About this property

Añoranza Casita 1 + Plunge Pool

🌴 Casita 1 at Añoranza — Your Private Oceanfront Escape

Finished in May 2021, Casita 1 is where laid-back Caribbean living meets just the right amount of comfort. Designed for privacy, relaxation, and unforgettable views, this oceanfront retreat is perfect for couples—or can be paired with our Villa and/or Casita 2 and 3 if your group needs more space.

If you’re looking for a true island experience, you’re in the right place. If you’re looking for beach clubs and nightlife like Cabo San Lucas or Tulum… this isn’t that. Here, it’s flip flops, swimsuits, and slowing all the way down.

🌊 The Casita

Casita 1 sits just steps from the Villa and offers an open, airy layout with everything you need to settle into island time:

King bed + living area + full kitchen

Gas range, dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker, blender, and all essentials

Clean, filtered water throughout (UV system + reverse osmosis at the sink)

The living room features a custom couch (perfect for lounging or an extra nap spot), Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+, plus a Sonos speaker for your island playlist (Spotify works best here).

🚿 Little Luxuries

Two-person shower with a view (yes, it’s as good as it sounds)

Double vanity bathroom

Washer & dryer (just bring detergent or grab some at the grocery store on the way in)

☀️ Outdoor Living (Your Favorite Spot)

Slide open the doors and step onto your oversized patio with seating, a table, and a hammock that practically guarantees an afternoon nap.

And then there’s the highlight:

👉 Your private plunge pool—perfect for morning coffee, mid-day dips, or sunset cocktails.

🚤 Ocean Access & Adventure

A scenic stairway winds down through the trees (with a few perfect “pause and take it in” spots) to the water:

Crystal-clear Caribbean access + private dock

Great snorkeling right off the dock

Complimentary kayaks to explore the reef, mangroves, or paddle to Punta Gorda

Paddle boards available for rent

🌴 The Añoranza Vibe

This is the quiet, authentic east side of Roatán—no crowds, no nightlife, no walkable restaurants.

👉 Kayak or drive 5 minutes to Punta Gorda or Oakridge for local food

👉 Stay in and cook—or have Dalia, your private chef, handle everything

Dress code? Swimsuits, cover-ups, and flip flops. That’s it.

🤝 Concierge & Services

Matt and Dalia are here to make your stay effortless:

Excursions, dining, car rentals, babysitting

Private chef services (one meal or your entire stay)

Airport pickup available

Dalia lives on property, so help is always nearby—while your privacy is always respected.

⚠️ Good to Know

There are quite a few steps on the property—worth it for the views, but important for guests with mobility concerns.

Unplug. Slow down. Stay a little longer than you planned.

The Reef Awaits. 🌊☀️🍹

About the host

Hosted by Shelby and Sean

Host profile image
The owners, Shelby and Sean, are glad you found Añoranza and look forward to sharing the Añoranza Experience with you.

Añoranza also means to the owners, stop longing for your dreams and make them happen. Shelby and Sean enjoy beach destinations and traveling the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico. Many times, while they were on vacation, they found themselves saying, "I wish we could share this spot with friends and family." The desire to share an amazing place with family and friends is what started their journey through Central America to find the perfect location to build their dream home.

In 2015, they traveled to Roatán after Shelby suggested checking it out because she loved it when she visited on a cruise, 10 years before.

As soon as they stepped onto the lot in Punta Blanca, and saw the view that would eventually turn into Añoranza's, they knew this was where their dream would come true.

They purchased the lot at the end of 2015 and after working with a local architect for over a year on the design of Añoranza, their dream came to life July 2017 when they started construction on the 3-bedroom Villa. It took about 1.5 years to finish the construction but in Feb 2019, the Villa was finished and the doors were opened to guests, May 1st, 2019.

In 2020, the island was closed to tourist because of COVID-19, from March until August, so they started construction on the Casita, April 2020. The Casita was finished April 2021 and the doors were open to guests May 1st, 2021, exactly 2 years from when the doors were opened to the Villa.

Stop longing for a vacation and start living! The reef awaits! Come stay with us!!

CHEERS! SALUD!

Why they chose this property

People always ask us, "Why Roatan?". We looked at Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama and Roatán before we decided where our dream would be born. When you see the view, you will know why we chose the quiet community of Punta Blanca.

WHY ROATÁN:
* It's a little over 2 hour direct flight from Houston.

* It has the #1 ranked beach in Central America, West Bay Beach but our favorite beach is a less known beach, Camp Bay Beach. Shhhh let’s keep it our secret.

* It has the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, the Mesoamerican barrier reef, right off the shoreline of Añoranza.

* The reef supports amazing marine life that attracts scuba divers, free-divers, and snorkelers from all over the world to come explore.

* It also provides calm, protected waters for kayaking, paddleboarding, kiteboarding, fly fishing and other water sports.

* A quick boat ride from Añoranza, just on the other side of the reef, you are in deep waters perfect for deep sea fishing.

* It has an amazing Pete Dye designed 18 hole golf course.

* It is part of the "Bay Islands" which means we can explore other islands, a boat or ferry ride away such as Utila, Guanaco, and Cayos Cochinos. There are also small uninhabited islands like Pigeon Cay to explore and have a picnic on.

* It offers zip lining and ATV tours through the jungle

* CEMESA hospital in French Harbor takes U.S. Insurance

* It was a British Commonwealth so most of the locals speak english.

* It has amazing history, culture, people and food
