The house sits down a long private and gated gravel driveway, secluded behind trees and not visible from the road.

Sliding glass door opens up to partially covered deck and leads to a quarter acre of maintained yard with firepit and hot tub, surrounded by nearly 6 acres of natural private land.

A nice stroll (~600 ft) through the yard and property to a raised boardwalk leading to your private dock where you can swim, paddleboard, kayak or boat in the calm cove/inlet. Bring your own boat and you can explore 20+ miles of the (massive) river from Sandpoint to the Albeni Falls Dam, or 148 sq miles of the lake (largest lake in Idaho!). The area around the dock is a no-wake zone, so boats rarely come by and it is safe for all ages to swim and relax with minimal water traffic.

Amazing home for our team retreat!
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It had everything we needed, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the best part was the water access. We spent most of our days out on the dock and water and it was absolutely perfect. We wish we had more days to spend here and enjoy the other amenities like the fire pit and hot tub. We would 100% consider this home for future getaways!

Family Reunion Paradise
This property was amazing! We wanted a waterfront house for 11 family members from England, Boise, Spokane, and Liberty Lake to spend fun, quality time together, and this place did not disappoint! The house was well-equipped from the kitchen utensils / appliances, linens, toys, and games to the kayaks, stand up paddle board, hot tub, RubberDockie and various outdoor games -- no one was ever bored. There was so much room for everyone to do what they wanted either together or alone. The owners have certainly put a lot of thought and care in to wanting their guests to be comfortable and feel at home. Lots of great memories made this week!

Week on the Pend Oreille
This house was absolutely amazing lots of rooms room to spread out. Really large kitchen fully functional. You wouldn’t even have to leave the house if you brought enough food to last it’s so much fun relaxing on the dock, playing games in the big yard, or floating on the mats out in the lake there’s plenty to do. I would highly recommend this home to big families from everywhere this was the most amazing getaway that I have had yet and I would definitely come back again. This home and property is a five star and if I could give it a higher score I would.

Positive experience on Dufort Rd
We needed a comfortable, clean residence for our daughters, their children and two greatgrandsons. We really appreciated the space in the home, the cleanliness, the availability of so many amenities. Though there are close neighbors you don't know they're there for the trees. The dock area was great for the one daughter's pontoon boat, and the yard was great for everyone, with games supplied. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub due to sightseeing. We also didn't realize the host had left some delicious cookies until the last day. The beds were comfortable, the rooms cozy and private, and the two showers excellent. Couldn't find an iron and ironing board, but it worked fine without. The entrance to the property wasn't well marked on a curve, so we hung streamers to warn us. It was also a bit dangerous exiting the driveway onto the fairly busy highway. The driveway gate is almost too narrow for pulling a trailer, you need to drive past and turn around to enter easily. Overall, we'd like to rent this property again someday. About the host

Hosted by Austyn Cunningham

Host profile image
Hello, My name is Austyn.
I grew up in a Seattle suburb until 2014 when I moved across the state to Spokane, WA to pursue a career in Real Estate & Finance and to be close to my brothers and my nieces and nephews.

I spend as much time as possible outdoors; Hiking, Climbing, Swimming, boating, watersports, camping, backpacking and traveling is most likely what I am doing when I’m off work.

I love being a Short Term Rental Host, and do my best to insure I earn an honest 5-star review from each guest..

I began hosting when I was 19/yo and I couldn’t handle my roommates anymore but I couldn’t afford my mortgage without additional income, so I kicked them out and began renting out my 3-spare bedrooms. Now 7-years and 4 houses later I’ve transformed a long abandoned historic house that was the eyesore of the neighborhood into a high quality Airbnb that brings the neighborhood up. I love all my neighbors and they fully support what I’m doing. I also manage a couple downtown Spokane condos in partnership with local builders, and rural lake houses in Idaho for some buddies of mine.

Hosting is a passion of mine and I strive to have my listing stand above all the others, I do my best to earn a 5-star review from every guest I host, but more importantly when a guest returns year after year I know I’m providing excellent service.

On all of my listings you will deal with me and only me, from your initial inquiry to your checkout, I manage, decorate, supply and clean everything myself to insure only the highest quality. And although I almost never meet any of my guests I try to make each stay personal and memorable

Why they chose this property

This is a unique home as it is secluded on acreage, open concept and sits on a inlet which makes the waterfront calm and quiet even on the busiest weekends, it was custom designed and built in 2016 and has been a family getaway spot since then.
It sold in 2023 and I (Austyn) have continued managing the property in partnership with the new owners Erik & Tanya who purchased it as a getaway home for themselves as well as their family and friends. The rental availability is dependent on when they are enjoying the property for themselves.

What makes this property unique

Being set back ~600ft from the water (and 800ft from the road) means the house and yard are secluded and private, enjoy playing in the yard, listening to music, having a bonfire and knowing that there's nobody around besides those who traveled with you.
