Upscale river cabin getaway

The cabin is very remote but has great views and amenities. The county roads to get to the property are subject to wash-out from heavy rains and can be problematic for vehicles with low ground clearance.

Paradise

I loved everything about this place. A true hidden gem. 200 yards from a great swimming hole in the gorgeous Current River, comfortable cabin to sleep in a night. Clean, all the amenities you need to have a great stay. I cannot wait to go back there. In fact, let me know if you ever want to sell it. It is my fella’s dream to have a place exactly like this.

First time ever renting VRBO, very positive experience.

This was a last minute trip that came together. The property changed ownership the day before we arrived and the new owners made things happen so that we could squeeze in a family vacation before school started. Very neat location, easy access to the current river from the property to one of the best gravel bars between pultite and roundspring. I loved the seclusion and the fact that its about a 20 min drive once you leave pavement to get to the cabin. Absolutely on the list to visit again if we can.

What an Amazing Experience!

My family and I had an incredible experience. The cabin itself was fantastic, offering all the comforts and amenities we could hope for. However, the standout feature for us was the covered porch. It provided a serene and secluded space that truly allowed us to disconnect and enjoy nature. Our children had a blast exploring the surroundings, playing in the nearby river, and learning to fly fish. The combination of peaceful relaxation and outdoor adventure was exactly what we needed. We definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a peaceful yet adventurous getaway.

Lovely Place

The property was even more beautiful in person. Well-maintained, stunning, and cozy. The secluded area was just what we were looking for. It was such a treat to star gaze around a fire while listening to the river in the distance. The beach nearby was magnificent! My husband and I both grew up experiencing the southern portion of the Current River, and it was wonderful to get to explore this area. I was apprehensive about booking a rental that is so remote, but the directions to the property were very detailed, and we had no trouble at all. I do wish the bed in the master was a bit larger, but because it was just the two of us, it wasn't a big deal to sleep separately. Ultimately, my only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay to fully take advantage of all the area has to offer. I hope we're able to return in the future!

Perfect place to unplug

If you truly want to get away, this is the perfect place. We spent most of our time outside floating Akers to Round Spring, made it a 2 day float. This was a great stop along the way, approx. 13 miles by canoe to the cabin from Akers and another 6 to finish up the next day. Super convenient as Carr's Canoe Rental is located very close. My kids loved driving on the gravel road coming to and from the cabin, that was an adventure on its own! The gravel bar located at the cabin is home to a beaver clan, it was fun to sit under the stars and watch them work at night carrying branches down the river to build their beaver houses. Saw a few bald eagles as well. Caught some smallmouth from the gravel bar. The amenities were great, got plenty of use from the blackstone and gas grill for quick and easy meals with minimal cleanup. 10/10! Will be back!

Perfect home for floating the Current River. We are repeat customers & just love having this home for a two day float Acker’s to the house and then on to Round springs to take out. Everything we need is here, beds are comfortable, WiFi worked without a hitch, fabulous deck, grills, easy walk to the gravel bar. Ready to rebook! Thanks so much!

The cabin is very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The first 2 days it rained and it was so nice to sit on the porch in a rocking chair and listening to the rain. I must say the road to get to the house can be a little daunting; especially during a rain storm. We had to move some large branches that fell and crossed the road. A large branch fell across the entry gate to the property! It was quite an adventure! But our SUV was able to navigate the road. The house is clean and well appointed and completely stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc. There are two grills; one being a black stone grill. The river is just a short walk through the woods along a path. We had a wonderful time and recommend this property. We know you will enjoy your stay!

Family trip to Current River

Wonderful cabin at a secluded location on the Current River; perfect getaway for nature lovers. We comfortably slept 6 adults for 3 days in June while canoeing the Current River. The property was very clean and well stocked, and the hosts provided thorough information concerning the property, driving directions, amenities, and check in process. Property is accessible from an approximate 6.5 mile gravel road. Be sure to read driving directions before you arrive, and, as hosts recommend, arrive durig daylight hours to avoid getting lost. It was a short walk to a canoe accessible gravel bar on the river. We really enjoyed sunsets by the river and wildlife watching. Lots and lots of fireflies at night, and dark skies made for great stargazing. Highly recommend this property!

Celebrated dad's 72nd birthday here relaxing on the Current River. The property is beautiful. Easy access to the river for fishing or shoving off for a quick 2-3 hour float down to Round Spring. The house accommodated to four guys perfectly with everything we needed for a memorable stay.

If you want seclusion, this is it.

Very pleased with our stay here. Other than friendly folks passing by on canoes while you are hanging out by the river, there are virtually no signs of civilization at the cabin. Can't here anything but nature and it's wonderful. I also went for astrophotography. This is in the center of the darkest area anywhere within a few days drive of us and it is the most beautiful night sky I have ever seen. Most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Thank you

Dream House

Another wonderful stay at Boyd’s Hollow! While Helene dumped rain all day Friday, we rocked on the cozy porch and enjoyed hot chocolate. We got to kayak in The Current, a walk of maybe 200 yards away, on Thursday. The jumping rock and the swimming hole off the gravel bar are perfect for a fun day in the river. As always, well stocked with everything we needed to have a relaxing wonderful time! We’ll be back for sure. Melanie T ~~ Eureka, Missouri

Excellent cabin for Current River activities

Stayed for 4 nights in September with spouse and another couple. Cabin was extremely clean and had zero bugs (very difficult to achieve for a remote location like this). Very comfortable, bunk beds were larger than expected, firewood was provided, and current river was only a short walk away. We were able to do canoe trips during the day, and fires at the cabin (or by the river) at night. Phenomenal location. Do be mindful that the final 6 miles has a lot of steep hills on narrow gravel roads - definitely advised to get there during the daytime the first time around. May be difficult to handle some of the hills if you have a small / underpowered vehicle loaded down with gear. Easy checkout with reasonable requirements.

Gem!

My wife and I loved this home. The grounds were very well kept and I can express how secluded the property feels. The current river flows near the property and the location of home offers a proximity few probably get to enjoy.
