This victorian style home is located at the heart of Jim Thorpe, neighboring the Asa Packer Mansion and the Harry Packer Mansion. Only half a block from the town train station which offers scenic rides in between the mountains. The apartment has a direct view of the surrounding mountains and the Lehigh river and is located at the entrance of the switchback Trail. It has plenty of parking space and direct access to this beautiful trail leading to the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

Great time in Jim Thorp!

We had a wonderful time in JT! The house was quite cozy and quaint. Clean. Property manager replied within a few minutes. We arrived early and we were able to enter the home which was greatly appreciated. Rooms are large, air conditioning was wonderful too. Walking distance to Downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

Love Jim Thorpe area. Even a little snow to make it prettier. Great location for everyone to do a little of their own thing. The house was nice. A little small for our larger group, but we made it work cause the location was great. Owner was very helpful when needed.

Great Place

Really great location and a good-sized place. We easily fit 3 couples and 7 children (ages 3 to 7). We loved sitting out on the front and back porches, and the kids loved playing in the yard. The living room was very comfortable and lots of seating. The walk into town is a bit steep, but there was enough of a shoulder and sidewalks that it felt safe, even with lots of little kids. The AC units worked great on all 3 levels. We would stay here again.

Group stay in Jim Thorpe

I was looking for a location that was convenient for my adult children and I to have a holiday gathering. This property came up from my filters and fit the bill. Communication was great. It was easy to reserve and share info with all who were coming. House was very clean, and more spacious than I imagined. It accomodated our large group comfortably. Very happy with price and experience

Day of cancelation beware

Booked this property for a ski weekend getaway to celebrate my brother's birthday. On the day of check in no information about how to access the property has been uploaded. I messaged the owner to ask. Within minutes I get an email saying my trip had been refunded with the message due to illness. Under 6 hours from arrival we now had no where to stay and hundreds of dollars in ski tickets and rentals. The owner would not respond to any follow up messages for more information. I ended up having to book a hotel 35 minutes away ruining my well planned trip to Jim Thorpe and downgrading our experience while exploding my stress level.

Great stay... But details in description left out

Easy check in. Owner very responsive. I had asked if hair dryer before arrived, she said there was one, but was broken when we got there. She brought one immediately to the house.😀 I felt like a few things in the description were a little off but we made do. There are no "Murphy beds".One of the "bedrooms" is just a very small room w no closet, and a squeaky daybed w a pull out bed underneath, that I wouldn't suggest for anyone more than a child. The three queen bedrooms are very comfortable, nice, and spacious. The stairs to the 3rd fl are scary, narrow.King bed is great, but the room is very odd to say the least. If someone is in bed you could see someone take a shower or on the toilet!! No wall separating the bedroom from the bathroom, even though would be easy to construct one. Room divider is useless. TINY SHOWER. So if you have a house full of adults I would basically say you have one and a half baths, and the full bathroom on the third floor can only be used if no one else is up there. Very strange side room off that, basically an attic. One of the weirdest sleeping situations, with two twin beds very high up on these platforms that I would not feel comfortable with myself or my child sleeping on, and the room has no AC. Maybe kids would think fun. Make sure you look at the pictures to see if the house fits your needs.Clean, well stocked, GREAT location. The hill was a challenge! Really enjoyed fire pit & deck. TW...info on ped cancer & death, should list in details.

Great location, great home for a larger group. Reccomend highly. Perfect location to get into the center of town and plan your time there. Also appreciated the story shared by the family. It was very sentimental to feel included into the house's history.

Great location for staying in Jim Thorpe. It is almost three hours out of New York City. If your there with anyone other than your immediate family there is only two bathrooms for bathing. One on the second floor and one on the third floor. The one on the third floor is up a very narrow staircase (not good for older folks or individuals with disabilities. Also, since it is on the third floor in a beautiful room the bathroom is open with no doors. There is an additional room on the third floor for children not adults. On the second floor that really only has 3 excellent bedrooms, there is another very small room really for children. One last thing to mention, many of the neighbors alerted us to the bears in the area and to make sure we did not leave garbage outside. We did go downtown and take a train ride, trolly car, experience all that the town square had to offer. You should buy your tickets early as well as if you are driving get there at least one hour before to find parking. We went on a Saturday and it was really crowded. Overall, the weekend stay was great and I would recommend Josephine's house to anyone visiting Jim Thorpe.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property and the house are very beautiful with lots of thoughtful amenities. The location is wonderful and in easy walking distance to downtown as long as you’re okay with walking up/down the hill which was no problem for us! Would absolutely stay here again.

Comfortable & Roomy Home

We enjoyed our stay at this homey, clean and interesting house. The description on the VRBO site was complete and accurate. Loved the classic woodwork in this home. Close to center of town but we are all senior citizens so drove rather than walk the hills, but it is close enough to walk if you don't mind walking uphill to return. Also appreciated the off-street parking.

Beautiful home!

We had a great stay. There were 9 of us and a pet. Bedrooms are spacious, mattresses comfortable and linen clean. Plenty of space to hang out in kitchen and dining room, furniture in living room very cozy, there was even a lighted Christmas tree! Communication was amazing with Patricia responding within minutes to any query. She also updated me on status of roads and had salt on porch ready for use if necessary. Would definitely recommend!!

Nice and reasonably priced house in Jim Thorpe

House clean and nicely appointed. Heating system odd and a bit hard to control. Pillows poor. Beds ok. Not in walking distance to town as we had thought, especially in freezing cold weather with children.

The property owner did not send me code to house and did not respond to text messages or phone call nessage. Vrbo could not reach her either. I had to do refund with vrbo and try to find a hotel to take in 11 people for 2 nights near area and as we had an event planned. A very difficult situation

Perfect location

Location was great! Few min walk to town. Though the walk up the hill back is a challenge. Host was great and responded quickly. House was clean and spacious and fit my whole family comfortably. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay at Jim Thorpe.
