This property was delightful! It was a comfortable home away from home while we visited Crater Lake and the surrounding countryside. It was well stocked. The location was so peaceful; we enjoyed spending time on the covered patio, watching the birds and listening to the cattle. And the host was very responsive.
We had a very enjoyable stay. Loved the peaceful and entertaining scenery. The house was so well stocked that if you forgot anything I’m sure you’d find it there. Mary Anna was very helpful and informative. The bald eagles were so much fun to watch from the porch Oh and Crater Lake was amazing. Loved it!
I chose this place because it looked very isolated and convenient to Crater Lake. Then I got worried because I did not get good directions to it, and saw pictures showing a trailer, and barn right next to it. Once we got there, and in, it was great! Very spacious, full of kitchen supplies, A/C, and comfortable furniture. There is a neighbor we met, and he was very quiet and nice.
We found the place to be very clean. Plenty of room for the 2 of us. We made our own meals here. (There is no garbage disposal or dish washer but no problem for the 2 of us.) The place was surprisingly quiet even though it is near the road. Ample space to sit out under roof of large patio. Can see sunsets over the mountains from the place. Very good location to get to Crater Lake National Park. We got up early and easily beat the crowds and toured the park. Mary Anna was prompt in responding to us. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I spent 4 lovely days at the Cascade Mountain-View Retreat. It was an easy drive to visit the many activities at Crater Lake - and a relaxing and cozy retreat to relax in the evenings.
The retreat had everything we needed to prepare a few meals at home - olive oil, spices, coffee, tea and a pantry with numerous basic supplies. The host, Mary Anna, thought of everything a guest might need - cold water bottles in the refrigerator, extra towels, bath supplies, a variety of pillows to select from, and local event brochures. We had one brief internet outage which Mary Anna and her Son quickly responded to.
I highly recommend you visit this retreat with so many amenities and a great location to visit Crater Lake!
We had a lovely stay at this gem of a location close to Crater Lake. Comfortable, clean and well stocked. Easy check in and minimal check out requests. (No you do not need to strip beds, take out trash etc). Mary Anna was prompt to respond and had great suggestions of where to go locally. Would stay here again.

My wife and I took our lab here for 1 night in Nov 2022. The cottage was clean and quiet. My only comment is the yard is fenced on 3 sides and you are right by the road so take that into consideration if you are bringing a dog. The VHS collection was outstanding!
As close as you can get to Crater Lake without camping in the park, about 5 mins to the Park boundry, about a 20 min beautiful drive to the actual gate/lake. It was very clean and quiet. Would definitely stay there again for any future trips to Crater Lake
We were late getting reservations for the lodge, but when we saw the conditions of the lodge, we were glad we stayed here. In pics it looks like nothing is near you, but there are 2 houses/trailers really close on one side and then open on the other side.

If you like quiet country living this is for you!
A couple suggestions that would improve the guest experience:
1. An adjustable shower head, preferably hand held. The current one has NO way to be adjusted. Hit me in the face!
2. Get "normal" TV. Personally, I hate ROKU. With the prices asked for VRBOs, cable or dish TV ought to be provided.
3. Get new pillows and sheets for the twin beds. Pillows are flat and sheets on one bed felt like fine sandpaper.
The owner was very responsive with communications. And the property is conveniently located to Crater Lake Nat'l Park which was important to us.
Five minutes from Crater Lake entrance, but closer to 30 minutes to get to the actual Lake. That being said, it is one of the closest places to stay when entering the South entrance.
Located in a very scenic area. We would stay here again!
House is close to the road but minimal traffic noise (and minimal traffic in June).
This is a beautiful home located in a beautiful place
This is a beautiful home located in a beautiful place. The homeowner has thoughtfully provided all the comforts of home. The location is amazing -Beauty surrounded us and it is five minutes from the entrance to the Crater Lake National Park. I would definitely stay here again if given the chance to bring my family out to this beautiful area of Oregon.
My review is for our interaction with the host: MaryAnna was very accommodating and understanding when a winter storm made staying at the cabin difficult. She was very responsive and worked with us to arrange for different dates. Thank you MaryAnna, your flexibility was much appreciated!!

location good for Crater Lake and kitchen great!
Twin beds small length and pillow flat dad to use quilt under??
This was the perfect place to stay while my partner and I worked remotely during the day and explored Crater Lake in the afternoon/evening. The internet connection was strong enough for two separate, simultaneous video calls (not often the case in more rural settings), and it's a short drive to the Crater Lake rim. The house itself is very well appointed (particularly in the kitchen), spacious, and very comfortable. I was particularly a fan of the covered outdoor space - it was very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again as a jumping off point for Crater Lake and the surrounding area.
GATE WAY. We loved staying here for 5 nights we went into the park every day, and loved the proximity. Took maybe 20 minutes to the entrance.
GETAWAY. The home was perfect for us. The overhead fans in every space, and opening the windows for the breeze made the house temperature very comfortable at night. We brought our own fan but didn’t need it. Everything is furnished to perfection…just open every drawer. It’s all there.
We loved sitting on the covered porch every evening: rustling trees, car’s returning from the park, moon rising, the photogenic barn, and the breeze.
It’s well appointed and very comfortable. We loved it. Recommend.
This was the perfect spot for our Crater Lake getaway. Peaceful surroundings, incredible star gazing at night, fully equipped kitchen and a fun VHS/DVD collection. Even in high heat, the house stays cool and there’s a wonderful cross breeze on the porch. Mary Anna is a lovely host and we would absolutely stay here again.
