Our cabin is hidden away in an old ravine of Cooper Mountain in Beaverton, Oregon. It offers stunning views of older-growth forest and a 5-minute drive to Cooper Mountain Nature Preserve hiking trails & playground. Nearby, you'll find great coffee shops, grocery stores, and dining options—we’ve included some of our favorites in the guidebook.

Beaverton is a vibrant and safe city with excellent restaurants, shopping, nearby farms, and so close to the amazing local wine country in the rich Willamette Valley. The cabin is a perfect home base for PNW adventures, whether you're heading to the Coast for an Ocean adventure or or up to Mt. Hood for ski season or hiking! This is an unforgettable stay.

Enjoy the solitude of the Cabin! Check in is easy and keyless.
You're welcome to explore the forest around the cabin at your leisure; it's all part of the property. We have worked hard to push back some of nature’s more sinister plants that are close to the cabin, but be mindful of possible poison ivy, blackberry vines or thistle.

We love relaxing on the expansive driveway in the lounge chairs, watching the trees sway and hawks soar overhead. The bats come out at dusk and you can almost set your watch to them.
However, if you need parking, there's ample space in front of the garage and along the driveway as well.

At Cooper Mountain Cabin, we offer a unique escape where the beauty of nature and the comforts of home come together. Nestled on 15 private acres of lush forest, our cabin invites you to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories. Whether you’re exploring Portland’s vibrant scene or unwinding in the moody embrace of rain and hiding out in the forest, every detail of your stay is thoughtfully designed to ensure your needs are met.

Cooper Mountain Cabin is a newly renovated 1976 cabin with high ceilings, a modern rustic vibe, fast WiFi, an updated beautiful kitchen with granite countertops, tile backsplash and new stainless steel appliances. Relax in the open living room with 65" Roku TV w/Netflix and other streaming services and enjoy meals together on the large dining table and bar space. Serve breakfast on the large balcony off the dining room and listen to the squirrels and birds greet the morning. Or take your coffee down to the settee and hide away on the private deck off of the primary bedroom.
Need to get some work done? We usually set up shop right on the dining table, but there are desks in 3 of the bedrooms should you need a dedicated workspace.
Our cabin is ideal for a family getaway, friends weekend, and is amazing for remote working or retreats.

You'll need a vehicle to find our place and explore the surrounding areas. Since we are tucked into a private forest it's a little tricky to find, but we'll send very detailed instructions when you book with us. Don't be nervous about the gravel road entrance it looks more daunting than it actually is.

*Arriving early or leaving late? Ask about our half-day add on fee (10AM check in or 4pm check out) - $150
*Looking for dates beyond 9 months? Send me a message and we can open them for your booking!
*Early Check-in Fee $50 (After 12pm)
*Forgotten item? Shipping fees will be guest's responsibility & charged through the platform.
*Luggage Drop off fee $15 if it is possible to accommodate.

Bugs? Sometimes.
Please note that this cabin is nestled in a forested area, so you may encounter insects, bees, and other critters, particularly around the fruit trees. We have regular pest control treatments every two months, but this doesn’t guarantee that you won’t spot any pests during your stay—especially ants, which can be persistent.
Wildlife? Definitely.
Additionally, we often see local wildlife like squirrels, birds, deer, raccoons, owls, garter snakes, and occasionally coyotes. While we’ve never had any concerning encounters, please keep in mind that these animals share the space and may cross your path while you're here.

Hidden Gem

Loved what Echo has done with the house. Older houses have so much personality and Echo has really made something out of that. Highly recommended, specially when you're with your friends and family

Family get away!!

When the property description indicates you are tucked away in the forest, make no mistake that’s the case. Drive thru a lovely community, find the “private driveway” sign, follow the road into a proverbial rain forest, including deer about. Round the bend and you are home at your personal treehouse. The “cabin” is nicely appointed, clean and private. Our family of nine loved the space. Kitchen, basement spaces recently updated. Master, second bedrooms updates in the future? Echo was an amazing host, the cabin private, quiet and worlds away (though not really 😌). Magical stay for a family looking to get away, though not too far. Echo, thank you.. Kathy and family

Hidden and Quiet in the middle of it all

This is a hidden gem in the middle of Beaverton, quiet and private. The cabin is very spacious, comfortable and clean. Extremely impressed with privacy in such a large residential area. I highly recommend this cabin and the hosts. The host were second to none. Don't pass this place up. Will definitely rebook

About the host

Host profile image
The first time we drove into this forest, we felt ourselves exhale—a deep, calming breath we didn’t know we needed. That peace is something we love sharing with our guests. In 2021, we found our dream cabin and began preserving this beautiful slice of native Oregon forest. Surrounded by towering Douglas firs, ferns, and wildlife, this retreat offers serenity and inspiration. We can’t wait to welcome you to the magic of the PNW!

Why they chose this property

We love nature so being surrounded by such unique older growth forest really resonates with us. We are hikers, love to ski and snowboard up on Mt. Hood, love making day trips out to the ocean but also enjoy the convenience of living close to shopping, downtown events and the unique atmosphere of Portland and the PNW.

What makes this property unique

We nicknamed this the “Ewok House” for its treehouse-like design, with living spaces upstairs, bedrooms below, and balconies nestled among the trees. It’s completely private—we didn’t even need curtains when we first stayed here! A family of deer calls this forest home, with mama deer and their fawns returning each season to snack on fallen fruit from the plum, apple, and pear trees. They seem to enjoy watching us as much as we enjoy watching them.
