About this property

6 Bedrooms, Lakefront, Hot-Tub & Private Dock

Bedroom: 6 | Bathroom: 3

Enjoy a recently remodeled lake-front home perfect for family get-togethers and vacation getaways. High-speed Internet makes remote work a breeze!

The lakehouse is beautifully designed. The home is just steps away from the lake with an easy and relatively flat walk to the water. It is one of the closest houses to Virginia International Raceway on the lake and has a paved neighborhood road and mostly paved driveway.

Relax at a spacious 6-bedroom home located in the heart of Hyco Lake with incredible views. We provide everything you need to make your stay as enjoyable, comfortable, and convenient as possible.

THE SPACE

Life is better at the lake!!!

Our Hyco Home is located in the most convenient part of Hyco Lake. The house is right across the water from the Hyco Lake Marina and the camp-ground.

In June 2021 we remodeled almost every aspect of the home starting with the kitchens and bathrooms and down to the door hinges and outlet covers. Every design decision was based on what would provide our guests the best possible experience. We brightened up the home with new lighting, painting, and opened up the home anyway we could. The home was designed by remote workers to be for remote work. Along with high-speed internet (only a few homes on the lake have this fast of the internet), 3 bedrooms have private desks and there is plenty of room in the common areas to work.

We brought in high-quality furniture that is both comfortable and stylish. Most of the beds are gel memory foam.

We upgraded to the best possible internet (speeds up to 1000 Mbit/sec).

We will continue to upgrade the home over time as well!

Feel free to also check out our sister properties "Acorn Landing", "Large-Hyco-Home" and "Hidden Haven". While this home is newly listed and does not have many reviews you can check out any of these other listings or my profile to get an idea of the level of effort we put into each property.

The home is very spacious with 6 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.

**NOTE: There is no refund if the jacuzzi is not working. We will try our best to make sure it is working and in good condition at all times but are NOT responsible for a refund if it isn't working or is offline for repairs or maintenance.

There is plenty of room to sleep comfortably. Hyco Haven has two floors that both have large living rooms and patios.

The top floor has two king master bedrooms. The main master has an attached private bathroom with a double vanity, shower, and jacuzzi tub. There is a desk in the master, a 42" tv, and a large walk-in closet.

The second master that we call the "auxiliary master" has a king bed, a reading nook, and an attached bathroom that has a shower tub.

The main area has a remodeled kitchen and island with 4 bar stools. The 6 person dining room table is right off the island The main floor is attached to the garage. For the time being, guests are not permitted to use the garage.

Each upstairs bedroom and the main area have both sheer and black-out curtains.

Both master bedrooms, as well as the living space, have easy sliding door access to the spacious back deck. The back deck has a covered patio with a large 10 person picnic table. Right off the back deck is the grilling patio with a grill and another table with seating.

The downstairs area was made to entertain. There is a pool table as well as a large tv area with a sectional couch and 55" tv. The basement bathroom is right off of this area.

Four bedrooms surround the downstairs living area.

Three of the bedrooms have queen beds. Two of them have a desk. Two of them also have sliding doors that walk out to the basement patio and have sheer as well as black-out curtains.

The fourth bedroom has a bunk-bed with a full-on the bottom and twin bed on the top.

There are also two chairs that can be pulled out and turned into queen beds.

Below is a summary of the sleeping arrangements.

Upstairs
Master bedroom 1: King bed
"Auxilary" Master bedroom 2: King bed

Downstairs
Bedroom 3: Queen bed
Bedroom 4: Queen bed
Bedroom 5: Queen bed and chair that can be pulled out into a twin
Bedroom 6: Bunk bed with full bed on the bottom and twin on the top

Common area: Chair that can be pulled out into a twin

All the lake house essentials are covered! Linens and bath/lake towels are included. Washer/dryer units in the laundry room with soap and dryer sheets.

The dock area has a newly renovated bar area with four bar stools and a tv. We provide 2 paddle-boards with paddles in addition to two kayaks. We provide assorted life jackets but do not guarantee we have perfect sizes for every single group of guests.

The home is a straight-shot from both Roxboro (15-20) minutes away) and Danville (about 20-25 mins). Both of which have several restaurant and grocery store options. Hyco Lake is close to the triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill).

The road leading to the house is completely paved (this is a rarity on Hyco).

GUEST ACCESS

We have been working to remodel the home and using the garage as our work-shop. Do not enter the garage. There is plenty of space to park in the driveway.

The neighborhood has very nice homes and is peaceful. The road is very well paved. However, it is a windy road. Please drive very slowly and carefully on the way into the neighborhood. Please be respectful of our neighbors as there are full-time residents in this neighborhood. No loud music or noise! Especially at night.

Great Place for Family Reconnect
The Lake House was a great place for my family to reconnect from our busy and hectic schedule. The house is spacious with a nice view of the lake. We enjoyed the covered pier for fishing and hanging out. Plus, a spacious covered deck for gathering. The kitchen worked well for meal preparation with plenty of open space upstairs and downstairs for socializing.

We were in town for the race and this property was really close and yet still on the lake with nobody bothering us. It's a beautiful house on a relaxing lake.

Amazing weekend at the lake!
We had a fantastic weekend at Hyco Haven! House had everything we needed and the rooms were all very well-appointed. Only minor thing was that there were lots of bugs and cobwebs down on the dock/boathouse that we cleared off. We loved using the paddleboards and kayaks and rented a boat one day too. The property management was very communicative throughout the entire process. Would recommend this house to anyone!

Hyco Haven Fall Stay
We have a mixed reaction about our stay at the Semora, NC VRBO, “HYCO HAVEN” on the Lake. We came in the fall to take in the cool, crisp outdoor weather and relax on a lakeside with peace and tranquility. On the positive side: the facility was well appointed and equipped. The kitchen had pots, pans, dishes, and glassware we needed. The bathrooms had sufficient supplies and towels. The bedrooms had comfortable and cozy bedding. The living room area was spacious and furnished nicely. The recreation space with the pool table was one of the highlights. The fire pit was a highlight; a wonderful place to spend time with an ample supply of firewood. Kayaks and paddle boards; although cool weather, these help to get us out on to the water. The dock was also a great place to relax and read in the comfortable recliners. On the not so positive side: We first had to chip away a considerable amount of ice from the back wall of the freezer. Apparently ice collection bin was not correctly positioned; water flowed onto the back wall and froze. Eventually we had sufficient ice. Judi pulled back the curtains and shears. The rod holding shears fell on her head. We had to check each rod and tighten the screws tight keep the rods from coming apart. Also, the front storm door would not close shut and would blow open with a gust of wind. The dust accumulation under the master bed was heavy. In the Jacuzzi tub and we found a long black hair. No one in our party has black hair. Also, the glass on all eight of the sliding doors units need to be thoroughly cleaned. Not a window nor a sliding door had a screen. We were compelled, due to the bugs, to keep everything shut and miss out on nature’s fall evening delights. Also annoying was the sounds of wildlife creatures in the attic directly above the master bedroom. At certain times of the night, they were very active. When making arrangement at the outset, it was not clear that the busy highway 57 was across the water only about 500 yards away. We did not appreciate the constant noise from the traffic. We felt that the pricing led us to believe this was a top-quality facility. Although the house was recently renovated, the material and furnishing used were not the high-end we expected. Overall, we made the best of the time spent at this VRBO. However, we will seek another VRBO for any future stay at Lake Hyco. We hope you understand.

Labor Day weekend stay
First, let me say that the inside of the house is beautiful and the location on the lake is great! Very easy to access by land and water! Lights, Kitchen drawers, kitchen cabinets, and WiFi are all labeled with instructions which was helpful. The house Is beautifully decorated and furnished! The amount of money we paid to stay here I was a little disappointed in a few/list of things that are easily fixable and could be better maintained: The yard was a complete mess there were brush piles all over, trash in the yard (I assume from previous guests), the decks were dirty, outside chairs were dirty - they had to be washed before we could sit in them, the refrigerator on the dock had to be completely cleaned it was so dirty on the inside - we couldn’t even use it at first until we throughly cleaned it ourselves. The counter space on the dock was the same the counter was just dirty - that had to be cleaned. Once we got situated and wanted To grill out steaks , we found 2 completely empty propane tanks under the grill , (which is fine) had a note been left that the propane tank needed to be replaced. We had to leave and go get propane. Once we got back to the house after leaving again to get propane it was dark outside and the outside lights on that side of the house where the grill is , are all burnt out. We had to use flashlights to grill our food. I think this property is a great set up for rental property but I think the maintenance needs to be more closely monitored for the price people are paying to stay here it should be better maintained and well manicured outside and inside .

I've loved the lake life since I was little spending my summers with family on Lake Michigan, Lake Mahopac in New York, and in Minnesota. When my family moved to North Carolina, we knew we had to keep the tradition alive and were lucky to stumble upon Hyco Lake, a little known hidden gem on the NC / VA border. I love Hyco and everything about it. People are friendly, the water is calm, and the lake has a rural charm while being within an hour from the research triangle and Chapel Hill (where I grew up). I'm renting out my family's beloved childhood lake house so guests can enjoy it while I’m up north (moved to NY after graduating from UNC, GO HEELS!) and my parents are empty nesters. Also, helping friends rent out their beloved home so guests can enjoy when they aren't living the lake life themselves! Recently partnered with a childhood friend to create a Wrightsville experience at his families' beach house and another in downtown Wilmington. Aim to provide new and unique experiences to share with guests.

Why they chose this property

I love all things Hyco Lake. Happy to provide a new experience for many to enjoy

What makes this property unique

This home is located in the most convenient part of the lake. While it enjoys the benefits of easy access to the main roads and Marina it also enjoys privacy by not having homes on the adjacent lots and being tucked into a private cove. From the back porch you have elevated peninsula lot views.
