Welcome to the Bear’s Lair, a cozy, rustic cabin in the Sierras near Yosemite. The cabin is located in the heart of Bass Lake, within walking distance to the charming small town and the lake. We have a large deck to enjoy warm summer evenings, BBQs, or just relaxing amid the surrounding pine trees. There is space to park cars and a boat trailer, but keep in mind the roads in Willow Cove are narrow and winding. We have a nearby dock slip to park a boat or jet ski.
The space The cabin has a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable family room with a large stone fireplace. There are three bedrooms. The Bunk Room has a double bed, trundle bed, and its own private entrance leading to the deck. The second bedroom (we call it the Apple Room) has a twin over full bunk bed and a double bed. The third bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed. We recently renovated the two bathrooms and kitchen, blending modern updates with the original, rustic elements, in order to preserve the authentic old-time cabin experience.
Guest access Guests have access to the entire property, including the large deck and space to park cars and a boat trailer. We have keyless entry to make your arrival easy and seamless.
Other things to note We hope you enjoy the cabin, where the rules are short and sweet. No schedules. No deadlines. No dress code. We keep it simple. Take time to rest, relax and renew. Breathe deep. Make s’mores and spend time enjoying the great outdoors. It’s the perfect time to hike and explore.

Cute little place in a great location. Plenty of room for us and our two children to spread out and everyone could have their own space. Walking distance to a beautiful dock where we could swim and a short drive to Bass Lake boat rentals! Would definitely stay here again.
This property has everything you could need for those visiting Bass Lake, the owners are super easy to communicate with and responsive. We have rented many properties at Bass Lake and this is one of the best.

We had a great time at the Bear's Lair Cabin! It's was centrally located making day trips to Yosemite and the Mariposa area easy. It had everything we needed and more. The bathrooms were updated, the bedrooms clean and comfortable, and the living area was a cozy cabin environment. We appreciated the little things like laundry detergent, several games, beach towels, and a basket of snacks. We would definitely stay again!
The property was perfect. It had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. The owners are extremely accommodating and always got back to me quickly. The next time I go I will bring small beach/dock chairs and a small EZ up for down by the lake which is a very short walk from the cabin. We had lake rafts that we brought and that was fun too. You won’t be disappointed!

Thank you for staying with us. We look forward to your “second” stay. It is a good suggestion to get some backpack chairs for the house. We will have them before you come back.
If as soon as you know your dates for next year please let us know and we will open the dates for you as the summer is always very busy.
Property filled all our needs and provided more than adequate amenities, for example shampoo, conditioner and variety of seasonings. Our recommendation for the future is more lighting on the patio, especially string lighting for a festive vibe, a gas barbecue, and night lights in bedrooms and bathrooms because the rooms are so dark.

William...thank you for staying with us at the Bear's Lair. We really appreciate all the feedback and promise that all of these suggestions will be implemented as they are great ideas. Hope to see you back soon.
My husband and I stayed for a week with another couple. We had so much fun. The house was perfect and exactly as described. We kept our boat at the dock provided and it was a short walk to the lake each day. The House is located right in the center of everything, with the Pines Resort just a few minutes away. The beds were extremely comfortable, the house was well stocked with everything you could possibly need and our favorite part was sitting out on the deck each evening and morning.

Stephanie,
Thank you for staying with us and taking such great care of the house. Hopefully we will see you back at the Bear's Lair soon.
Bear’s Lair at Bass Lake was the ideal base camp for our family getaway. The perfectly charming cabin was well appointed with everything we could need, immaculate, and so cozy. We loved that it was walking distance to their dock, lake water sports, and local trails, like Angel Falls. We split our time between the lake and Yosemite, which was just 30 miles away. For such a quaint cabin, there was plenty of room for everyone to carve out their own areas and still feel homey in the central living area. Kitchen was spacious, two bathrooms were perfect for our group. We certainly utilized the back porch and loved the convenience of the set-aside laundry room. We look forward to visiting again.

Thank you for your stay and review. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back soon.
This stay was fantastic. The dock to swim off of was awesome. We even saw a bear very near our house. Kind of scary but still awesome. Only issue wasn’t able to use washer dryer didn’t know about the key. We asked the question but didn’t get an answer so we just put towels out on the deck . Definitely will go again. I’d

Carol..thank you for staying with us and hope you come back again soon. We apologize for the miss communication on the laundry let but appreciate the feedback and have already discussed changing where we keep it and making sure the location is part of our welcome message for future guests. Thanks again!
This is a great cabin super close to the lake. We walked to the lake (less than 5 min) everyday and my kids loved swimming off the beach and fishing off the private dock. The highlight of the cabin is the giant patio out back. We grilled every night and sat outside enjoying the surroundings. Very quiet and peaceful! We also got to see a bear walking down the road right in front of the house which was super cool! Do pay attention to the rules about putting trash in the bear locker- we saw a house down the road whose trash had clearly been rummaged through by a bear and that did not look fun to clean up. Other great points: Kitchen is well stocked with spices and oil, etc. The bathrooms were also stocked with shampoo and conditioner and the laundry room had soap and dryer sheets which we appreciated! Overall we had a great stay and found the hosts to be very communicative, friendly and welcoming!
My family of 4 had a great stay at your property. The place was clean and well stocked. Location was great. Having use of the dock for our boat was a huge plus. The owners were great and easy to contact. Would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin near the lake. The property was very clean and as described online. Communication with the property manager was easy. The lake and surrounding area are beautiful!
I cant speak enough about how amazing the hosts are! If you plan a trip to Bass lake 100% stay here.

We love to travel and appreciate great accommodations. Our greatest memories as a family have been traveling and renting homes vs. staying in a hotel. We are blessed to have this home and want to share it with others so they can make similar memories.
