A bit of history!
The Porte de Bourgogne is located at the end of the former SaliniÚres moat, now the Cours Victor-Hugo (formerly Rue des Fossés), on the site of the former medieval Porte des SaliniÚres. It marks the city's official entrance on the ancient road leading to Paris. Tourny wanted it to accompany the Place Royale (now Place de la Bourse), and consecrated it to Prince Monseigneur le Duc de Bourgogne on January 24, 1757.
For a time, it was the Porte Napoléon to celebrate the Emperor's arrival in Bordeaux in 1808.

Le Victor Hugo The location is great, we barely had to take any transportation and there’s great restaurants around. There are many places to visit in walkable distance, and basic amenities are provided. The apartment matches the pictures and features everything needed for a short stay. However, the walls are very thin, it almost feels like our neighbours are in the same apartment. We felt a little exposed. Also, there’s somewhat of a weird smell in the corridor and it was dusty in the apartment.
