I rented this house for a family wedding a couple miles away, so it was very convenient! I had a family issue that came up and the host was so accommodating and understanding! She was very kind and responded quickly to messages! Would definitely rent this place again!!
The home was easy to find, there was a small problem with unlocking the door but the host was very helpful. We weren’t aware that we’d be sharing a wall with the host (duplex style) but we honestly never heard the host!
My husband came down with my adult son and his girlfriend for a quick weekend getaway to enjoy some sights in Mystic as well as an eveyshow at Mohegan Sun. This was the perfect distance in between both. It was a charming duplex with all the amenities and space we needed and the beds were especially comfortable. On the plus side if you’re a dog lover the owners 2 dogs are extremely friendly! Would highly recommend for any looking for a stay in the area.

Just ok
Overall it was a decent VRBO. Beds were very comfortable but bedrooms did not have tvs and were smaller than pictured (had attic ceilings). Plenty of eating space and stocked well but seating in the living room was not comfortable for family of 4. Also did not realize that it was a 2 family and host was on the other side.
The house was cute and comfortable for our stay. The beds were comfortable , Linda is in property , friendly. And helpful. The house looks just like the pictures. Linda has 2 super cute and friendly dogs. The location is right off the freeway with easy access to the surrounding area.
This property is perfect for a family stay and close to the casino which we went to. Everything was clean and described wonderfully. Off street parking which was nice as well. Host was very communicative and responded quickly.
We enjoyed our stay! The place was right off the highway and convenient to stores and casinos!!
Very steep stairs access the bedrooms, and the ceilings on the upper level are slanted.
The property is in good condition. Parking is an issue, but we were told about this in advance.
We asked the host for any spare holiday decorations, and she provided a nice little tree and ornaments.
We did have an issue, the stairs in this house are extremely steep. We inquired about the steps since my elderly mom was traveling with us. The host stated that there are only 12 steps. I feel the host should have said that these stairs are very steep and not good for an elderly person. There was no sleeping accommodation on the main floor which might have alleviated this issue.
Also all of the bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs had slanted ceilings that resulted in a few bumped heads.
We had to book a hotel room for sleeping and showering. I contacted the host immediately and as expected was denied any type of refund.
We continued to use the house in the daytime for visiting with family, etc. A large pot would have been nice to have. I bought one and gave it to my daughter who lives in CT
This trip cost us an additional $700 since we had to reserve a hotel room and still pay for the VRBO.
We did try to get a partial refund from VRBO after we got home but were told it was too late. They communicated with the host and we did receive a tiny refund of $62.
Overall, this house is acceptable, if you know about the stairs and slanted ceilings in advance and are ok with them.
We were in town for a convention at the casino. It was close by, and even though we had to stay super late at the casino for the convention, check in was super easy. The place was cute and convenient. Her dogs are adorable and the rumba definitely accidentally scared us in the middle of us watching a horror movie 😂
Great communication, good location across from a pizza restaurant, check in was easy, 13 min to the casino if you like that, bedrooms & bathrooms upstairs have slanted ceilings.
The puppies are also adorable. :) This was easy to find and accessible to where we needed to be. There is parking, but I will say it's sometimes challenging to get back out of the parking area. Nonetheless, I would happily stay here again, and the host was very kind.
Linda was great to work with and very quick to answer any questions we had. The house is cute, and she did a great job renovating, but has low ceilings over the beds due to the age of the home. It's really not an issue as long as you pay attention. It is on a fairly busy road, but we didn't really notice the noise inside the home. She provides all you could need (bedding, dishes, utensils, towels, etc.) and is not far from shopping, so it's easy to cook your meals at the house. The house is only 3 hours from the furthest tip of Cape Cod, where you can go whale watching, and it's a fairly pleasant drive. Boston is less than 2 hours away, or you can stay local and still have lots to do. We enjoyed our stay!
My daughter and I had an exceptional stay in this beautiful historic home. There’s a back door near the parking area that is right by the stairs, which makes bringing luggage up to the bedrooms quick. We had a late flight and got settled quickly. The beds were all very comfortable, and there was plenty of extra bedding. The street is busy during the day, but even as individuals who have chronic migraines, we didn’t have problems with the road noise. It was nice and quiet at night, and there was zero noise between the duplexes. Linda is having new windows put in soon and the noise will be even less than our experience. The ceilings are low in parts of the bedrooms, but that is expected in a historic home, and the layout of the rooms makes it so that there are ways to get in and out of bed without much or any trouble. The kitchen was clean and spacious, and the dishes and pots/pans weren’t too heavy for us to use. The living room furniture was comfortable and there was nearby restaurant menus and activity guides for Norwich available. The living room lamps on the table behind the couch had USB ports, which was so convenient! Linda was available to answer questions, and she was so kind and friendly. This stay made us fall in love with Norwich, and it truly felt like we were at home. This was one of the best stays we have ever had, and we cannot recommend this wonderful home enough!
Clean, nice appliances and kitchen utensils. Good food at restaurant across the street. Easy access to highway.

About the host
Hosted by Linda Theodoru
Retired great grandmother. You will see me outside working in my flower and vegetable gardens, or riding off on my bicycle. I love meeting people from all over the country and the world. I have traveled throughout Europe myself using short-term rentals, so I know what the guests will find helpful.
Why they chose this property
This house is 160 years old and was built to house workers from a mill that used to be across the street. The mill burned down and in its place is now a beautiful riverfront park with a playground, a basketball court, a soccer field and walking paths. https://www.walknorwich.org/ https://iconicnorwich.org/
What makes this property unique
It is centrally located between Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Only 1/2 mile from an entrance to 395, either casino and beaches can be reached within minutes.
