Our stay was perfect! This place is very private and everything was what we needed! We noticed that all the beds were different “comfort” levels, which was perfect for our large group to be able to be to get the best nights sleep! We didn’t spend a ton of time at the house other than early mornings for breakfast, late nights, ir sleeping, but I would highly recommend this place to any large groups!
Had a great time, as always. House is situated close to everything, stocked well and very enjoyable.
To those golfers among our group, the green out the front window while remaining unplayable is a distraction. Watching the deer play in the sand trap, however, was a highlight of the trip.
Our host did a great job. We'll be back next year for our 20th Annual Trip.
Although house is not on the water, the available deck is on a great side of North Lake Leelanau. We love this lake, perfect for water sports. When not on the water, we enjoyed the front deck/porch of the house and watched the golfers. Home is perfect location to walk to Fishtown.
We were an extended family group. The house had everything we needed. While it is not brand new as you can see in the pictures, it is well stocked and decorated in a charming fashion. With a central kitchen, dining and living area and bedrooms to either side, it was perfect for extended family. There was plenty of seating for the nine people in our group. When I contacted the owner with a quick question before check-in, she was quick to respond. There were cornhole boards provided, and a fire circle, which we didn’t have a chance to use. The path to the dock was a little longer than expected through the woods, but certainly doable. We brought a paddleboard and stored it on the deck near the dock. The front porch was a great place for morning, coffee and watching the golfers. The walk to town was a little longer than we are used to so we were glad that we brought our bikes as well. Would definitely stay again.
We are 6 work friends (now all retired) who have had a get away week for 23 years.
This cottage accommodated us well.
Clean, plenty of beds with everything we needed to prepare meals, reminisce and relax.
We will be back next year!
This home is great for large groups of people, and the bedroom setups are great. It's well stocked with cooking needs, linens, and towels. The oven can leave a burning odor, but with the big front doors it's easy to air out. The lake views aren't really lake views, as there is a 200 ft walk down to the beach front part of the property. We were super early into the season, so the boat dock wasn't in yet and definitely would have sat on the dock in the morning it was so warm and sunny. The path could use a sign as we almost went down the neighbors driveway. The host was quick to inform us of an unexpected house issue and compensated us accordingly, and we made the best of the situation. Overall a lovely stay.
I stayed here with a bunch of friends for a girls' weekend, and it was perfect! It was super close to downtown Leland, and close to many of the wineries. We appreciated that it had the twin beds so that not all of us needed to share a bed. It would probably be amazing in the summer too, but it was beautiful in fall, and we loved and hope to come back!
We stayed here for our annual cousins weekend, which included 9 of us this year. The house was perfect for our group. We loved the open concept. The only complaints were that there were multiple spider webs in corners of the house but the vacuum was accessible so we were able clean them ourselves. The house does sit near woods so this is expected but the house could use a thorough clean, especially before it is getting rented. We also weren’t sure if we could continue back behind the house so we weren’t able to see the private dock. Instructions on accessing the private beach would be helpful.
While we adored the convenient location and the access to the dock, we would not stay in this house again nor would I recommend it for what they charge. The oven was so dirty that the smoke alarm went off any time we cooked. The kitchen was super cluttered and not very clean, it felt like we were staying in someone’s house rather than a short term rental. The outside was disorganized and not set up for groups. They had a game of corn hole with no bags for example. They have a nice dock without a kayak or anything to use in the water. The host was not extremely helpful or responsive. I’m from the area and I do NOT think this place is worth the price.
We had a wonderful time staying in this house. The front looks out onto a gorgeous golf course. Very fun watching the golfers play! The space is open with plenty of room and seating. Overall, we loved it!
We enjoyed our stay despite having bad luck with the weather. The house is clean, comfortable and well-equipped for a relaxing vacation. The beds may be the most comfortable yet in a rental home. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and all hanging out in the big living area as well as the fire pit and dock. The trip to town was a very easy bike ride or walk, but beware, almost everything closes at 5-6 pm except for the weekend.
Perfectly situated near Leland. Accessible to lake, local eateries, and multiple golf courses. Open living area lent itself to relaxing, cards and hockey playoff viewing. This location was ideal
The house, grounds, and general location were perfect for us.
Loved the Adirondack chairs on the wonderful front porch.
Also, the night time stars were amazing…great visibility from the front lawn. The walkable distance public beach was lovely.
This was a great house for us! My husband, adult son, 17 year old and 2 friends couldn’t have had a better week! The house was great and location ideal! Easy access to the lake and very quiet street overlooking the golf course. We enjoyed drinking our coffee and watching the golfers in the mornings and reading a book out on the patio and hearing the live music from the Leland Lodge faintly playing in the distance in the evenings. The boys rode bikes to get ice cream daily! Looking forward to being back next year!
