About this property
Lakeside cottage overhanging the water, beautiful window views across the lake
Come visit our cute cottage literally overhanging the lake!
Our recent remodeling gives the cottage a clean, bright and sunny feel while keeping the character of this 1933 summer home. In the living room the big glass doors and windows look out at the beautiful fall colors on the lake. The decks are ideal for an outside meal, barbecuing, yoga, reading, family time, or just enjoying the serenity of nature and the lake. The cottage overhangs the edge of the lake with an expansive 20'x24' water level deck that you can swim or kayak from, and a large second story deck which makes you feel like royalty as you view nature and the lake from above. Both decks are ideal for an outside meal, barbecuing, yoga, reading, family time, or just enjoying the serenity of nature and the lake.
The cozy cottage sleeps up to six people (4 adults, 2 kids allowed by the town), making it perfect for a vacationing couple (or two) or a family. It has a medium size bedroom with a queen size bed, and a small bedroom with a full size bed. There is also a queen bed downstairs in the family room. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a living room with large french doors that open onto the upper deck with magnificent views of the lake. On the lower level is the living/recreation room (including laundry machines) which opens onto the water level deck. There are always areas on the deck to be in the shade if needed. There are two small parking spaces that will fit a maximum of two cars.
Kayaks and a canoe are provided for your use at no additional charge. There is also a Huck Finn style raft to sit on or swim from during the summer, or to untie and float around on. We have internet, a smart TV with Netflix provided, and indoor games. If you choose, we have a hot tub on the lower deck with beautiful lake views. The maintenance fee is an additional $40 for 1-3 nights, $75 for 4+ nights. Also, a paddle board rental may be available, if requested.
The cottage is removed from noise and bustle, and the quiet and beautiful lake makes it a really fun place to enjoy being part of nature. It is still just a 10 minute drive from Mystic-- a favorite tourist town, 5 area wineries, the Connecticut Shoreline, and 5 minutes from Foxwoods casino.
There are endless recommendations for all sorts of places less than 20 minutes away. Here are a few suggestions:

About the host
Hosted by Bobby
Hi, this is Bobby and our family hosting team. We love taking care of our two cottages and doing our best to ensure that you have a wonderful time here at the lake. Bobby grew up spending much time enjoying the cottage and the lake with his family. His grandparents lived on this lake, 60 years ago, and now- four generations later- Long Pond is an ever more special place for us, and we very much enjoy our family's vacation there each year. Now, we love to share our two special cottages with others, and it means a lot to us to hear from guests about their good times here with family, friends, and loved ones.
We have been renting our 2 cottages to guests for four generations, and everyone loves it here!

What makes this property unique
This property is perfect for those who want to take in a beautiful lake view. Located right at the edge of Long Pond, this cottage has an upper and lower deck overhanging the water- perfect for meals, relaxing, socializing, or a romantic evening under the stars. The upper deck is accessed from large glass french doors from the living room. The lower deck is accessed from the family room and has direct access to the water, great for swimming and boating. The fishing is great, too.
