The cabin was perfect. We were looking to relax at a lake for a few days and this was exactly what we did here. Our hosts were amazing you won’t meet two nicer people We will definitely be returning in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay. Its just perfect for Sportsmen hunt, fish, or to bring a family together in Southeast Ohio. Burr Oak is a quiet lake away from the mainstream and the State park has alot to offer outdoors next to Wayne National Forest
Very clean property well stocked especially the bathroom was very surprised at that. Owners are nearby if you have any issues, we did at 1st with the door & they were immediately there to help. Would recommend
Well stocked cabin, clean and met all our needs. Owners met us and offered help and wood for fire pit for small fee. Enjoyed Burr Oak lake and Mammoth March Hike.
We enjoyed our stay very much! Qian and Dustin were excellent hosts and the house provided for our every need. We booked to attend our daughter’s graduation from Ohio University. Our only complaint is that it was not closer to OU, but the tranquil country setting was beautiful!
The house and property are in a beautiful, rural area. We were here in October with warm, sunny days. The trees were changing color. The house may be difficult to find, so be sure to get directions. This is a great place for hunting season. Our only complaint was that we didn't have the right internet password, and the TV is on an Amazon Fire stick, which needs an internet connection. Luckily, we brought our own hotspot. The house would be great for a small family, or a group of friends, with three bedrooms and 1½ baths. It was so homey and comfortable! It was close to Athens, Nelsonville, and Hocking Hills State Park. Also close to Long Ridge trailhead for ATVs and bikes, in Wayne National Forest.
Overall was a good stay, we had a few issues right off the bat and the homeowners, who lives across the street, were able to fix most of them right away. It was in a beautiful, wooded area and close to the state parks. The roads were way hillier and curvier than I was expecting but that has nothing to do with the house. The house was good, very small staircase and the ceilings were very low, I'm 5ft.2 and could touch the ceilings. So, I can imagine anyone over 6 ft would have an issue. The only real problem that was not solved while we were there was the ability to lock the back door. They had done some renovations, and the lock was messed up so while we were gone during the day there was not a way for us to lock up. Being a single mother with kids it was a bit scary to have the home unlocked all day and have to come back and check it to make sure we were safe to enter. There was also no curtain on the bathroom window so that was weird, yes you are in the woods but there are neighbors, and the garage is right outside the bathroom window, which the homeowners used frequently while we were there. A bit awkward, we improvised but I would suggest this get resolved for future renters. My only other comment would be there was no information for the home when we arrived, like Wi-Fi password, what do I do with the garbage when its full, where do I put the towels? That info is much needed. Good stay overall.
The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen and bath were well stocked with necessities.
The owners were very responsive.
Very nice firepit and charcoal grill. Owners will supply firewood for a very reasonable price.
I wil advise that there are mounted deer heads, just in case that is offputting if you're not prepared. The stairs are steep, but the stair railing was very sturdy.
Overall, a 5 rating, and I recommend.
The house was amazing very roomy and up to date. Area was very close to local hunting areas. The owners are absolutely amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.
The property was perfect for our weekend getaway. Plenty of room for our family. The house was extremely clean and inviting. Loved the firepit and my kids loved the pool table. There were just a few things to note. The grill is not gas, it is charcoal so we had to cook our hot dogs on the camp fire. Turned out to be a fun experience. I would bring a non stick pan for cooking. There were non to use there. The can opener was really hard to use also. I would bring my own next time. Also, we had an infestation of stink bugs which is out of the owners control, maybe spray around the house to avoid future problems. Overall, it was a positive trip and we would rent the property again.
The house is located in a quiet area that is very nestled in the hills of Ohio. The proximity to Burr Oak Lake and park is perfect. We loved the character of the place and the decor was very cute. Our hosts were the best! They provided little extras that you don't usually get with a vacation rental. We would recommend this to everyone!
Went for a little weekend get away with family. This was a good halfway point for us to meet up at. The property host was easy to communicate with anytime I had a question. This place is very clean, which is a huge plus for me. There is only 2 window ac units, one in each main living area. It would get alil warm during the day but ended up raining most of the weekend, which helped with cool it down some. I recommend bringing a fan for your bedroom at night. The beds weren’t the most comfortable but I feel like that’s typical anytime you stay somewhere. Overall, I would stay here again. It’s a good quiet getaway.
Cute cottage. The kitchen was the best equipped of any vacation rental we have experienced. They even have an air fryer. It is off the beaten path, quiet, and the hosts are nearby and very responsive. Lovely yard and fireplace. I even tried out the pool table! Beds were comfortable. Great experience.
Three of us came from the flatlands of Indiana to drive the roads of southern Ohio and used Glouster as our home base.
Clean and tidy house with everything that you would need. They even had extra toiletries in case you forgot something!
Very nice hosts and would definitely stay there again.
Very clean and well equipped. Owner even left fresh veggies in the fridge for us! It’s a nice place to stay if you’re looking to enjoy nature and get out of the city
