About this property
Whitetail View, Secluded, Hot Tub-Spectacular View.
*The Whitetail View is an entire upstairs apartment in our home with a private outside entrance and balcony.
* One of two private access areas available at the same home
*Upstairs with mountain and forest views
*6-7 person hot tub with spectacular mountain view from the overlook deck
*1/2 mile from the lake. 1/2 mile from trail head
*Queen log bed and comfortable queen cabinet bed
*Kitchenette and dining area
* Wifi, Firestick with Prime Video
*Driveway and large parking, area snow plowed
*Picnic table, propane grill, firepit.
Our home is on 7.5 wooded acres on top of a scenic ridge. The Whitetail View is newly remodeled. And, yes, you will see whitetail deer. The space is a well furnished upstairs apartment with a private entrance via an outside staircase. The long private balcony has two doors, grill, chairs and stands for having a drink or sharing a meal while enjoying a view of the mountains and forest. There is a kitchenette with basic cooking utensils, dishes, etc., microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator and dining table. The living area has a TV, love seat and recliner. There is one full bedroom with a log queen bed. A convenient queen cabinet bed with memory foam mattress stays out of the way until needed. It is a very comfortable bed! The full bathroom has a tub and shower, with a door to the bedroom and living area.
At the same property is a larger area about twice the size that sleeps seven. It is called the Seeley Lake Vacation: Bears Den.
Seeley Lake, Montana is a beautiful resort mountain town, surrounded by pristine mountains, a fish-filled string of lakes, river and mountain streams. Reserve either of the two private access spaces in our home as your convenient base. It is 1/2 mile from the groomed snowmobile, ATV and hiking/biking trailhead.
There are regular visits from friendly photogenic whitetail deer. They are cautious of people, but sometimes fight and chase each other. Be careful about spacing, especially with children, to avoid accidental contact. An occasional bear sighting can occur in any area of Seeley Lake, but they keep their distance from people.
Relax at the home and enjoy the occasional wildlife right on the property. After a day of adventure enjoy an evening of solitude, a meal and quiet serenity. There is a picnic table near the grill and a sitting area with benches, firepit and rocking glider next to the hot tub. Sit in the hot tub on a private deck overlooking the Swan Mountains, or just enjoy your private area. The propane grill next to the carport is dedicated specifically for our guests.
If you are an archer, there will be a safe place to practice with your bow on a 4' X 4' X1' target. (No hunting on the property.)
Explore private access to Morrell Creek below the house. This is a rarely used common area dedicated to our small homeowners association. Be aware that it has bull trout in it, that are not legal to keep.
You'll have close access to everything you come to Seeley Lake for! It is your Seeley Lake Vacation Home while you fish, boat, hunt, snowmobile, pick huckleberries (July), hike, water ski, jet ski, cross-country ski, or just enjoy the amazing scenery. Four seasons of mountain and lake adventures!
There are two private vacation spaces in this home. We live in one separated section.
1. Bears Den (Large daylight basement with private access and covered parking space.)
2. Whitetail View (Upstairs with private access and covered parking space.)
Rent one or both at:

There is plenty of paved parking, including room for ATV/snowmobile trailers. Space off property for large trailer parking can be arranged, if needed. In the winter, snowmobiles may be used around town. The entire side yard and backyard are for guests to use. Hot tub use is for one rental unit at a time. The hot tub lid up on the lift indicates someone is using it.
We are available as you want us to be. If we're not at home, text or call us! If we are at home, feel free to do the same or engage us in conversation. We are people persons, but you're privacy is a priority to us. If you have questions, or just want to talk, feel free!
On the ridge above Tamarack Drive you will not see any houses. You can walk or drive to Morrell Creek below the ridge the house is on.
In winter use your snowmobiles or drive slowly to enjoy the scenery and avoid the deer who think they control the town. (They do.) Use a canoe or kayak to take Clearwater River Canoe Trail, a 1 to 2 hour canoe/kayak trip that flows through a dense willow marsh on an isolated portion of the Clearwater River. We will have kayaks available for any area water activity trip you want.
For the cabinet bed, pull out the bottom drawer which supports the bed. Take out the pillows and blanket. Then pull the bed out over that drawer and lock down the legs. There are instructions on the cabinet. It's a comfortable sleep!

About the host
Hosted by David and Brenda Rowell

We have lived in Montana for several decades. We were drawn to Seeley Lake by the years of visiting here for the myriad outdoor sports available. We enjoy helping people experience life fully, so we decided to buy a property here in 2020 as a vacation rental. We owned a smaller vacation rental in Seeley. We sold that one and bought this larger one to accommodate more guests, as well as a home for ourselves. Our goal is to make your stay as special as possible for you with your open private entrance. The home is set up to provide privacy for you and your group, but we are available to help, if needed. When you leave, we hope you will take with you the joy that resides on this property!
Why they chose this property
The beautiful Seeley Vacation Home is secluded on a ridge, but very close to the resort town of Seeley, which is the gateway to unlimited scenic outdoor activities in mountains, lakes, creeks and rivers, trails and more.
What makes this property unique
There is an awesome view of the forest and majestic mountains right from the home. The best view can be taken in year-round from the deck the hot tub is on. This Seeley Vacation Home is very close to all the reasons people come to this area of Montana for! Even the deer in the yard will make you feel very welcome and special!
Guests often comment how nice the towns people of Seeley Lake are. The service in the several restaurants and stores makes you feel like a valued guest of the area. From the incredible food at Lindey's Prime Steakhouse, to the family-oriented Chicken Coop, or breakfast and lunch at Pops, and several other food venues you will be treated as special guests. Or, pick up everything you need for a home-cooked meal at Corey's Valley Market using the Whitetail View kitchenette and grill on the balcony. You can feel free to use the picnic table during the warmer seasons.
Rovero's Ace Hardware store is open late and has much more than just hardware. You will find seasonal sporting goods, RV accessories, fuel, and even hot foods. Heritage Sporting Goods also has rental gear. Kurt's Polaris is a well managed dealership with more rentals, available. There are plenty of business owners, including us, who can give you ideas for your adventures.
During the summer, walk up and get in line for the very popular Ice Cream Place. There are several other quaint food venues and tourist shops for you to discover in Seeley Lake. Most of the shops can be walked to from one parking spot and all are only two or three minutes drive from the beautiful ridge that holds the secluded Whitetail View!
