Get place to relax.
Came up to do a little Turkey hunt scouting and we were looking for a nice quiet cottage to stay in. This one was perfect! Very large Master bed room, bed was firm and comfortable. Bring your slippers during cold months, floor, as it should be, was cool with just wall heater. Small kitchen area had just enough pots and pans for quick meals. No dishwasher. Other wise would recommend!

Great stay!
The cabin is very clean and well decorated. Jon and Shellie are very friendly and a great host. They were always asking if we needed anything when we spoke to them. We were very happy with the stay and looking forward to staying there again.

Labor Day Weekend Stay
The cabin was as described in the listing. It was impeccably clean and quite modern. There was plenty of shade and it was very quiet. The kitchen had ample supply of dishes and utensils. The internet WiFi was sufficient and I received good cell connectivity (At+t). There was a cleared path in the woods to walk. They have a chicken coop from which you can gather fresh eggs in the morning to cook. You can also feed the chickens. There is a garden out front and rabbits. They also have a small pond with fish and frogs. All in all, it was a nice quiet up north get away. The host was very responsive to my questions as well.

Holiday Getaway
We spent our July 4th Holiday in Fairview Michigan and stayed at Trails End. Fairview is home to a great river called the Ausable, we spent the 4th floating down it. Trails End was very quiet and well appointed with everything needed for a great time. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and Jon and Shellie were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. This is a must stay if you are in the area. Thank you for your hospitality! Mark and Stacey

Comfortable Hunting Quarters.
Our stay at Trails End had all the comforts of home. Shellie and Jon were the most gracious hosts. There were more pleasant surprise that you wouldn't find at home, like fresh eggs in the morning. WOW!

Hello! I’m Shellie and my husband’s name is Jon. We are avid 'outdoorsy' people that enjoy the "simple" life. We like to hunt & fish, hike & bike, kayak & camp. We bought our property in 2001 and poured our hearts into it making it a productive homestead where we raise & grow much of our own food in a place full of peace & tranquility. Jon is a retired teacher and Shellie is a retiring dog groomer. We enjoy volunteering in various places throughout our community and we both work part-time at our church. We love our little place in northern Michigan and are happy to share it. It is our hope that time spent here will make memories and also be a blessing to others.

Why they chose this property

The Guesthouse is a perfect get-away to stay in and rest or browse the community & Amish shops. Adventurers love to hike the Wolf Creek Trails and kayak the AuSable River.

What makes this property unique

Trail's End Guesthouse gives you the feeling of being in the middle of "nowhere" among trees, wildlife, birds, garden, and the quiet, yet it's only 2.5 miles from our charming little town of Fairview and a short drive to recreational destinations!
