About this property

Historic Gem / Steps to Main St. & Mississippi River / 3-Season Room

Experience a 125-year-old historic home with modern comfort. Just steps from downtown Savanna’s Main Street and the Mississippi River, you’re within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, and the riverfront—and a 6-minute drive to the state park. Fully private 2BR/1BA main-floor unit with king and queen beds (plus rollaway twin upon request), full kitchen, WiFi, central air, washer/dryer, 3-season room, and easy street parking.

THE SPACE:

The unit features two large bedrooms with room-darkening shades—one with a king bed and the other with a queen. A twin rollaway is available upon request for a $20 fee, passed entirely to our cleaner. The bathroom features a single shower (no tub). A washer and dryer are also available in the unit.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, stove/oven, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, cookware, and countertop seating for casual meals. The dining area includes a dining table and bar cabinet.

The living room offers comfortable seating and a Smart TV. A classic galley-style 3-season room is attached to the unit and provides a bright additional space to relax (please note, it is accessed by exiting the front door). A built-in workstation is located in the main hallway.

The home offers easy street parking and is well maintained with a strong focus on cleanliness. While there are two upstairs units in the building, this space is completely private with its own entrance and no shared interior spaces.

GUEST ACCESS:

Street parking is easy and typically available directly in front of the house.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire main unit and the three-season room.

Check-in is at 1 p.m. and checkout is at noon. We’re happy to accommodate early arrivals or late departures when our schedule allows.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:

This is a self check-in and check-out property with a unique, electronic door code provided before arrival. We are available by phone or messaging throughout your stay and are happy to help with anything you need.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

Savanna is located in rural Illinois along the Mississippi River. With the natural setting comes local wildlife, including insects, deer, snakes, stray cats, and other small animals typical of the area.

While the unit can accommodate up to five guests, it is best suited for four or fewer. The unit includes one king bed and one queen bed. A twin rollaway is available upon request for a $20 fee, passed directly to our cleaner. When used, it is typically set up in the second bedroom with the queen bed, which will make the room feel tighter.

We can help coordinate local partners for optional add-ons such as flower arrangements or baby essentials (cribs, strollers, toys, etc.) delivered prior to arrival.

This home is well suited for longer stays, with discounted rates automatically applied for extended bookings.

A comprehensive area guide is provided with recommendations for restaurants, shops, and things to do during your stay.

Great location in downtown Savanna close to restaurants, bars or shopping. Perfect for those looking to get away to the beautiful western side of Illinois and super close to Mississippi Palisades Stare Park. Also close to the cute and historic Mount Carroll and Galena. Space is roomy, comfortable and clean.

Cute property close to downtown and state park

Great property, walking distance to downtown and just a few min drive to the state park. Parking was easy on the street in front of the home. Very close to the grocery store in toe . Hosts were great and very helpful. They sent a wonderful welcome sheet with house info and things to do in the area. About 40min drive to Galena. We were only there for two days and hope to go back and spend more time. We plan to stay at the same property when we return.

Very comfortable and quiet

Stayed here over a busy Memorial day weekend. The home has a full kitchen for cooking meals or just a couple minute walk to Manny's Pizza or Sunshine Restaurant for delicious food at a very low cost. The service is fast and friendly. If you're into the motorcycle lifestyle there is the Iron Horse Social Club a minute walk away or Poopy's Pub a 5 minute drive. The house has a small living room were we enjoyed having a family get together. There is a large washer and dryer that is very convenient. There's are tons of recreational opportunities in the area like fishing, boating and hiking just to name a few. The host provided an informative brochure, excellent communication and check in was simple and easy. The only negative one could have is an occasional train horn that was not loud, but could be heard in the night. It did not bother me, but the host does provide ear plugs. I would stay here again.

Short stay in sweet Savanna apartment

This property is everything advertised. It is a short walk to all things downtown Savanna and the river and trails. We had a problem with the door code and it was corrected in virtual minutes with a text to the owner.
