About this property
Lovely, luxuriously decorated house, intimate garden in a historic village
Come and enjoy a timeless holiday!
Immerse yourself in history by staying in this charming old stone house, completely renovated and tastefully decorated.
Your immersion begins at the front door: luxurious furniture, objects, carpets, old paintings, old-fashioned patinas, cob and ‘Liorac’ sand walls... nothing has been left to chance and everything has been tastefully selected by the owners to ensure that you enjoy a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
A large, beautiful private terraced garden completes the setting. It features topiaries, flowerbeds, trees and plenty of space to relax with tables, chairs, parasols and deckchairs... Everything for your comfort and beauty.
**** On the ground floor, a large living room (with TV hidden in a cabinet), and a fully equipped kitchen with ‘Bosch’ appliances (hob, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, coffee machine, toaster, microwave).
Direct access to several terraces and large private garden.
**** On the first floor, there is a landing, a curiosity cabinet and a reading corner, as well as two large bedrooms (approx. 20 m2 each), both with en-suite shower rooms and separate toilets. One of the bedrooms opens onto a small terrace equipped for breakfast in the garden.
The base rate for 2 people is for one of the two bedrooms. A small supplement applies for the use of the second bedroom and the second adjoining bathroom.
**** The house is ideally located in the center of Cadouin, which constitutes the finest example of religious architecture in Périgord but also the starting point for numerous walks in the Bessède forest.
From the house, you can walk to the pretty, lively village and visit the magnificent Cistercian abbey, founded in 1115 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, its cloister described as a small marvel of Gothic architecture...
Numerous festivities are organised, including the famous gourmet markets in the medieval market hall, and concerts in the abbey.
In the village, there are many restaurants, pubs, boutiques and art galleries.
Cadouin is also situated on the route of the abbeys that dot the department, Paunat or St Avit Sénieur, the route of St Jacques de Compostelle.
A stone's throw away, Trémolat and Limeuil, some of the most beautiful villages in France, and Maxange, one of the most beautiful caves in the world with its unique eccentric concretions.
Nearby, the major sites of the Dordogne-Périgord region: châteaux in the Dordogne valley (Castelnaud, Beynac, Les Milandes - Josephine Baker's stronghold - Marqueyssac and its listed boxwood gardens, etc.) as well as the châteaux of Biron, Bridoire and Tiregand, beautiful medieval villages such as Sarlat or the bastides of Beaumont du Périgord, Monpazier, Lalinde, etc. Caves, ornate sites and prehistoric museums.
**** Unfortunately, we are unable to welcome children between 1 and 13 years old, because the garden is made up of several terraces and falls could occur.
