooms are gorgeously designed and furnished, the beds and bathrooms are comfortable and immaculately clean, and the kitchen/dining spaces were perfect for hosting our large parties. Our favorite room was the sun porch, where my photographer did my bridal portraits. Becky even had a welcome basket for us, which we were not expecting but was delicious and introduced us to some local businesses! Everything was perfect. I highly recommend, especially for wedding parties or other photography needs!
Let me start by saying…I travel frequently and this is not the typical type home I look for. To be honest, this trip was last minute and I only had a couple of choices! The hostess reached out to me so I went ahead with this one. WOW!! I AM SO THANKFUL WE DID! We had THE BEST experience and LOVED THIS HOUSE! We had plenty of space and everything was so clean and comfortable!! The house hostess was extremely accommodating and we were welcomed with open arms! We slept so well and we had all the amenities we could ask for! We were pulling a trailer and had space to park and easy access to EAA. The property is walking distance to shops and the adorable Wagner market! We have definitely found our Oshkosh home And look forward to many future adventures!
The Doe House exceeded all expectations. Absolutely gorgeous and the perfect venue to host all of my bridesmaids the night before our wedding and getting ready the next day. Becky was so sweet and accommodating and had great communication even before we arrived and checked in. The cute little welcome gifts were such a special touch (like the cookies and the champagne/OJ for mimosas), THANK YOU! The rooms and bathrooms were even prettier in person, we all slept great and my bridesmaids are still talking about how amazing the space was and our time there. I just wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for making our wedding weekend so special. I will always remember those moments of getting ready with my girls and my mom zipping up my dress in front of the windows in the parlor. Thank you again!
We stayed here for a wedding in town with family the house was beautiful and had everything you would need. The rooms were spacious and beautiful. We would highly recommend. Hope we can stay here again sometime.
What a lovely home and treasured family estate! We're a group of ten friends who wanted to have a fun overnight to celebrate our friendship over the last couple of years. This was the perfect location for us! The house was so charming with all its history, but also luxurious with all the updates! The HUGE ceilings, the magazine-perfect kitchen, the gorgeous sunroom, and the beautiful bathrooms! The beds were so comfortable, and so many bathrooms (heated floors, yes, please!) to choose from. We enjoyed walking to town for the Farmer's Market and then to dinner. The host was AMAZING!!! She answered our questions timely and provided wonderful information about the house and town. She graciously gave us an early check-in and a late check-out. After every communication with her, I'd tell my friends, "I love this lady!" There was also a delicious welcome basket waiting for us. We even forgot something, and she kindly mailed it to us. I would recommend the Doe House to anyone. What a delightful stay and host! We hope to be back.
The Doe house is the epitome of a Wiscansin Mansion to quote the great t-pain. Getting ready here with my bridal party and friends and family made our wedding day seamless. Our videographer, videographer, and make-up artist would not stop thanking us for booking an amazing space for photos and natural light. The house is massive enough to make many people comfortable and is very walkable to the downtown activities and the wedding venues in the area. Completely worth the money and the memories you will make here!
I stayed here with close friends the night before my wedding and it was gorgeous! We had so much fun and it was very memorable. They also were kind enough to extend our check out time by an hour. They were super hospitable and if I get the opportunity I would stay again!
My daughter got married this weekend and our family and her new husbands family stayed at the house. It was simple PERFECT!!!! We had so much fun hosting out of town guests before the wedding. The day of the wedding the girls all got ready at the house and picture were done there and it was absolutely stunning. We were relaxed and comfortable and had so much space. A Gem in Oshkosh for sure!!!!!
My husband and I had an intimate wedding ceremony and reception at the Doe House and it was everything we ever hoped for. The interior is absolutely breathtaking and made for incredible photo opportunities. Becky and the property manager and housekeeper did a fantastic job. Everything was clean and they really went above and beyond letting us tour the location prior to booking. Will definitely stay again one day 💜
The house was great. TONS of charm, very clean, and well organized. We were in and out quickly, but it would have been a nice place to spend some time. I recommend!!!
The Doe house went above and beyond our expectations. The house is updated but still has its historic charm. My husband and I had a small wedding ceremony in the living room and dinner with family. The updated kitchen was perfect for our chief from Prepd. I loved the steam showers as I got ready on my wedding day.
Beyond the amazing house, the owner and workers were even more amazing to work with. Super accommodating, quick to respond, and so very helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the wedding of our dreams. From our amazing welcome basket to making up an extra handicapped accessible bed for my grandpa, the team at the Doe House did an awesome job. No amount of thanks will truly represent how appreciative my husband and I are. Our whole family loved it. Will definitely be back.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca Brown
Rebecca and her husband Paul Williams bought the Doe House when it was on the auction block in order to save it. They worked with Laib Restoration of Oshkosh to replace pipes and get the house in livable condition again. Renting to people for parties and occasions is what the house is all about! It is quite an experience to stay in a 150+ year old Victorian Masion!
William Doe built the house in 1869 with renowned architect William Waters. Rebecca Doe Brown is the 3x great grand daughter and namesake of William Doe's 3rd child Rebecca Doe Jackson.
Why they chose this property
This property is historic and unique. With the 11 foot ceilings, old windows and creaky 150 year old floors, it is an experience to stay in a Victorian Mansion. Rebecca Brown's 2x great grandmother was married in the house in Jan 1877 and they loved to have parties and open houses on New Year's Day and July 4th.
