August getaway

My family enjoyed our stay! Cottage was nice, liked the convenience of renting your pontoon and the ability to bring our dog. Fishing was excellent right off the docks! The whole process was very straightforward and seamless. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent again!

We had a wonderful time. The house was just the right size for us and it felt like home. Fished off the pier and really enjoyed the fire pit. It was a great 10th year anniversary with our best friends .

We really enjoy this cottage. We rent both the copper roof cottage and this cottage together, for a nice family vacation. It is very well supplied and clean. This is our 5th year renting, and hope to come back again next year. Thanks Steve!!

Perfect Getaway

We booked at the last minute and Steve was so helpful to make it all work. For us, this was the perfect getaway during this COVID time, beautiful weather, peaceful water, and great cabin. We would have liked a few more days but are thankful for the time we had surrounded by such beauty. BTW, our 12 year od golden retriever loved it as well.

Great weekend getaway

The place worked out perfectly for a lifelong friend and I to catch up on some much deserved fishing. Steps away from the dock. We took our own boat and there was plenty of parking and dock space. Unfortunately the fish are still in the lake and not in our freezers.

Beautiful lake view close to restaurants and outdoor activities.

We had a wonderful time. Lots of restaurants and activities to do in the area including hiking and horseback riding. We loved the big picture window facing the lake. One evening, we grilled burgers and hotdogs and enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio. Afterwards, we sat on the swing close to the shore and watched all the different boats go by pulling skiers and intertubes. We give this experience a thumbs-up!

Short getaway for relaxing

Weather was typical unpredictable Indiana weather- cold and rainy but still got to fish. Small heater came in handy. Loved the big bay windows out to lake. Bathroom/shower is small but had good shelf space for toiletrie items.

The property is very well-maintained and sits on a beautiful location.

Our family stayed here for Labor Day weekend and it was an excellent stay. The property is clean and a description is very accurate. We enjoyed the close proximity to the water, the beautiful sunsets, and the responsiveness of Steve and Amy! The accommodations were perfect for our kids -they loved the bunkbed room. It was great to be able to fish right from the dock and to have easy access to the lake for boating! Before we left we all decided this might become a yearly tradition. Thanks for a great experience!

Nice Spot

Cottage is cozy and pretty. Great spot on the lake, lots of entertainment watching people play on the water. Queen bed is firm, was told the bunk beds were comfortable. Shower is tiny but workable, water pressure is great. The cleaning expected is a little excessive but you will notice a lower cleaning fee and they supply all the products and tools. Overall it was a nice stay.

Be prepared

Bring towels (bath and hand/dish towels), dish soap, maybe paper towels, and an extra roll of toilet paper. Also, if the batteries or propane runs out, you have to replace it yourself. It keeps the cost down so I'm not complaining, but it was different from the other 3 rentals we had this summer.

It is good to hear you had a good time. We strive to make every guest experience as nice as possible. Our website and welcome packed do cover the what to bring and what is supplied, and helpful tips, so guests have their questions answered ahead of time and understand what to expect. The welcome package that we send out with the self check in lock combination and other information provided explain to bring your own wash cloths, swim towels and bath towels as these tend to get mixed up with renters items and they disappear. We do provide linens. We do provide paper towels toilet paper however, the welcome package explains to bring your own also as most have a personal preference. Also explained in the welcome package, we do not exchange the propane tanks as those get used up quickly on the new $500 grille. Everyone loves to grill at the lake. Maybe we can put in a direct gas line in the future. It was nice you used the paddleboat, row boat, canoe and enjoyed the swim area. Thanks and we look foward to your next stay.

Crooked Lake Connection

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic rental on Crooked Lake in Angola, Indiana, and I can't rave enough about the experience! The tranquility and peacefulness of the lake were absolutely mesmerizing. From the front lanai, I enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife, including birds, deer, and even the occasional fox. It was a nature lover's paradise. The quaint cottage itself was well taken care of and impeccably clean. It provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Whether you're looking to establish fond family memories or recollect memories from your youth or past, this cottage is the perfect place to do so. The serene surroundings and charming ambiance make it an ideal getaway for anyone seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.I highly recommend this VRBO rental for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the beauty of Crooked Lake. It's a hidden gem that offers a truly unforgettable experience.

Quintessential Cabin on the Lake

Great, cozy cabin right on the water. beautiful view, everything you need. Fire pit, boat dock & grill. The fishing was good right on the third basin and a little more protected from the wind than other areas on the lake. Overall, it was so nice we almost called in to work and stayed one more day. Owner very responsive and helpful. Reasonable and accommodating. He really worked to make our stay wonderful. My only criticism would be the shower really is as small as others said, but the water pressure was good and the hot water works quite well. The cabin is very typical and quaint and the furniture fits the feel. You don't spend much time inside with such a lovely location, but the couch could be a little more comfortable. I chose the love seat facing the water view for my morning coffee and it was just perfect. Wish I could upload a few pics of the catch but I don't see an option to share photos.

These are two wonderful guests and I enjoyed their stay as well. They made good use of the pontoon boat. A new and very comfortable ikea couch is being delivered. I just may post their fishing pictures as our guests were kind enough to share them. In a few hours a couple of nice bass and some pan fish.

Nice little cottage

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It had everything that we could need. Very relaxing for us. Steve was readily available. I called him once and he answered right away. He also responded to a couple texts right away. There were 2 things that were a little disappointing but by no means a deal breaker. 1. Cell signal is not good there but with the WiFi we were able to stay connected and we just switched our phones to WiFi calling. 2. The photos show railings on the steps going down to the lake but they are no longer there. This made it difficult for me to get down and up the steps. But it was truly an awesome vacation for us. I would love to do it again someday!

It was good to talk with our guest Gwen to hear how they loved the canoe, row boat, and paddle boat. My father is working on ordering the rails which need to be custom made to match the insurance from being broken. More to come. Calls thru the Wifi is the way we communicate with cell phones. There is not a hard wire, sorry. Gwen and here family were very nice and respect-full. We would love to have them stay again. Thanks Steve

Pros:*Owner was very prompt in answering all questions. *house was nicely decorated.*nice grill/smoker*nice to have access to a paddle boat*had a great amount of life vests avaiable for use*good amount of dishes and silverware for a family of 6*beautiful view inside of the lake*lots of seating inside and out Cons:*Lake atea not taken care of. Not raked or cleaned up for swimming on a "sandy area". --should have looked at the dates of the pictures.*The boat that you can rent was not taken care of. It was covered in mildew. I realize that being on the water and exposed to outdoor elements that will happen, but to rent it to anyone in that condition shouldn't be alowed. It was very pricey.*no laundry available in house. I know it tells you that, but personal lesson learned that is not family friendly. All around bummed by the experience. Will not stay again.
