The stay that wasn’t
The property manager allowed the property to be double booked and took no steps to contact us before we arrived. We had had the booking for almost two years, ample time to let us know if a situation, but we thought we were good to go when we got arrival instructions the standard three days before check-in. Will never stay with this property management group ever again - think twice before booking this property.

Regretful choice
Overall, this property was not good for bringing our grandchildren to. Outdoors was not kept up well or inviting. There is no yard, just overgrown weeds on the terraced slopes. It is on a steep incline, very rocky and old rusty metal junk laying around. Some of the patio furniture was worn and broken, ie a rocking chair, table umbrellas and the grill. The host did tell me the lake was down and the piers were not over the water and it was rocky, but it was worse than I thought. The kayaks they gave us permission to use were functional, but the seats were worn and broken, needing to be replaced. The inside was clean enough; although there were sheets left in the dryer and dishes put into cabinets wet upon our arrival. I should have looked more closely at the description of the house. There was just one bathroom which was a bit challenging given we were 7 people. Also there is no indoor dining table where we could all sit together for meals. I recommend giving this place some good TLC, replacing broken and worn things and taking better care of it.

I would highly recommend this venue for a family getaway or vacation! The owner, Mrs. Crawford was a joy to work with and her place had an incredible view of majestic Lake Buchanan in Burnet, Texas. My kids and I really enjoyed ourselves and hope to return this summer!

The house was exceptional and a great place to escape from the busyness of Austin.

About the host

Hi! The hosts are Bobby and Carolyn Crawford. We live in central Texas but love to travel. Lake Buchanan is a favorite vacation spot as a child and we are thankful to share our personal vacation home with you while we are away. We have four busy children so in the time of our lives we seem to have very little time to enjoy the home ourselves these days.

Why they chose this property

This property is secluded and quiet. You will enjoy quiet sunrise and breathtaking sunsets from the multiple decks. The home is set up so that you should be able to bring your family or friends and enjoy what Lake Buchanan has to offer such as fishing, kayaking, water sports, bird watching or just a restful place.
