About this property
Lakeside cottage overhanging the water, beautiful window views across the lake
Come visit our cute cottage literally overhanging the lake!
Our recent remodeling gives the cottage a clean, bright and sunny feel while keeping the character of this 1933 summer home. In the living room the big glass doors and windows look out at the beautiful fall colors on the lake. The decks are ideal for an outside meal, barbecuing, yoga, reading, family time, or just enjoying the serenity of nature and the lake. The cottage overhangs the edge of the lake with an expansive 20'x24' water level deck that you can swim or kayak from, and a large second story deck which makes you feel like royalty as you view nature and the lake from above. Both decks are ideal for an outside meal, barbecuing, yoga, reading, family time, or just enjoying the serenity of nature and the lake.
The cozy cottage sleeps up to six people (4 adults, 2 kids allowed by the town), making it perfect for a vacationing couple (or two) or a family. It has a medium size bedroom with a queen size bed, and a small bedroom with a full size bed. There is also a queen bed downstairs in the family room. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a living room with large french doors that open onto the upper deck with magnificent views of the lake. On the lower level is the living/recreation room (including laundry machines) which opens onto the water level deck. There are always areas on the deck to be in the shade if needed. There are two small parking spaces that will fit a maximum of two cars.
Kayaks and a canoe are provided for your use at no additional charge. There is also a Huck Finn style raft to sit on or swim from during the summer, or to untie and float around on. We have internet, a smart TV with Netflix provided, and indoor games. If you choose, we have a hot tub on the lower deck with beautiful lake views. The maintenance fee is an additional $40 for 1-3 nights, $75 for 4+ nights. Also, a paddle board rental may be available, if requested.
The cottage is removed from noise and bustle, and the quiet and beautiful lake makes it a really fun place to enjoy being part of nature. It is still just a 10 minute drive from Mystic-- a favorite tourist town, 5 area wineries, the Connecticut Shoreline, and 5 minutes from Foxwoods casino.
There are endless recommendations for all sorts of places less than 20 minutes away. Here are a few suggestions:
Local “New England Feeling” Attractions:
-Holmberg’s Orchard in Gales Ferry is a beautiful place to go pick your own fruit of the season, whether that’s blueberries, peaches, raspberries, apples, or even nectarines this year. Tractor rides will bring your family to the perfect picking location. In the fall, there are fields of pumpkins, as well as squash, gourds, Indian corn, hay bales, and mums. There are also events, such as Farmer’s Markets. - Mystic Aquarium is great for families! -The Mystic Seaport Museum, a Historic Whaling Village from the 1800’s, has many attractions indoors and outdoors, with incredible sights and tours of historic ships. - The Pequot Indian Museum is very interesting and Smithsonian-quality. Interactive for children and quite educational. Open Wed- Sat 9am-5pm, a 6 minute drive from the cottage. -Old Mystic Village and its many shops are great for both adults and children -Clydes Cider Mill is a hot spot in the fall! Sample or purchase cider (and hard cider), and homemade goods (the donuts are highly recommended). -Buttonwood Farms in Griswold is famous for its delicious farm fresh ice cream and over 14 acres of sunflowers that will peak during the end of July. From mid-September through October the farm has a corn maze and several fun family activities
FRESH SEAFOOD AND RESTAURANTS: -If you would like to indulge in New England’s fresh seafood, be sure to visit the restaurants and markets in Pawcatuck, Mystic, Stonington CT and Westerly, RI. Karma Kitchen is a healthy cafe with smoothies, nutritious juices, acai bowls, & more. Drawbridge Ice Cream is very popular on the bridge.

This cottage is so beautiful. The location is gorgeous. The hosts were very communicative and we had everything we needed and more to have a relaxing and cozy fall retreat. Would love to visit again!
My kids loved having the basement space to themselves for movies and games, and the lake view from both floors was lovely. We enjoyed a morning hot tub soak over the water. Helpful and communicative hosts. Would stay again!
This lakeside cottage did not disappoint! It was just as advertised: we enjoyed a fire pit on the top deck and the hot tub on the bottom deck. The views were beautiful! And it was perfectly located to Foxwoods, Mystic, Stonington, Groton, etc. We'll definitely be back!
This is by far one of the most enjoyable and relaxing places we have ever stayed at. the host was very nice and the place was labeled throughout to help with the little things. the views of the water was great. We also liked how quiet it was and the local places nearby. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back. 10/10 recommend!
Very nice property. Beautiful view of the lake. Clean Kitchen stocked. Towels and linens provided. The bridge was out which made the travel time longer each time we left the house. Very close to mystic seaport.

Was a perfect little retreat for the night. The hot tub on the lake was amazing we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Huge full moon and clear skies. Only downfall was we just stayed one night!
But the cottage is very cozy. They have some board games downstairs and the tv has Hulu Netflix setup in it so don’t have to log into your own! Has a full kitchen to cook whatever. The local grocery store Ledyard Village market is very close fully stocked and has amazing hot to go food.
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend at Foxwoods. What a great location super close to Foxwoods yet secluded in private on a beautiful lake can’t beat it will definitely be back.
Beautiful location that met every expectation. The management team was very responsive and through dutiful communication we were able to check in early. Our stay was short (1 night), but was exactly what we needed and wanted. Bobby (owner) was there to greet us on arrival and was extremely hospitable. We will recommend this to others and hopeful to return in the future
Our stay was great! Bobby was there when we arrived to show us around. The cottage was comfy and cozy. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the water on either of the 2 decks or from the hot tub. The beds were comfortable
Great, cozy place to have a friends getaway! Quiet neighborhood with beautiful views and short distance from the charming town of Mystic!

About the host
Hosted by Bobby
Hi, this is Bobby and our family hosting team. We love taking care of our two cottages and doing our best to ensure that you have a wonderful time here at the lake. Bobby grew up spending much time enjoying the cottage and the lake with his family. His grandparents lived on this lake, 60 years ago, and now- four generations later- Long Pond is an ever more special place for us, and we very much enjoy our family's vacation there each year. Now, we love to share our two special cottages with others, and it means a lot to us to hear from guests about their good times here with family, friends, and loved ones. We have been renting our 2 cottages to guests for four generations, and everyone loves it here!
What makes this property unique
This property is perfect for those who want to take in a beautiful lake view. Located right at the edge of Long Pond, this cottage has an upper and lower deck overhanging the water- perfect for meals, relaxing, socializing, or a romantic evening under the stars. The upper deck is accessed from large glass french doors from the living room. The lower deck is accessed from the family room and has direct access to the water, great for swimming and boating. The fishing is great, too.
