About this property
La Renaissance Moderne
🥨 Nestled in the heart of one of France's favourite villages, Kaysersberg, the La Renaissance Moderne apartment is located just 14 km from Colmar. A gem filled with history, perfect for discovery in both winter and summer. You will stay in a place combining romantic tranquillity and Alsace culture. This picturesque village, surrounded by the hills of the Alsace wine region 🍇 and dominated by castles 🏰.
🏡 The La Renaissance Moderne apartment is located on the 2nd floor of an Alsace house with stairs.
The 83m² apartment is laid out as follows: 🛋️ A spacious open-plan living area with a lounge/TV corner, 🍽️ a dining area to enjoy a good meal, and a modern fully equipped kitchen (dishes and cutlery, cooking hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine). 🛏️ 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed, TV, and a wardrobe. 🚿 🚽 A bathroom with a shower, double sink, and toilet.
🏡 The entire apartment will be for your use. Always aiming to ensure your satisfaction during your stay: 🧹 Cleaning will be provided. 🛏️ Beds will be made with fresh sheets. 🧼 Fresh towels will be available, along with a bath mat for each bathroom and a dish towel in the kitchen. 📶 Free Wi-Fi connection.
🅿️ Kaysersberg offers numerous paid parking spaces (Monday to Sunday, from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm) on the outskirts of the town centre. ⛔ The town centre has a 2-hour parking limit and may be fully pedestrianised during certain times of the year (Christmas markets, high season...).
⚠️ Would you like parking vouchers (5€ per 24-hour period per vehicle for parking in a town perimeter parking area)? Reservations and payment must be made with our team at least 48 hours before arrival. (After this period, we will no longer be able to guarantee the sale of these vouchers). This voucher does not guarantee the availability of a parking space.
The Neighbourhood: Kaysersberg, with its many timber-framed houses, its beautiful historic centre, and its imperial castle (Kaysersberg means "Emperor's mountain") in ruins, overlooking the town, has an incredible charm. It is, therefore, an essential stop in Alsace. The town is also very famous for its Christmas market.
Due to its strategic position, which allows control of the transit between Upper Alsace and Lorraine (via the Col du Bonhomme), the Kaysersberg valley has been occupied by military forces since Roman times. In the early 13th century (around 1218), the fortress was built. This marked the beginning of the prosperous period of the town, under the control of the Hohenstaufen family. Kaysersberg became an imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire in 1293. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the town flourished thanks to the granting of several privileges, such as the right to hold a weekly market and an annual fair. The town was part of the Decapole (a mutual alliance of 10 towns in Alsace). Its wine production was highly successful and was exported to the Empire. The 17th century was difficult due to the Thirty Years' War, which left the region devastated by the passage of various armies, but the town regained prosperity in the second half of the century. In the 19th century, a large number of textile industries settled in the region, and in the 20th century, the town was partially destroyed by World War II.
