This is a super unique set-up but some cool spaces for a family to have their own room. The hosts live next door and are super responsive for any issues that come up.

Paul and his friends were exceptional guests who were a pleasure to host. Clean, communicative and friendly.
Always welcome here.
This is a charmingly eccentric 19th century Ottoman house in Chania's Halepa neighborhood restored by the host who lives next door. It is narrow and tall with a small dining room kitchen (and small pull-out sofa bed) downstairs. Next level is a grand high-ceilinged bedroom with a door leading to an outside terrace. A ladder leads to a loft bed. The rooftop terrace was my favorite element, good for people watching. The kitchen, though, is too cramped to do any serious cooking. The neighborhood is terrific. The house is a block from the sea and a 15 minute or so walk into old town Chania, which means, unless you plan to drive to outlying beaches or villages, you could do without a car here. Panagiotis, the host, and his wife, Apollonia, are both helpful and present. Enjoyed my stay here.

Thank you for being such wonderful guests. We really enjoyed hosting you and seeing you making the most of your stay. (One correction: Not an "Ottoman house". It was built by Greeks for Greeks in traditional Cretan style of the times during the Ottoman occupation of Crete.)
You are always welcome back to us!
Great location about 15-20 min walk to the old town. Snorkelling beach 50m (lots of fish to see). We even got serenaded by the owner playing a variety of Cretan stringed instruments one evening!
This location is great and the house comfortable. We found it a little snug for two but functional with excellent access to walk right into Chania. Our host Panos really added to our trip making excellent suggestions on places to go to avoid the tourists and see some more authentic parts of Crete. We also appreciated his your generosity in sharing some music with us. It was lovely to be part of the local community.
Perfect location close to everything. Host very helpful and accommodating including beach, food ,and sightseeing recommendations.would stay here again in a minute loved the place.
This home was a perfect spot for my husband and I to relax. The natural sea pools were a highlight! We walked to the Venetian Port and strolled along for a food tour. Chania is a magical city and our hosts helped make it extra special!

It is always a pleasure to see the enthusiasm and satisfaction in the eyes and words of guests like Barbara and her husband. Great couple and always welcome back!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. The hosts live next door and are very pleasant and provided great dining and sightseeing suggestions. We even had the pleasure of a lyre performance from our rooftop deck. The location was perfect; close to shopping and seaside dining, yet far enough away from the busy city center, which was very congested. There is a small beach (pictured) just a few steps away and a larger, equally beautiful swimming area popular with locals just a few minutes walk away (also pictured).Would definitely stay here again!
We appreciated our helpful host and the lovely neighbourhood. We were assisted with restaurant suggestions and reservations. We enjoyed the the balcony with views of the sea, a great place to end a day exploring Chania.
Panagiotis was amazing. He welcomed us with a walk throughout the town then treated us to a coffee at a beautiful Oceanside cafe. The home was perfect. Just a short walk to great bars and restaurants. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!

Christine and her husband were great guests that made the most of their stay in our neighborhood. It was a real pleasure to host them. Very pleasant couple that will always be welcome here!
Incredible property in the Chalepa neighborhood in Chania. The photos say it all! Close to beaches and a nice walk to the classic city center. The hosts were amazing and went over and beyond to help my sister with an injury she had on our first day. Truly compassionate, kind, and intelligent people who have created a special place to share. Highly recommended!

What lovely and lively guests Amaya and her sister are! Really enjoyed sharing in their friendliness and enthusiasm during their visit. You are always welcome here, wonderful ladies!
The house has so much character and is so convenient, it had all we needed. There were 3 good restaurants in walking distance and an excellent bakery/coffee shop at the top of the street to the right of the house. Panos, our host was very helpful and entertaining, he played his lyre for us and we enjoyed our conversation! The sea was only steps away, we saw it from the deck. It was a short bus ride or you could walk into Old Town Chania. We highly recommend this rental home, it was hard to leave!
This property was so cozy and tucked into a beautiful corner of Chania away from the hustle of the city. Our host was amazing and took us on a quick walking tour of the neighborhood and gave us a history lesson on the properties which were all old tanneries. The fish tavern down the street provided an amazing dinner and sunset. Highly recommend and will definitely book this property again when we return for a longer visit. Too much to see on this beautiful island!
This property is a gem, tucked away in a nice neighborhood in the old tannery district, not too far from the center of Chania. The house was beautiful, very clean, and fully equipped. It is walking distance from a great seafood tavern, in which you could eat on the water and enjoy a sunset dinner. It is also a 5 minute walk to a beach. Panagiotis and his wife were amazing hosts and he even did us the honor of playing the Cretan lyra which was an extra treat.

What a pleasure it was to host this wonderful family!
They are always welcome here!
Stayed here with a friend, and we loved this place. It is on the water. We could walk to swimming areas or take a bus to a beach nearby. It is close, but not too close , to interesting cafes and restaurants. The host "Panos" greeted us, was available to answer questions, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! I highly recommend it.

Great ladies, great guests to host!
Marjorie and her friend were communicative and friendly guests who respected the premises and made the most of their stay.
They are always welcome back!
Rarely so we stay at hotels on our adventures. We find it so important to learn and appreciate the location and most importantly, the beautiful people. This location (and the hosts) did not disappoint. Although it is small, it has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay in Chania. We enjoyed coffee every morning from the roof top deck with a majestic view of the Mediterranean Sea and melodic clapping of the waves. The locals moving about heading to work or fishing was an added bonus. We did not rent a car and enjoyed our walks to and from Old Town. If ever in Chania again, we will stay here!
We had an amazing stay here! Our host was absolutely fantastic. He greeted us warmly at the door, gave us a full tour of the home, and was incredibly helpful throughout our visit. On our last night, he even sang and shared a beautiful poem he had written himself, which made the experience unforgettable. The property itself was spotless, private, and perfectly located just outside the busy city, close enough to walk in (about 20 minutes), yet peaceful and relaxing. It’s right beside the sea, with a spectacular spot where locals gather to watch and feel the waves crash. It was such a unique and fun experience! We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. The only small drawback was that the air conditioner on the second floor wasn’t working perfectly, but everything else was wonderful.
Aristokosmos was perfectly delightful, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful month there. The ocean is only a stone’s throw away and we went swimming there every morning. The quaint property — replete with two bathrooms with showers and a small kitchen —is shoulder to
shoulder with abandoned relics from the old tannery business, and their scattered hulks lent a fascinating character to this ancient area, which has all the earmarks of a quaint small village, replete with restaurants, coffee houses,
and several small shopping markets.
I would give Aristokosmos 5 stars, and the helpful owners are
now our friends.

Neil and Kay, you blended so well in the neighborhood that everybody misses you!
You were both loveable people and guests. You are always welcome!
We really enjoyed our stay at Aristokosmos. It is a comfortable cozy mini-house with a beautiful balcony in a non-touristy neighborhood that is a mixture of homes and old tanneries that are being redeveloped. You can swim in the ocean 50 feet away or walk a short distance to a natural swimming hole. The old Venetian harbor is a pleasant half hour walk through town along the coast. The new archeological museum 2 blocks away is a must see - manageably sized and will laid out with examples of finds recreated in the locations they were excavated. There are multiple good restaurants nearby and sunset at the Thalassino Ageri fish restaurant is not to be missed.
The host Panagiotis was super welcoming and helpful and gave us a mini-concert of on his lyre on the morning we left.
The unit, restored by the host several years ago, is charming and well-located, but would benefit from additional maintenance and a deeper cleaning.
**Highlights**
* Easy 15-minute walk to Chania Old Town.
* Fantastic patio and rooftop views.
* Steps from the sea, adding to the property's charm.
* Thoughtfully restored with décor that matches the character of the house.
* Friendly and welcoming host and his wife.
* Excellent bakery (Coucou Bakery) just a 4-minute walk away.
**Drawbacks**
During our 3-night stay, we encountered several maintenance issues that required multiple visits and could likely have been prevented with a pre-arrival inspection:
* Bathroom sink was completely clogged and kitchen sink drained slowly upon check-in.
* After the clog was repaired, the drain was reinstalled incorrectly, allowing sewer aroma into the unit until it was fixed the following evening.
* We were without hot water one evening because a shared electrical breaker had tripped and required the host's intervention.
The unit also showed signs of deferred maintenance, including mold in the shower grout and inside some light fixtures. Due to its proximity to the sea, humidity is very high, and a dehumidifier runs continuously on the ground floor, where the pull out couch is, which may bother light sleepers.
Overall, we enjoyed our time in Chania and appreciated the property's charm, but the maintenance issues detracted from what otherwise could have been a much more enjoyable stay.
I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was in Crete, particularly because of the lovely hospitality of Panayiotis and Apollonia. By the end of the stay, I felt like a member of the family. The space was perfect for me (and a friend who joined me halfway through the trip). It's an interesting part of town with a lot of new development of the old tannery spaces, so there was some construction. But it didn't take away from the beauty of the location. The swimming areas were so close, the tavern around the corner was superb, and the walk to Old Town (about 20 mins along the coastline) was always a lovely trek. I felt very safe as a solo traveler and was easily able to get to other areas of the island for excursions. I would stay here again in heartbeat, and I hope very much to return. If you do stay, make sure Panayiotis plays his lyres for you--such a special treat!

What a pleasure to have met and hosted Emily!
She had the whole package of a perfect guest. Communicative, friendly, clean. Highly recommended and always welcome here.
Sadly we could only stay 3 nights. This property is close enough to the places tourists want to be in Chania but blessedly far from the chaos. The 20-minute walk along the coast to the Vinetian Harbor may seem far, but after spending the afternoon there, you'll be glad for this escape. (Cab ride is 8). The neighborhood is mid-revitalzation with new and refurbished properties near some falling down. You are meters away from a shallow rocky beach and locals jump from lava rocks nearby for a deeper plunge. Further down the shore is a gorgeous local swimming hole protected by natural rock formations. 7 minute walk away from the new state of the art archeology museum. There was an excellent new seafood restaurant down the street. Our host anxiously shared information about the area with us upon arrival. Plus he generously played a few songs on his lyre as he talked about the importance of the instrument and Greek mythology. It was magical and special. The house is immaculately restored with nice details. It is comfortable, but it is small. 4 may feel crowded with luggage. 3 might be best. What a great find and perfect for what we wanted. Highly recommend

What great, friendly and life-loving guests Anne-Marie and her daughter were! Loved hosting them!
Vielen Dank 😊
