Great Location, Everything else left something to be desired
The location here was fantastic. Super close to the Hyde Park / North End neighborhood with lots of great restaurants and shops. Also a short walk or scooter ride to the downtown core.
What was disappointing was that the photos did not match the house. It is time for some new photos. There is a lot more clutter in the house now than in the photos I saw. They are simply no longer accurate. Additionally, when we arrived it was super cold. There is a mini split in the living room, which took quite some time to heat up and never heated up the bedrooms. Having a space heater in each bedroom is really necessary, but were not provided. Some of the lights flicker making it feel like something may be wrong electrically. The floor lamp in the living room did not function due to the prongs on the plug being broken off. The sink in the bathroom would not drain. There is no dishwasher, which is just a note, not a complaint. I just hadn't noticed it from the photos.
All of this I could live with except for it's not inexpensively priced either. I would expect a place with this much maintenance needs would be priced at about half what we paid.

Very dissatisfied
When my husband and I arrived to the property, we found the duplex to be very dirty. There was toilet paper and a dirty cleaning rag just outside of the door. The inside of the door handle was taped together. All four walls of the entrance room had dirty marks all over them. The kitchen cabinets, kitchen drawers, walls, fridge, and oven had dried food splatter on them. The dish strainer had black who knows what all in the bottom of it. There was garbage left in the garbage can. There were food crumbs on the kitchen floor that the ants were happily grazing on. The sink in the bathroom still does not drain properly as another reviewer commented on months ago. I contacted the owner asap who stated she was sending housekeeping over right away. We waited for nearly an hour, sitting outside, and nobody showed. The more we sat there the more we thought if their housekeeper was ok leaving the place in this kind of condition, what else did they cut corners on? Were the sheets changed? Are the towels changed? We didn't feel comfortable preparing food in the kitchen. After driving nearly 1,973 miles to get here and not at all feeling comfortable or safe (due to the taped together door handle) we decided not to stay. While the owner did try to get housekeeping to come back, and offered to have somebody come spray for ants, we had already seen too much. I kindly asked for a refund so we could find somewhere else to stay. The owner only offered a partial refund so I still have $550 out on a property we were on for all of a half hour. I contacted VRBO to submit a case regarding my safety concerns, however, I still have not heard back from them either. It was obvious there is no pride in ownership of this property as many things do not appear to be kept up on (door knob not getting replaced, sink still not draining, tree not trimmed so you can't use the drive from the front of the house). I will be very hesitant to book through VRBO again in the future and definitely would not recommend this property.
Good location in Downtown Boise close to shops and cafes...this duplex property does need a little TLC (sink very slow to drain) and found it strange that an older broken down RV was connected to power through a extension cord from the house outlet to the vehicle
Great neighborhood, close to the Boise Co-op. Certainly okay to stay in for a few days, but the stove was dirty when we arrived. The place is a bit worn out.
Great location near Hyde Park Historical Neighborhood!
Very clean & simple furnishings but had all the basics. The location is ideal in a beautiful neighborhood & walking distance to cute shops and great restaurants. Owner was very responsive to our needs. The bed in one of the bedrooms was not comfortable but that was the only little thing!
We used the home for friends that were visiting. Everything that we needed...extra linens, dishes, utensils and cooking pans. Communication with the host was excellent.
