We drove in from Louisiana. The check in process was super easy. The owner was always readily available to talk to. It was very clean. The cabin had plenty of space for our family. We LOVED the layout of the place. After a full day of snowboarding- we loved having 3 full bathrooms for everyone to have a hot shower. The fire place was super cozy in the evening. We had a wonderful Christmas Vacation & will definitely be back.
The cabin was amazing. Nicely furnished and very cozy. The bed was very comfortable. Pet friendly with pet water and food bowls. Even had pet treats. Our Jackson loved it as much as we did. Very close to Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, and lots of restaurants. The only downside was the fenced back yard was not as pictured. Chairs were thrown to the side and newspapers were all over the ground. Overall, highly recommend this cabin in the mountains.

IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE, DO NOT STAY HERE! Ineed to add more.
We arrived lare night on a sunday. Had a heck of a time getting the combo lock to let us in. The cabin was beautifully furnished and clean. However, there were no dog poop bags as promised and we couldn't get the upstairs A/C to work so I had a warm sleepless first night. I emailed/called the manager regarding the previously stated issues. He never replied in any way. We had also asked for a mop because the dogs were a bit drippy faced, and though we had plenty of our "dog towels", a mop would have made things easier. Turns out we REALLY needed a mop the next morning. I took a shower in the upstairs bathroom and when I finished, I went downstairs and it was literally raining in the kitchen! My friend had scrounged evety bowl she could find and had them strategically placed around the kitchen. Thete were bowls in the middle of the floor, on top of the refrigerator, various sections of the counter, and I was horrified to see water pouring out 2 of the ceiling light fixtures! I told my friend not to touch anything because now the situation could become deadly. Water and electricity don't mix! Thats a deadly combo!. I again left a message with the manager/owner? and got no reply. We had to leave as we had appts. When we got home that evening, I walked to the house next to us but no one answered. So, I walked down the hill and up another hill to a kind lady named Sarah's house. She said she wasn't sure of the owners name (she had lived there for only a year) but the guy who lived
The house was wonderful, my mom and I had a great time. We took our two dogs and they loved the fenced in area. Note it is on the side of the home. The porch up stairs was the best view. The home is located between Newland & Linnville, great location! We stayed for 11 days and enjoyed our stay. A vacuum would have been nice for the long stay there is just a broom which does not work on carpets. Great place!

The property was very clean and well stocked. The hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with.
We visited from florida and couldnt have been more pleased with out trip. I loved the fact that everything was clean and organized and there wasn't clutter. The Master was fabulous with the his and her bathroom is what we called them. only wished that the bed was a King for how large the room was. so must storage was available and the location was perfect.... so close to all the things you visit to do. We drove to boone to eat mostly. Highly recommend this place and will be visiting soon.
First of all, the host was exceptional. If we had any questions, he always replied within minutes. Even cared that we made it home safely. Next the cabin was truly amazing. Me, my wife, and my daughter went and we all loved it. Upstairs was the master bedroom with an outside balcony, and 2 full size bathrooms which were well equipped with all the bathroom needs (Even q-tips). A large screen tv, loveseat ,and comfortable bed made up the master bedroom which was rather large. Which our teenage daughter took over. 2 bathrooms is a teenage girls dream.
We stayed in the downstairs guest bedroom which was still nice sized with its own tv and it's own entry to the 3rd full sized bathroom. Also fully stocked. Had a nice fire pit area which we could not use due to snow storm Izzy. The heaters and propane fireplace kept the cabin nice and cozy. Provided games and books for entertainment.
Even provided an outside grill with propane tanks for cooking and grilling. Kitchen was also very well stocked. Including k-cup coffee and also a regular coffee maker. Coffee provided for both. The only thing the kitchen was missing was hot chocolate. Had a washer and dryer all in one machine, which I never seen before, with detergent. Very dog friendly providing dishes for the dog and doggy bags to keep the outside clean. Cherokee, our dog, loved the place.
Host only requires that the towels be put on the washer, trash taken out, and dishes clean. Which all three should be done by the guest anyhow. Cabin is very close to several attractions including ski beech and sugar mountain. We will difinatly stay again at this beautiful place. Thanks Arnold Vevang and family
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. We are a family of 4 with 2 younger children and this was a really nice VRBO.
1. It snowed and it was 18 degrees when we arrived to our location—we had a 4x4 which helped us to get into the neighborhood. There are no steep hills or driveways but there was ice but it was just part of the storm that passed through.
2. Alex was very laid back. Just wash dishes and bring down your towels as well as take out trash prior to leaving. Very reasonable and no outlandish requests of stripping bedding or sweeping of floors like other VRBOs before you leave.
3. Fully stocked pantry with salt, pepper oil, coffee and sugar/creamer. We forgot a few condiments so it was nice to have this available.
4. Perfect, perfect location as Sugar Mountain is 5 miles away and away from
all the hustle and bustle. There is a Food Lion nearby for last minute groceries and a Walgreens before you enter town. Central to gem mining, Linville caverns, and Grandfather MTN. The peddling BBQ pig place is a must but get there early before they run of brisket!
5. Super cozy with games, books, fireplace and cozy but clean furniture!
6. Fenced in yard allowed us to have our dog roam around and we could see the kids and dog from the window. Beautiful porch upstairs and downstairs to enjoy the view and peacefulness of the neighborhood.
7. Everything is updated and fully stocked. The only thing and it’s not a criticism but the laundry took forever but the clothes were super clean as there is a washer/dryer in one combo so it just naturally takes longer so plan accordingly.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The kids were happy and we created beautiful memories in this lovely cabin!
This place is beautiful and so close to mountain views, Grandfather Mountain, Waterfalls Park, Gem mining, Snow tubing. We did it all and enjoyed coming back each evening to a cabin that is beautiful and spacious. The fireplace is amazing and warms up the living room!

About the host
Hosted by Alexander Birger
Hello travelers! My daughter Maria and I are enjoying running AirBnB as our hobby. We both have other day-time jobs, but we take our host responsibilities very seriously! We hope that you will have a wonderful stay in our properties, and we also hope to make new friends! Alex and Maria.
Why they chose this property
Cedar Lodge is truly unique, and staying in CL is unique unforgettable experience. Each time we come there, there is a feeling that we don't want to leave. Come and experience it for yourself.
What makes this property unique
Location is simply unbeatable, but the most impressive is the cabin itself. Open the door and inhale the smell of pinewood, and enjoy the view from the balcony!
