Schueler Wedding Weekend 11.11.23
The Doe House exceeded all expectations. Absolutely gorgeous and the perfect venue to host all of my bridesmaids the night before our wedding and getting ready the next day. Becky was so sweet and accommodating and had great communication even before we arrived and checked in. The cute little welcome gifts were such a special touch (like the cookies and the champagne/OJ for mimosas), THANK YOU! The rooms and bathrooms were even prettier in person, we all slept great and my bridesmaids are still talking about how amazing the space was and our time there. I just wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for making our wedding weekend so special. I will always remember those moments of getting ready with my girls and my mom zipping up my dress in front of the windows in the parlor. Thank you again!

Girlfriend Getaway
What a lovely home and treasured family estate! We're a group of ten friends who wanted to have a fun overnight to celebrate our friendship over the last couple of years. This was the perfect location for us! The house was so charming with all its history, but also luxurious with all the updates! The HUGE ceilings, the magazine-perfect kitchen, the gorgeous sunroom, and the beautiful bathrooms! The beds were so comfortable, and so many bathrooms (heated floors, yes, please!) to choose from. We enjoyed walking to town for the Farmer's Market and then to dinner. The host was AMAZING!!! She answered our questions timely and provided wonderful information about the house and town. She graciously gave us an early check-in and a late check-out. After every communication with her, I'd tell my friends, "I love this lady!" There was also a delicious welcome basket waiting for us. We even forgot something, and she kindly mailed it to us. I would recommend the Doe House to anyone. What a delightful stay and host! We hope to be back.

About the host

Rebecca and her husband Paul Williams bought the Doe House when it was on the auction block in order to save it. They worked with Laib Restoration of Oshkosh to replace pipes and get the house in livable condition again. Renting to people for parties and occasions is what the house is all about! It is quite an experience to stay in a 150+ year old Victorian Masion! William Doe built the house in 1869 with renowned architect William Waters. Rebecca Doe Brown is the 3x great grand daughter and namesake of William Doe's 3rd child Rebecca Doe Jackson.

Why they chose this property

This property is historic and unique. With the 11 foot ceilings, old windows and creaky 150 year old floors, it is an experience to stay in a Victorian Mansion. Rebecca Brown's 2x great grandmother was married in the house in Jan 1877 and they loved to have parties and open houses on New Year's Day and July 4th.

What makes this property unique

Walking distance from Historic Downtown Oshkosh Main Street restaurants, the Grand Opera House and Leach Amphitheater.
Two blocks from the historic Eagles Lodge - The Howard, The Gibson Social Club, Oshkosh Public Library and Downtown YMCA.
Nearby is Menominee Park on the lake, the historic Oshkosh Yacht Club - The Waters, the Paine Art Center and UW - Oshkosh
Four miles from the Experimental Aircraft Association Museum

Ballroom-sized living room with eleven foot ceilings for executive meetings and concerts up to 50 people. Bridesmaids can enjoy time together prior to the big event. Bridal portraits in a romantic & historic setting.
